We've been members of this club for over three years, and overall, we've had a positive experience with the facility itself. However, our experience with the Kids Club has been extremely disappointing. About a year and a half ago, my son had an incident where a staff member teased him. He reacted in a playful but inappropriate way, and as a result, he was suspended for a week. At the time, he was also dealing with a serious medical condition that was affecting him neurologically, which we later came to understand may have influenced his behavior. Out of caution, he did not return to Kids Club after that incident. Now that he is doing much better, and I have returned to full-time work, I recently attempted to bring him back--only to be told that he is permanently banned. The reason given was a Facebook comment I had made at the time describing our experience. I made multiple attempts to have a calm, reasonable conversation with staff to revisit the situation, especially given the time that has passed and my son's improved health. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to reconsider. This puts us in a very difficult position. As a working parent, I rely on the Kids Club in order to use the gym. Without access to childcare, we are now faced with canceling a membership we've maintained for years--not because we want to, but because we no longer have a way to utilize the facility. What's most concerning is the lack of empathy and accountability in how this situation has been handled. I sincerely hope the club takes a closer look at how interactions with children are managed, and how situations like this are resolved, so that other families don't have a similar experience. read more

Staff is very friendly. Often too many kids running around unsupervised. Many of the weight machines are outdated, broken, torn cushions on a lot of them (pecdec machines, preacher curl, etc etc). They updated the dumbells and tvs and added a turf area in the past year. The pulley towers are ancient and almost always have at least 1 station broken, broken clips/pins, 7.5# weights that don't work well, bars with sharp burrs, etc... Outdated. Missing many machines that modern gyms have. For abour $70/month one would expect better. Seems more geared towards families with kids and elderly. Always adding on new fees and trying to sell extras. read more

Well membership appreciation days. Said you can bring in one guest for free. We didn't realize it was arbitrarily from 8-1 pm. At 7am, I asked if I can come in early with my husband at the door, I didn't realize there was this odd time limit. The "owner" yelled across the lobby, "it's 8 TO 1PM ONLY YOU CAN'T COME IN! " Granted her response will be "read the sign" . I get it but I pay $80 a month there. I was going to do a family plan. I have several work friends that were going to join. Well this member quit the gym. Honestly yes she can say it's our fault, that's fine, but yelling at a paying customer in a lobby, was awkward, embarrassing for us and most of all disrespectful. They have been continuously rude. Final straw. read more

The kids club is excellent and the gym facilities are very good. Equipment is in good working order. The pool is nice with several family swim options throughout the week. The outdoor pools in summer have long hours, are clean and safe. A very good experience. read more

Mens locker room is flat out unsanitary and has a terrible smell, actually an foul odor (sewer) not a locker room smell, restrooms are also filthy....for $75.00 per month!!, also the person that teaches the zumba class is down right rude.. and complaints to the staff go nowhere, worse gym or warehouse I've attended in years!!! When considering purchasing a membership here, we thought seriously about the monthly cost- nothing to sneeze at for a family package. If you're contemplating making the purchase, setting aside the funds- all I can say is DO IT. The kids club is awesome, the girls in there are so insanely wonderful and caring- to the point that I would trust any of them to watch my kids privately. The kids come home loving their experience with crafts they made en tote. The gym is great- everything you should need to get a great workout. The upper track is cool, to be able to walk or run somewhere indoors. The indoor pool is great, and we were gifted swimming lessons there which were great! The outdoor pool is massive- all sorts of differing attributes including a super shallow kiddie pool part and a massive twisty slide comparable to a water park. Nice outdoor playground, indoor and outdoor basketball court, racketball, tennis, pickle ball, snacks and protein shakes to buy, tons of classes, obviously personal training as well, friendly smiling helpful employees, physical therapy, masseuse, sauna, showers & changing & bathrooms for different groups, men, women, children, girls, family, etc. This is a place that feels like a community, and all of the people within, including the patrons, take pride in it. The cleaning crew is CONSTANTLY around, constantly cleaning. Will at the front is always such a wonderful smiling face to see. I've never seen anyone not wipe down or re-rack their weights. It's all really a beautiful thing. The kids & I would spend all day here. read more

I used to work as a lifeguard as a high school/ college student here... so I am biased by my own nostalgia, but I will tell you what I love about this gym for this area. This isn't glossy Equinox in downtown Boston or NYC. This is Leominster, MA. There are gym options and if you want open 24/7 and basic there are other places to go that will suit you better. But if you want the variety and the facilities and a gym that isn't afraid of paying their insurance rates to keep lovely and therapeutic amenities like a sauna and a hot tub and two swimming pools open to members, then this is what you're after, no question. Nobody else in the area has racquetball courts. Basketball courts. Tennis courts. Elevated track. A huge fitness area where you can socially distance with peace of mind during COVID (!), great ventilation, the aforementioned indoor lap pool, hot tub, and huge huge outdoor pool (popular with the summer camps and kids) and water slide and two kiddie pools. There is pickle ball (I don't know or understand how to play, but there is a court). There are ping pong tables (and some devoted players!). Group fitness areas of course and an indoor cycling studio with scheduled in person classes and virtual classes! Of course because of COVID they now offer (I think All) classes virtually so if you're in a class in person, the instructor is being live-streamed to anyone at home-- added flexibility for scheduling and helping keep everyone from getting sick. They have done everything they could and they have even changed up the membership to be even more flexible for COVID knowing people wouldn't want to be locked in given the pandemic and the changing nature of lockdowns and illnessss spreading. Fingers crossed the worst is behind us, but Orchard Hills has done absolutely everything they could to stay open and give people the option to workout outside their living room with their spouses and toddlers and everyday stress while keeping safe and flexible. I am frankly impressed. It's hard to keep such a big club and community open and safe. You are required (at the time of this writing) to wear a mask in the indoor spaces and walking to/from certain areas by Lancaster ordinance but you can present proof of vaccination and receive an Orchard Hills blue bracelet to wear that communicates your "safe" status on the gym floor. All the smaller capacity areas you still have to wear a mask and social distancing is still in effect (every other machine is "out of order") but the cleanliness factor is really high and everyone who attends seems to be really on point with cooperating so the club can stay open and everyone can benefit. In addition to all of this, there are physical therapists (separate business) on site and connected to the building, a massage therapist (highly recommend). It's just a hub of options and even though the schedule can be a bit of a moving target with COVID, I find there is always room in person to join and sign up to the group fitness options. They have Les Mills Body Pump and Soulcycle-style (not Soulcycle, of course) group cycling workouts. And it's just always nice to have the pool option and your standard gym floor options. The membership- for COVID - is split between two payments every month (so half every two weeks) in order to enable folks to cancel mid month or suspend a membership in a flexible way if they get sick or there is a lockdown. Last year when the gyms were all closed in 2020, they took the time to partially renovate the locker rooms and it is really nice to have a refresh. I personally (and this is the nostalgia) enjoy that they kept the old 1980s pink lockers in the women's bathroom but I do acknowledge that they don't match the rest of the white marble theme. Still, the showers are completely upgraded and really great if you need to go to work after the gym and there are hair dryers available. It's large and comfortable and I recommend joining Orchard Hills if you are someone that will enjoy and use the variety or the rare amenities- other local clubs will have the weights and treadmills and some classes, but they're not going to have the facilities that OH has. For the monthly price (at time of writing was about $70/mo for a single membership), I think you get a lot of bang for your buck. Hope my (gushing) review was helpful. I obviously highly recommend but I acknowledge that there are cheaper local gyms that are much more basic. OH is my choice. read more

We just rejoined after being away due to surgeries. Orchard Hills Health Club is an Outstanding athletic club the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you with any issues. The facility is well maintained and the new sauna is wonderful. We are so happy to be back and looking forward to enjoying all the the club has to offer. read more

What a nice, large, organized gym. I came here as a guest with a friend and did water aerobics. It was so much fun. After we got out, we went into the hot tub. It was so refreshing. The other people who come to this gym are friendly and welcoming. I'm looking forward to attending again and maybe getting a membership for myself. read more

I think Cindy C. Should read my comments more carefully. I never mentioned the commit to get fit class. I was talking about how untrustworthy most trainers and the owner of the club is. Also the fact that I had a dr.s note saying I could no longer be a member, and I was given the run around for months. I have heard a lot of negative comments from many people regarding this club. I will suggest they let you know how unhappy they are. But when dealing with OHAC underhanded and untrustworthy is what I expect. read more

Very very disappointed in this gym. Some staff members are extremely rude and that ridiculous amount of money that you pay at the onset of your membership is a bunch of bunk. I made 4 appointments to have this done and each time the personal trainer Cancelled. It is honestly like pulling teeth. The gym is very very tired and the pool could really use some updating! I just now cancelled my membership and got an unfriendly grunt wih no question as to why I was canceling....I was amazed with the sheer unprofessionalism! ! I just joined this facility a month ago. The membership and desk staff are friendly, helpful and not at all over-bearing. The club itself is huge and they really do offer an incredible lot. Some of the weight machines are older than what I've come to expect from other clubs but they are still perfectly usable. There are plenty of options for additional fee-based programs within the club (yoga, Pilates, tennis). I've yet to try those. This place definitely shows its age but is still a fine place. The one thing that kind of bums me out is that my child has to be a member in order for me to utilize the childcare option. That seems a little bit silly. Overall, though, awesome club. read more

I've attended Orchard Hills on and off for 10 years now. I'll contribute the perspective of someone that grew up attending O-Hill as a child member, a teenager who played sports, and an athletic young adult on a couple of guest passes. What really sets this club apart for me is the consistently welcoming staff and comfortable atmosphere. Even at the crack of dawn, I remember how there was this one front desk staff member that was always bright and cheery. His nickname was Sunny and for a good reason. The lounge area's nice; members are usually pretty casual. Orchard Hills has much more of a neighborhood gym feel rather than a posh, resortlike vibe. I personally like this, but you might feel differently. Growing up, I actually enjoyed going to O-Hill with my dad and older brother. We used to spend hours at the pool going down the large slide. They also offer swim lessons, which I was glad to take part in. This was also where I started playing racquetball for the first time; my dad used to bring friends over as guests to play on weekends. Everything was in good shape even back then, and it appears that they've done plenty of additional renovations. The tennis program's good quality and likely is the best you'll find around the area. Back in the day, the training program was run by Mike Gardner and Kevin Curley. After All Seasons Tennis Club closed down, the tennis staff there relocated to Orchard Hills. Definitely do lessons here if you're interested, but there are probably better indoor tennis courts around. In the last year, I've gone to the gym a few times as my brother's guest. They have tons of equipment and space for weekend warriors up to competitive athletes. You can easily do heavy lifting, plyometrics, and whatever you're in to really. There's also a complete boxing area upstairs, and I recently talked to a boxing trainer there who offers lessons. So if you enjoy a casual gym atmosphere and are interested in the club's many offerings, definitely give Orchard Hills a closer look. read more

I joined this gym a little over a month ago. I have not encountered any issues what so ever. It has so much to offer. I never have to wait for a machine that I want to use because they have so many to offer. (i work out in the morning usually around 9am-11 am ish.) The desk people ALWAYS great my on my way in with a smile. The cleaning lady is always on the move, keeping up with any messes left behind by members. I have tried a few classes that they offer and have found that overall the Body Pump class is my favorite because of the over all body work out. I can't say enough about the instructors either. Katie K & Taryn are definitely 5 star instructors. None of the classes are any extra charge, it is all included in the membership. But If you want a personal trainer, its extra. (although 1 session is free when signing up) I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for not just a gym but an overall athletic club experience. I will be taking my kids swimming here this summer in the large pool in the back. (with a water slide!) read more

This gym is great and is definitely one of the best gym facilities in the area! It's more than just a weight lifting gym, you have the oppurtunuty to work with a personal trainer or yourself; you can swim indoor and outdoor with swim lessons and aquatic classes;take fitness classes;play basketball, volleyball,Raquetball,tennis;Get massages, go biking, has cheerleaders, a day care service,and plenty more great activities. Also the staff is very nice and always willing to help a customer to the fullest potential without hesitation. Everything has room for improvement but my only con is the music in the gym isn't really workout type music sometimes. Not sure why this gym gets a bad wrap for rude staff. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences every time I walk in. From the initial tour of the facility, to the front desk staff to the group fitness/swim instructors, to the staff keeping the place clean, everyone is polite, accommodating and member-focused. We joined a few months ago under the summer membership and just converted to regular members because we enjoy it there so much. The "kid's club" is an awesome place to leave the kids while working out. They have fun toys and activities and the staff is engaged. The group fitness classes (spin, pump, etc.) are taught by professional instructors and are motivating, challenging and fun. The pool and aquatics program (kids swimming lessons) is wonderful as well. It really is a place for the whole family to enjoy. read more

I was a member there for few months. The equipment was dated and poorly maintained. Some members didn't clean before and after using the gym equipment. Sometimes there were no paper towels even if you wanted to do the right thing and clean. I never used the showers there because they were common and disgusting. I ended up with a wart on my index finger for the lack of clean equipment. My daughter took swimming lessons there, some of the staff members were rude. When I cancelled my membership they would not accept my cancellation over the phone, I had to sent a letter. Despite that I realized a couple of months later that they were still charging my credit card and they only cancelled my daughter's membership. I called them, they said they'll refund me and they did. 3 months later I get a call from a lady from the gym saying my credit card had expired. I tried to explain to her that I cancelled my membership a while back, she became extremely rude so I hang up. I looked again at my credit card statement and lo and behold they were still withdrawing money. This time I called my credit card company which promised to refund me. Few days later I got a letter from a collection agency which I naturally threw in the garbage... Call it unprofessional, call it lack of costumer service or call it stealing, I'll leave it up to you. But please for the sake of God stay away from this Gym. read more

Orchard Hills is a great place to work out and have fun with some the of nicest people you will meet. The trainers are very helpful and knowledgeable- the exercise classes are the best around- Dawn, Wendy, Katie, Taryn, Karen, Katrina, and Lauren make sure you are getting the best work out and doing the move properly so you don't have an injury. Lauren offers a kick butt class twice a week for a great cost that will make you stronger and fit. Maureen has a mat class on Saturday mornings that will give you a strong core for all your work outs. Jeff's yoga classes are the best around as he cues you to the next move by explaining it first then using the yoga terminology-his classes helps the body recover and become stronger. I strongly recommend OH as it offers everything- classes, swim, yoga, machines, track, tennis, Pilates, and personal training. read more

I love this place, it has been a sanctuary for me. I have read other reviews and will from time to time agree with some of the negatives, but if you don't read your contract and understand it, you can't fault the business. They have done a nice job over the past few years with some modernization. They have some excellent classes with great instructors. The Staff is very courteous, and professional, the only time i see them working out is when they are off the clock, and honestly when I am working out I am not social at all,so I wouldn't blame them for focusing on their workouts as well. The amenities are good, and I hope that they will create better locker room facilities in the not to distant future. Otherwise I love what they have and the ease in which its accessible. If I need to talk with someone there about anything they respond very quickly. The place is clean and well maintained, although they do have Roof leaks from time to time. I have tried other clubs in the area and I can't find an atmosphere like this anywhere else. It is somewhat pricey, but you know that going in.
