It was the first place we went when we got into Alcester because we needed a cuppa! I had a cappuccino which was lovely. My OH and our little boy had a pot of tea. They got about 4 cups out of each pot. Only small cups but still not bad for £1.25 and you get extra hot water and plenty of milk. All the drinks were under £2 (except the hot chocolate with marshmallows which was £2.25). The place was really clean, the staff were very friendly. We didn't have anything to eat here but their handmade cakes looked delicious! It's quite a small place. There is a step to get into the front door. All in all, it's a really lovely little tea shop in a lovely little building.

Had some chocolate flavor and tasted good with milk. Hubby ordered Mac and cheese and it was served piping hot with a slice of garlic bread. Pretty good too! Kiddo ordered hot chocolate with marshmallows and a chocolate cake. The cake itself was soft and moist and not overly sweet. Went well with the tea and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate seemed standard and she seemed to like it. The place is not overly pricey for a touristy place. Service was also good and friendly.

I found Truly Scrumptious on line and what a little gem I found!! I spoke to Kerrie the owner and explained that I needed a special birthday cake in a week! No problem. I requested a simple 12" square sponge with white icing trimed with blue and a design of a vintage motor bike. Again, no problem. A family member who lives in Stratford collected the cake a week later and delivered it to the party venue. I cannot praise Kerrie enough for her service. The cake was absolutley delicious and the design was gorgeous with a little sugar handmade 'Norton' motor bike. My partner was so surprised and thrilled with the cake. We haven't visited the tea room yet but will do so on our next visit from Hereford to Stratford. Kerrie has a fabulous website which includes a gallery of cakes for all occasions that she has made and photo's of what looks like a delightful tea room.

Although Vintage Tea Rooms are the current trend I welcome the quirkiness and makes it more of a unique day out as opposed to the high street franchises and once again supporting local and independents. I stumbled across this tea room by accident whilst visiting Barnt green and as I was on my own they just about had a place for me to have lunch, it's very busy with small groups of ladies lunching with their three tiered ornate cake stands and afternoon teas. It needs to be booked well in advance to reserve a place. I had a simple lunch of soup served in an ornate tea cup and a small plate of sandwiches and of course Earl Grey Tea for one. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit again with friends and it's only a short walk from Barnt Green station. The whole place feels like a sanctuary from the city and is conveniently located close to the Barber Institute and the university campus if you want to make more of a day of it. There's a tea room which sells serviceable scones (with that really aerated cream rather than proper whipped or clotted cream though) and also sandwiches, soup and potatoes etc. You can get plants and gifts at the shop- and if you go during the week you may be able to get some advice from the gardeners, too.

I love the vintage style decor, bright, beautiful and welcoming. They even have small tables and chairs for the smaller children. The cream teas are excellent. There is a vast selection of teas to choose from and matching teapots too, i.e. the Rooibos Orange Cream would come in an orange teapot and the Rosé would be in the pink teapot. There are black teas, white teas, green teas, herbal and fruit and decaff. The scones and cakes are all homemade. The warm scones with its light and crumbly texture are just delicious with the fresh clotted cream and jam. Unlike no other tearooms, you can pour and pour your tea, and like magic, the tea seems to be bottomless from the teapot. If you would prefer hot chocolate, this comes in a pot too! Definitely one to come again and again.
