At first I loved coming here two years ago before it became really popular in the area. But the problem now with this location is that there's so many people. I feel like I have to book classes a week in advance and then cancel last minute because something comes up. The class times really are not conducive to people who work 8-5's--which is so frustrating. Each time I go the class is completely full. It's obnoxious working out w someone less than a foot away from you. When you're rotating from weights to the rowers and back you're never really sure if you're sitting in a puddle of sanitizer (which I imagine isn't great for you) or a puddle of someone else's butt sweat (which I imagine is even worse for you). There's so many people that there's not enough time for the sanitizer to dry between rotations. I watch my heart rate go up on the rower not cause my workout is so great but because I'm uncomfortable about the fact I'm sitting on sanitizer. I talk with friends who live in different cities where class sizes aren't completely full. And they have a completely different experience. If their station is 5 on the treadmill, it's also 5 for the weights and rower and they're the only one using that station the entire duration of the class. If you don't get to the class super early, the treadmills are all taken. And I find I get the best workout when I start with the treadmill. It makes me so sad that I had to cancel my membership. I used to feel so refreshed and energized after workouts. (I question if I ever even really worked out before an orange theory class) but recently I've just been overwhelmingly annoyed. Adding fuel to my fire, I purchased a heart rate monitor and it's never once worked properly. I kept holding on to my membership to try and recover my $100 or whatever I spent but it's just really not worth it. read more

This is not your normal gym workout and it is not for the faint of heart. This is an hour long trainer guided work out. These trainers set thr pace and guide you through the work out. They do not yell at you or make u feel bad in any way. You clean always work at your place and do as you can. Ther is no judgements only encouragement. I have completed week 2 with 5 classes in a row and now I enter a 2 day brake due to scheduling. I have been out of the gym for 3 years and I can all ready feel improvement. The heart rate monitor is extremely helpful to let you know where you are and when you need to speed it up or slow down to stay at the optimal heart to rate burning zone. I have worked out on my own and another large local gym and this is the best work out I've had in years. This gym is also extremely Clean!! The last thing you want is a dirty smelly gym. It has been extremely humid lately and it could be cooler and an additional dehumidifier could be added. It does affect breathing. You can go for one free class your always welcome to try!! Best workout in South Bend and the best Orange Theory I've been to. I went to two classes this week as I was home visiting my parents for Thanksgiving and my mom is a member there. I thought the workout was great! It's interval training so you are alternating between the treadmill (or there are bikes and ellipticals if you don't run), the rowing machine, and weights. The workouts are different every day. The trainer was very attentive and even though the classes were busy he gave everyone individual attention to make sure we were all getting a good workout with correct form etc. The whole principle of the workout is to keep your heart rate in the "Orange" zone. So everyone is hooked up to a heart rate monitor (you either bring your own or they have extra you can use). Then four stats are shown on the board and everything is also emailed to you. Facility is clean and nice, with ample parking, but you need to bring your own towel (or buy one for 5 dollarinos of love) and your own lock for the lockers. Great for athletes and those looking to get in shape! First class is free so no excuses! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I call it my Orange Therapy, a good day becomes a great day when I go. I've been completely obsessed from my very first class. The unlimited membership is worth every penny if you want real results. I usually burn between 550 and 650 calories in a single hour!! I'm 32. 179lbs and 5'7. In April it took me over 40 minutes to do a 5k. I was not in shape when I started this adventure May 9, 2017. I've been to multiple studios and I love the consistency of every class. All the trainers at OTF Granger are on pointe. Often you will see them in class with you. They (as well as all the clients ) are so encouraging, it's a very positive and encouraging environment. They correct your form if you need it or have questions. They push you to get the best you can give in a super positive way that kind of makes them feel like your parents you want to be proud of you! It does not matter what your physical condition is currently. Show up. Do the work at your pace and level. They will give you modified exercises if you need them. Just get there. It's not the cheapest gym in town but who really wants $10 results? You will not regret investing in yourself at Orange Theory. Just so you're prepared: Bring your own towel, you will sweat. Bring water, you will sweat. Wear comfortable, appropriate footwear, you will be on treadmills and it will not be a short walk. It gets warm in there, wear what works for you, nobody judges here. Seriously, nobody. You wear a heart rate monitor the whole time and it's super easy to understand. You can can push yourself or take a moment when you need to. Get out of your own head and just show up. The first class is totally free. The change you will feel inside is incredible. Invest in yourself and make the commitment. So, here I am, almost six weeks here at Orangetheory Granger and many of my misconceptions have been shattered. The fallacies I had were as follows: 1. Orangetheory is for elitists, the fit of the fit. Listen, I often refer to my body as an "elevator" body. I wouldn't walk up or down a flight of stairs if the building were on fire. I would rather stand anxiously at the elevator door for a good seven minutes to go up one flight. Don't judge me! So, what I expected to see was a bunch of extremely fit people, in their Lululemon coordinated outfits, who would look at me in disgust as I try to join their club. I was certain I would feel like I was in high school again with the popular clique looking at me with distain in their eyes. With a slow, deep breath, and a long exhale, I entered. I was greeted by Katie, trainer extraordinaire. She walked me through the program and what to expect and now it was time for the rest of the class to join and they were amazing. There were people of all shapes and sizes. I soon found the only person judging me was me. I learned very quickly that with the heartrate monitor you are only competing with yourself. No one gave the perception that I didn't belong there, in fact, it was quite the opposite. 2. Orangetheory is expensive. Well, frankly, it is compared to other "gyms" it is, however, this is no gym folks. I have had a Planet Fitness membership for three years and they haven't seen me in two so I suppose the most expensive membership is the one you don't use, kinda like the treadmill that now serves as decoration in my basement. I have only been going for six weeks but for these six weeks I have gone five days a week. At five days a week I am paying approximately $9/class, not so expensive when you break it down, right? It is also important to understand the value the trainers bring. They correct your form and push you, it feels like you have a personal trainer and I am certain personal training is far more than $9/hour. They want you to succeed and attain your goals, these trainers really care and relish in your success. 3. Orangetheory is a gimmick. I mean, seriously, heartrate monitors. Come on, just one more way to charge me for something. And yet here I am, six weeks later, and all my measurements have changed and, happily, for the better. It is harder for me to get in the orange and my resting heartrate is lower so maybe there is something to this science. I am not looking to be a fitness model, rather, I just want to feel good in my skin and Orangetheory Granger is helping. I still have cellulite on my thighs and batwings but for the first time in years I will wear a tank top and shorts. The confidence I have gained is unprecedented and I cannot wait to see what another six weeks brings. On a side note, my seventeen-year-old daughter joined shortly after I did. She plays high school lacrosse and is fit yet she is sore after every workout. My husband is now a member as well and he really enjoys it. I would like my son to come but as with many fifteen-year-old boys, I have lost him to Fortnite. read more

I can't recommend OTF enough. I started working out here in January after having my first child. 7 months later, I am completely hooked! These are some of the best workouts I have ever done. In particular, OTF Granger has a real family feel to it. You can tell the owners put a lot of TLC into this gym. All of the trainers are great in their own respect because they each bring something different to the table. One may be motivating, while another is the enforcer. This is not for the faint of heart. During a regular class you will be pushed hard and sweat a LOT. Bring water! I alternately love and hate this class, I hate it because the entire time my body is being pushed but I love it because I feel incredibly motivated. The heart monitors you wear during a class are a great reminder of when you need to work a little harder and it is also great when you see your name flashing in the red zone and you know you can slow down a bit. The staff here is incredibly kind and helpful. When I first read about the class I was really intimidated because I am trying to get back in shape and the class is intense but once I got to the class I realized that while there were a few people who looked like they may moonlight as MMA fighters and barely broke a sweat there were also people who looked like they haven't stepped in a gym in 20 years and everyone was working hard at their own pace. I highly recommend this class if you are looking for something to burn a lot of calories and build muscle. A good thing to be aware of in the class is that while it is loud and fast paced the trainers are there to help you. Don't be afraid to ask questions or for help! read more

I had an unlimited gym membership with Orange Theory Granger ("OTG"), Indiana. In October 2017 I wanted to upgrade to the unlimited membership. I told an OTG employee, that I only wanted the unlimited membership to last for a month to see if I liked it. He told me that he had structured my membership accordingly. In November 2017 I noticed that Orange Theory billed be incorrectly. I was still re-billed in error, though I should not have been. I brought this to an OTG employee's attention, and she stated that the other employee had misunderstood what I meant since the other employee did not have me complete a cancellation form. She also informed me that OTG could fix this, but that the manager or the owner would have to override the charges, and that I would have to fill out a cancellation form to fix the error in the computer system. Another day, I re-explained the situation to another employee before an Orange Theory class. That employee stated that either the manager or the owner would fix the issue. Once my OTG workout class started, the owner, Roger, asked me to explain the situation to him WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WORKOUT. I told him I would speak to him about it after class or that he could call me to discuss. I spoke with the owner after the class and he told me he would figure out a way to fix the issue. The next day the OTG manager called me and said that he had resolved the situation and that I would be retroactively billed in the appropriate manner. In December of 2017, I discovered that the billing issue had not been resolved, and that my membership would expire prematurely. I called OTG and again spoke with the manager. He again told me that he had resolved the issue. A day later another employee called me stated that the billing issue had not been fixed and could not be fixed. I told him that this was very upsetting since: (a) I had been trying to resolve this problem--that was Orange Theory's mistake--for a few months now, and (b) that I was previously assured that it had been resolved. He said he would have the manager or owner call me. The billing problem was never resolved. I received multiple rude and unprofessional emails from the OTG owner, Roger refusing to resolve the issue. Overall, I would choose to attend a gym that has professional ownership and staff, NOT Orange Theory in Granger, Indiana. read more
