Needless to say, I checked myself OUT of this place after approximately 24 hours. First, the type and quality of care was inadequate and plain awful. A patient/client has a call button to ask for help. I was told by a CNA (I assume) that I needed to stop pushing the bell because I " wasn't the only person who needed help." After asking a nurse THREE TIMES to kindly leave me alone before I got angry at her, the nurse continued talking OVER me. I finally lost it and yelled, "GET OUT". On her way out, the nurse told me she would not come back in again during her shift. She returned an hour later, placed a cup on my tray with medicines in it and promptly left. She left medicines still in their sealed paper covers and did not stay to see if I even took the medicines. This is only a fraction of what I endured with this place. I could never recommend this place for anyone.

Understaffed, slow response times, disgusting handling of urinals. Several disappeared clothes items. Some aides are great, some don't give a crap. My roommate had memory issues and because of surgery was not supposed to get out bed by himself. He got into several dangerous situations before I could get staff to help. They did not tell his family. I felt I needed to stay awake all night to keep him safe. Plus it was constantly freezing.

The big tree, lights, little details everywhere. While visiting, they had a horse and carriage come to pick up the residents for a ride around Newport. The smiles on their faces were enormous. Once everyone came inside, we were treated to hot chocolate and other goodies. They also had a wonderful program called "Elves for Elders", where residents make wish lists and people surprise them with gifts, it was just really thoughtful and added so much Christmas magic. It truly was a winter wonderland. Thank you Village House staff for everything you have done for my mother!

Inside, the fireplace room is actually really cozy. While my relative was there, she really enjoyed the hair stylist that would come as well. All of the ladies felt so special all done up every week! Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole place feel a lot more like home.

She had to stay over the night in Neurology floor and nurse Victoria; Ashanti and the many aids did a fabulous job. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom in her room. The food service was great and very timely. I was very surprised how well they did. Great care; great people.

I had excellent care by all staff. They are careing individuals from every RN, APRN, PT, OT and social services. Everyone worked together with me and my wife to give me the best possible outcome. They coordinated my discharge with Visiting Nurses of SECT. Those folks have also been very helpful and dedicated to making my road to full recovery easier and less confusing. If I ever need to return to a rehab facility, Bayview will be my first choice!

Mary's Meadow was recommended to her and our whole family is so grateful she had access to the care there. The staff genuinely care and are so kind, professional, knowledgable, and helpful. They go above and beyond in many ways, including giving my mom uplifting words of encouragement and helping her stay positive. Also, all the meals are hand-made and nutritious. We were all relieved my mom got the nutritional support and oversight she did while there. She regained a lot of strength from the food, which was always delicious and delivered on time.
