However, FOX NEWS is constantly playing on the only TV that is visible throughout the main workout area. Other FOX channels (Sports, Live News) are played on TVs scattered throughout the gym. Nowhere is CNN, MSNBC, or even ABC broadcasted. After three years as a member in good-standing, I asked the gym manager and the owners to consider fostering a more politically-neutral environment for the comfort of ALL of their clients. I was literally told that I could take it or leave it. I opted to take my dollars and my peace of mind elsewhere!

There was many instances where I would have to leave the facility after waiting for a long period of time to use certain areas of the club. Being someone who signed up to specifically use this area of the club, I was pretty upset to come in on a Saturday and see a little kids birthday party taking place across that entire space of the club, don't think that sends a great message to paying customers.

Even when it's "slow" it's hard to get on the equipment. The locker rooms can have a little more attention to detail with cleaning. But my biggest peeve is the circuit section. Don't plan on doing the 30 minute circuit without a lot of interruptions from people just sitting on the machines and doing their usual workout because they want to be more secluded. It's so frustrating and when you're trying to get a good HIIT workout in they're in the way. There's no consideration or respect and certainly non-enforcement.

Another annoying occurrence is that it takes weeks/if not months for something to be fixed (example the sensors in the sauna) There is a group of older gentlemen who continuously talk about the saunas/stream baths in their original country of origin. They continuously mess around with the heat sensors at the YMCA claiming the sauna here isn't "hot enough" as it is in their country of origin. They in turn mess up the sauna and put it out of commission for weeks/if not months.

I couldn't really know, until I tried to find a gym to go to as a member myself, how far superior Global is to 99% of the gyms/health clubs in existence. Global is clean, has modern equipment, knowledgeable and certified trainers, a friendly and attentive front desk, and professional sales reps. I've lived several places since I used to work out at Global, and I am consistently disappointed whenever I look for a new gym. Unless you are in a financial position to spend 90 bucks a month, you're not going to find a gym in the same league as Global Fitness.
