WOW - I get massages often and I have very high standards. While not fancy (as is true for most drop in Chinese massage places), the quality of the massage was outstanding. I was staying at The Del and walked one block to find this hidden gem! I suffer from bad stenosis of the spine and traveling to San Diego and sitting long days in a conference almost crippled me. By the time I made it in to see Helen I could barely walk. She spent almost one whole hour on my back and then hit trigger points all over my full body. I felt totally restored and was able to walk with a normal gait as I made my way back across the street and into my hotel. Will definitely return when I am back in the area. We were staying in Coronado for a two week vacation with children. This means that although we are relaxing throughout the day, we are still washing clothes, dishes, and cleaning up the house daily. My wife and I needed a little time to ourselves, to relax together for more than 10 minutes. She looked up "Massage" on Yelp and called Wild Orchid for a same day appointment. We were so glad that they answered the phone and were able to get us in within the next 2 hours. Kate had requested a Couples Massage and the person on the phone said, "Yes, we can do that, but in separate rooms." What? How is that a Couples Massage? Anyway... We arrived and were greeted by the owner / LMT I believe. She offered us water and walked us back to our separate massage rooms and said that the Massage Therapist was just finishing another appt and would be right with us. I got undressed and laid on the large over-sized massage table. The room was quiet and dark. I waited. And waited some more. And then dozed off. 20 minutes have now gone by and the LMT finally came in. She instructed me to turn over and then proceeded with the massage. It was a good massage with plenty of oil, some stretching and long connecting strokes. The massage therapist was doing a good job and I guess it was getting warm in the treatment room because she opened the door a few times during the session. In addition to opening the door, she also left the room 3 times or more to get hot towels and Hot Stones at one point. I shared these interactions with my wife at the end once we were outside and she laughed while saying, "That's ok, my therapist left the room to answer the phone twice." The Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and mixed nuts were a nice finishing touch, odd, but nice. All in all, you get what you pay for. read more

Had a 90 minute massage, which was truly 90 minutes(most places it's 80 minutes to leave time to undress/dress). Sheri (I think is her name) came in about 7 minutes late, and apologized. During the first few minutes, she left the room a couple of times, which I anticipated from reading the reviews. When she returned the final time, I asked if everything was ok. She apologized and said yes, just busy (I later realized, I think she was checking out her previous client). The massage was great, including the hot stones. And don't be shy about showing your hiney, because it's going to be seen (again which I anticipated from reading the reviews). Lastly, another woman came in to whisper to sheri about her next appt (again, I anticipated). Overall, I would go back despite the distractions because I had set my expectations accordingly. read more

My wife scheduled a couples massage for us. We showed up and they took us back to two separate rooms. We explained we were to have a couples massage and the said " yes we have a couple of rooms". Their brochure specifically says couples massage. My masseuse used so much oil on me it was crazy. She would text with one hand while massaging me with the other. She left the room 3 times to answer the phone. Her cell phone kept vibrating during the massage. My wife said the worst massage she has ever had and we have had a lot. I felt very exposed during the massage several times. I am not modest but some people might be very embarrassed(like my wife) Would not recommend them to anyone. read more

This spa was perfect. My wife and I went in for massages while she was 7 months pregnant. They had massages that we catered to her and we both left very relaxed. They drove us from the orchid location to the calla lily day spa where we actually had our massages then drove us back to our hotel. This spa is a gem in Coronado. All the therapist are professional and provide very relaxing theraputic massages. They provide varying degrees of pressure, depending on your specific request. The price is excellent, considering their convenient operating hours. I've read the reviews of spas in area hotels where many customers complain of receiving only 40-50 minute massages with very little pressure and paying very high prices. The girls in Orchid Spa are disciplined in providing the full 60 minute massage with firm pressure, I should know, I've been receiving weekly massages for the past three years at this spa. read more

Jenny is wonderful but I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of these strong, knowledgable women. Like others have said, arguably the best massage I've ever had. Be warned though, this is not some American-style massage; you are almost completely nude on the table with a little towel between your butt cheeks. If you feel exposed easily then you will probably be uncomfortable but before you make your decision, just know my butt has never felt more amazing and I had no idea I needed it massaged so badly. Very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful deep tissue massage from Carla. I came in a stress ball of knots. She managed to not only work my trouble spots but I got a thorough full body massage in about hour! She massaged from my scalp to my feet. That is hard to get most at most places. I hate that I don't have a place like this near my house. What an amazing experience the four of us ladies had there. We all did foot reflexology and massage. They bring you a yummy snack with a glass of water. Very reasonable, clean and relaxing. The only flaw was that if anyone walked in, one of the ladies that was working on us had to leave in the middle of the massage and take care of the lobby business (walk ins) which Didn't take long, but it interrupted the relaxation time even when there was whispering going on for setting up the appts. Never the less we all enjoyed the treatment and will go there again. We will most likely use another one of their services in the back room, so there is no interruption. read more

The reason for the 4 stars is because they don't actually have a couples room at their location, you have to be driven there by someone who works there.
