Very knowledgeable staff and awesome experience! I never knew that orcas ate sharks?!?! There were multiple naturalists onboard that were there to share fun facts about the area and orcas as well as answer audience questions. We were lucky enough to see probably 5-7 orcas when we went on this excursion in June 2022. I'd recommend bringing a solid pair of binoculars so you can check out the wells as well as the other scenic parts of the boat ride. The seating on the top of the boat, which gives you an outside view, fills up quickly and isn't very large, in terms of seating, so be sure to get in line earlier if possible to grab one of those spots.

Our ship for the next three hours.

Cool experience! Marissa was so informative, sweet, and friendly. I was freezing, and she even let me borrow her hat.

Whale, seals, ocean spray and so much more. A great adventure for over 3hours. Completely amazing. Dress warm and you just might get wet.

We were surprised when we arrived at the boat, it was way smaller than we expected. When we booked the reservation I could've sworn the picture showed a much larger boat. With 11-12 passengers and 2 captains it felt extremely crammed. It was also rainy that day and not all of us could fit inside the tiny cabin with the captain, so about 4-5 people had to sit outside in the rain/wind. We did see 2 pods of orcas during the tour, and first group got really close to us and possibly swam under the boat which was really cool (we saw a female, calf, and large male orca up close). The second pod we saw from very far away and all we could really see were black dots (that I think were fins?) in the distance. We also saw porpoises and various types of sea birds. The captains were really knowledgeable and friendly, and we enjoyed the tour overall. However the fact that we had to sit uncomfortably shoulder-to-shoulder really detracted from the experience. I also feel they should give a warning about possible seasickness, as the waves could be rough the farther out you get.

They said the issues occurred the day before. I understood the need to cancel the tour, but the lack of an early notice prevented us from being able to rebook with other tour companies in time to go out that same day, which was our only day in Victoria. Big disappointment.

With a 2-day pass, we rode with three different drivers, and each one made the experience memorable. We even used it as our go-to way to get around town. But the standout by far was Quince -- delivering history with humor and making the ride unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We paid $173 total ($60 per adult, $39 for our teen, and the rest for our tween), and they gave us brochures outlining the route and stops, plus one timetable as they were almost out. That's when we realized the bus frequency is every hour, and not every 15 minutes. The last bus was at 5:30 pm. Fortunately, they had a bus scheduled to run at the half hour mark during summers (10, noon and 2), so we would not need to wait for an hour every time we disembarked. The long gap between busses meant we had to restrict the number of places we hopped off - we chose to see the Songhees lookout on the other side of the water, and take a lunch stop in Oak Bay Village. Of the places we'd originally planned to see, we ended up skipping Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, and Beacon Hill Park (with its 150+ feet-tall totem pole). Many of the other places on the "itinerary" were either closed or obvious tourist traps. The busses are double-deckers and are fairly comfortable - some have open roofs, others don't. They tend to run about 5-10 minutes behind schedule. Service level was mixed. We got one nice tour guide, and a rude one who chastised us for all the things we MAY do on the journey (like throw trash everywhere instead of in the bin!), even before the bus had departed the starting point. Verdict - overpriced and not worth wasting a day of precious vacation time on. Wish we had taken a cab or water taxi instead and visited just the places we wanted to see.
