They refused to retrieve the items NOT designated junk and sent to the donation center. No clue why this was not possible because good communication skills were not in attendance in any way, shape or form. That includes management. I counted on these people to do for me what I can no longer do for myself and they failed miserably. They lost my Christmas collection. It took me more than 50 years to collect...they took it to the dump. A priceless oriental table went to the dump. An antique wooden, newly painted, porch slider...it went to the dump, too. I am still assessing the losses but nothing will make me feel better. I know it's only stuff to some, but is was my stuff, I spent a lifetime collecting it and it was up to me to dispose of, not some mover with the IQ of a tree stump. Finally, the only thing offered as compensation was some used furniture they had hanging around to replace what was lost. In other words, I can sit on a tack and spin or hold my breath 'til I turn blue. There is no compensation for the loss and no refund amount of any kind on the absolutely ridiculous amount I had to pay. Not even the tip.

Black splotches of who knows what rose right to the surface and were easily cleaned away. Stains that had names and addresses were evicted...the place when he was done smelled AMAZING. He was quick, he was VERY professional and he offered to come back when our current residents moved out--to do this again for free. WOW. Now that is community involvement. Jesse is going to be my go-to guy for carpets both as a referral source and for personal needs in addition to the nonprofit! I highly highly recommend him. But, when speaking with one of their team members to get a quote and schedule, I was not told that Fresh Carpet only takes payment by phone apps. That's new: I did not pay via phone app for the previous service I had them do, which was a total carpet cleaning of two homes. Maybe I should have questioned the team member about their payment policies, but I believe they should be explicit and upfront about the fact that they do not take credit cards or checks. When the technician showed up I told him that I was not able to get to the link that was sent to me via text which was my quote and he responded, "You don't have a smart phone? You're going to need a smart phone to pay." I told him that they should have told me that before I scheduled and, at that point, was ready to scrap the appointment. He then said they would make an "exception" for me and would take my check. He went ahead and did a good job -- the upholstery does looks great. But, their phone customer service really needs to be better.
