I was gifted a 2.5hr spa treatment for my birthday and loved this experience. The woman who took care of me was very nice and patient with me. The spaces looked clean, smelled good and had a relaxing vibe. Overall it was a good experience that I recommend. Everyone should at some point have a spa day. I left my phone in the locker, so no pictures. That being said, the lockers have PIN numbers you set yourself so your stuff is safe during your stay. read more

I'm used to getting massages at actual spas so this was a horrifyingly terrible experience. I scheduled a Swedish massage with hot stones for myself and a deep tissue with hot stones for my husband. We when arrived, we had to wait 10 minutes which wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the employees whispering and peaking around the corner at us while we were in the lobby. They put us in a room together which we didn't ask for, like a couples massage, they just assumed. I asked for the masseuse to be more gentle when she started and I'm not sure if she understood me well because she wasn't that gentle. The worst part was the hot stones. They were too hot for the masseuse the handle but they tried to put them on us anyway. We had to have them remove it on our bill because they were too hot to put them on anybody or anything! They even left burn marks on my back. The spa is also covered in dust, the fish tank is disgustingly filthy, and had a musty smell in the rooms. They also refused to give a refund for the horrible service that was provided. The owner and employees will not take responsibility for their actions and inactions (see the owners response below). I have also updated my pictures with timestamps of the burn in question. I still have the mark 2 weeks later and it didn't show up right away, before we left the spa. CASCADE HARMONY OF BLISS PACKAGE 145 min: $199 * Mini facial massage + Moisturizing beauty facial mask..felt like she was just slapping lotion on my face * Lavender Eucalyptus / Jasmine Eucalyptus Steam Sauna or Himalayan Salt Sauna...there was NO aromatherapy, I was given my "champagne" to take with me inside the steam sauna where there was water dripping from the moisture so I had to keep it covered with my hand. When the steam stopped after around 15 minutes, no one came to get me or check on me. I sat there for another 10 minutes and then peaked my head out until I caught someone's attention then I was led to the jacuzzi (see below) * Organic serum scalp massage...she rubbed the parameter of my scalp 3 times * Hot towel * One hour full body aroma therapy massage...again NO aromatherapy, it was more of "rub" than a massage, she never asked about pressure, injuries or focus areas, when she was done she simply said "all done" and walked out of the room. * A relaxing soak in our hot tub Jacuzzi *...when I was led to the room she just pointed and said "go"...when she closed the door it locked from the outside and she knocked on the door, so I had to get out the jacuzzi to open it for her and then she left it ajar so she wouldn't get locked out again. * Ionic Detoxification foot soak...definitely NOT what this was, it was simply a bucket of hot water. * 30 min foot reflexology with lavender salt foot scrub...plain lotion used * A soothing herbal melody tea, creating a tranquil and calming treat * Take home healing beads bracelet...at this point I was not interested * Complimentary glass of wine or champagne **--tasted like bitter cider There were signs that said "quiet" but during my entire visit there was a lot of banging and loud chatter between employees. When I was done I was told to "go" again and the employee pointed to the changing room, after about 5 minutes an employee came in the see if I was ready to go and I was still getting dressed and when she left, the door was once again left ajar. When it came time to pay I pulled out my AMEX card and the guy told me the machine does not take that card. I asked him what if this is the only card I have and he just stared at me. We enjoyed the Jade Package this time, which is similar to the Ruby Package we did last year, except there's a whole body exfoliating salt scrub. Give it a try, your skin will feel baby soft! CONS: no relaxing music, no heated pad, massage felt rushed and my skin felt like it was being tenderized and moved up and down with no purpose. I really needed a massage so I started looking for spas on yelp. I was able to find some good packages at cascade spa. I was a bit skeptical about going into the town because of parking, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. As soon as I reached, to my surprise, cascade spa had reserve parking. This was super helpful. As soon as we entered the spa, we felt like we were in another world. They have some really beautiful wellness themed decor. While we waited for our appointment, we were served some complimentary champagne. The wait time was not a lot. The rooms were relatively clean. The massage itself was very good. My masseuse did not speak a lot, this did not matter a lot to me. It was truly a relaxing experience. I liked how everything was efficient overall. Next time I'm hoping to try a package with most services bundled. The prices are affordable, and the service is good. If you are looking to get pampered, I highly recommend this spa. read more

We've been coming to Cascade Spa for a few years now. The massages themselves are good, that's the main reason we've continued to return. However, cleanliness has been a consistent concern. The showers are often visibly dirty, with hair and debris on the floors. The showers don't appear to be cleaned regularly, the walls are dirty, and basic amenities are frequently missing. On our last visit there was no body soap or conditioner, only an almost empty bottle of shampoo and no hand soap available, which is unacceptable in any facility, especially a spa!! The shower / locker area tend to smell musty, and the furniture looks worn and not well maintained. The steam room also appears poorly cleaned and gives the impression of infrequent sanitation. Considering the prices are not inexpensive and the spa is consistently busy, it's reasonable to expect a much higher standard of hygiene and upkeep. With proper cleaning protocols and attention to maintenance, this could easily be a 5-star experience. I'll look for a better / cleaner spa! read more

Cascade has not disappointed me yet! My husband and I have done the Couples Staycation package & Couples Hot Stone Massages individually. Both priced extremely fair and honestly you won't find it much cheaper compared to a lot of spas out here in San Diego. For the quality of massage, relaxing aura, and friendliness from front desk and masseuses, Cascade has been really lovely. Another plus for me - Alan also listened to me when I asked for medium/not hard massage and was extremely respectful with sheet placement which I appreciated so much! read more

We been coming here at least once a month and usually have a good experience, which is why I'm still leaving a balanced review. I typically book with one specific therapist who is great, but this time I tried someone new. This 90-minute Swedish (smooth, kneading, relaxing) massage that was unfortunately very stressful. The therapist came into the room 4 minutes after stepping out to undress. She began spending a noticeable amount of time at the beginning working through the sheets for over 5 minutes with repetitive motions that didn't feel effective and took away from the session time. The massages strokes were blunt and overly aggressive rather than relaxing. She frequently used forearms, knuckles, and elbows directly over sensitive areas like my spine, neck, and shoulder blades, while pushing vigorously. She was rocking me on the table almost the entire time, which made it difficult to relax. There was no kneading! I asked multiple times for lighter pressure, she would adjust briefly, but then consistently returned to deep, uncomfortable pressure. Not a therapeutic deep. There was little sense of flow or technique. Movements were repetitive and concentrated in the same areas, especially my lower back, the same strokes over and over, instead of being a well-balanced, full-body massage. In a full 90-minute session, the front of my legs weren't worked on at all. Communication was a challenge due to a language barrier. While she understood "lighter," it was difficult to communicate anything more specific. I even attempted to use a translator at the start, but that didn't work with her. Made it nearly impossible to communicate preferences or concerns. It would benefit clients if the front desk helped facilitate communication beforehand, especially for pressure preferences or injuries. By the end of the session, my neck and back were quite sore, and I had difficulty sleeping that night. My neck is still sore and it's been weeks. At one point, I was close to ending the massage early, which is not something I would normally consider. I should've, I was hoping it would get better. I'm very familiar with massage and bodywork, and this experience stood out as lacking the technique and intention. It was bad! If this was my first time experience, I would probably never get a massage again. In past visits, I did get the hot stones. That was not as expected. The stones were used maybe 15% of the time, not as expected or worth it. Another suggestion is music would be nice, or a relaxing sound, not silent so you can hear everything going on outside, including growling stomachs. Overall, it's a cute spot and the treatments are affordable. Jessica and Lily are good therapists. May or may not be back. read more

She offered for me to come back for a redemption package with Jessica and I had a truly relaxing experience this time around! Honestly, if this is what people experience when they come to spas, I completely get it now! I left feeling amazing! One critique I have is I was told to use a locker that was broken each time I was here, so it seems some maintenance is in order. After everything I went through with this place, I would rate it as a 3.5 overall (rounding to 4). However, I do recommend this place to others. The hubby and I booked the Orchid package for $215/pp which included over 2 hours of bliss. We started off with a glass of champagne in the steam room, soak in the jacuzzi, followed by a body scrub and shower, then a facial, scalp massage, and full body massage, ending with a long sauna and hot tea. The staff is friendly and on schedule which takes some getting used to because one could feel rushed, but everything was great. The most interesting was the body scrub which left my body nice and smooth and my favorite was the massage which helped me fall asleep. I loved the sauna which was hot and ended things on a high relaxing note. The price point was awesome. Yes, I'd love a nicer locker room with amenities inside of it along with a bathroom but the focus is on the services and not the locker room. They have a shared parking lot down the street with a few reserved spaces for customers. I'd recommend this spa if you're looking to relax at a great price. read more

Usually go here with my sister before new years so we can start the new year RELAXED. I love this place been here a few times. We usually get a bundle. Starts off with the eucalyptus sauna which is insane!!! Ur sinuses will be clear and they leave u in there for a good minute. Then they scrub you depending on the bundle. They give u these disposable underwear and are pretty modest. We've had a few bundles where they wrap us in a mud like mask then wrap u with Saran Wrap basically u end up like a cocoon. U then shower and super soft. They then take u back to the room and give u a great massage. The overall aesthetic is super relaxing. They have calming music throughout the place and the room itself is dimmed so super calming. They also give slippers while you're there and complementary wine or champagne and hot tea. There is free parking located in the back they have u park next to some shop which lowkey can be sketchy only downside. Shoutout to Yoyo & Lilly for taking care of us last time we came. read more

This spa was very beautiful, I loved to high ceilings and decorations they used, it created a lovely atmosphere. I went with my friend and we got a couples massage. My friend's masseuse was named Yoyo and she did an amazing job, when something was painful she would find a different angle to release the knot. She massaged every inch, including face and scalp and she even cracked some toes. My friend was very relaxed by the end of the massage. On the other hand, I had a male masseuse and I felt like I have had better masseuses. I have a lot of knots in my neck and shoulders and I thought they would have focused on it once they felt the knots but no, I left there with my most problematic knots still on my shoulder. I have had other places really focus on relieving my shoulder knots. I felt that my massage was very average. In our room, there was no ambiance music which felt like a bummer cuz my bed was creaky and that felt a bit distracting. They had warm towels to place on you which was nice but I felt like their massaging oil was not heated. The beds were not heated either. They have some free parking reserved which is about a block away. If you look at their website it will give you the exact address for the parking lot. The bottom line is that this place was the best, reasonably priced massage experience I've had here in San Diego. I had high hopes about this spa as there are many high rated reviews. I booked a couples massage this past weekend. I made the appointment earlier in the week. We arrived at the spa 10 minutes early. I had no problem waiting to be seen but our appointment didn't start till more than 20 minutes past our original appointment time. We waited even longer in the actual massage room just lying there. The massage itself was mediocre at best. I asked the lady doing my massage to not be too rough (I read in some bad reviews that some had that experience). I had the opposite, where my massage was way too light. I did end up asking to up the intensity but due to the language barrier I don't think she understood because she continued with the very light massaging. There was a part where I was given a scalp massage but her nails were scratching so roughly that this made it not enjoyable. It was pointless trying to ask for adjustments or to focus on a specific area. It's great that a lot of people had a good experience. I would use caution if you do book here as it seems a bit unpredictable and your experience is going to rely heavily on the person massaging. I wish I could say I enjoyed my experience, but it was not worth the money. The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 is because my boyfriend said he enjoyed his massage. read more

I had high hopes for this place but I left before I could get any service done because I felt so uncomfortable. First, I tried asking the guy at the front desk which type of massage he recommended, but then he just decided for me and called someone back. Then, a guy came up to take me back into a room which smelt like smoke and seemed a little musty. Then, I realized this guy was the one giving me a massage and not just prepping me... which is really what got me bc I was not asked if I wanted a female ... which I definitely did. I went back up front to talk to the guy at the front desk, and without apologizing, just said he would get me a female. That's when I noticed some of the women working there were peaking around the corner looking at me? After that I just decided to leave bc I was not about to relax after all that. For context, I am not from this area and am from the widwest, so maybe I'm not used to how things are done here, but I do know back home I was able to get a $30 massage (from a girl still in school) and was asked way more questions about my needs and felt way more comfortable! read more

We started with the steam room, washed off in the locker room, had a facial and foot massage in 1 room, and lastly, were brought to another room for our 1 hour full body massage. Felt super relaxed when this was all done. I was surprised to have two sets of massages, I'm so used to just having one. We were a little confused with the steam room, we didn't know how long we were supposed to stay in there and left when it got too much. We thought and were hoping we got access to their salt sauna, but unfortunately we didn't. Allan was a great masseuse. Pressure was good. Spa is beautiful! Loved the decor and it was clean. Mt boyfriend decided to book a couple's getaway for my birthday here. This cute Asian paradise spa is tucked away rather unassumingly in Hillcrest, and you're popped with beautiful decor and warm air (a stark difference to the 62° day outside). To start the three hour adventure, we were given entry to a private steam sauna, which was so filled with steam that we could barely see our hand in front of our face - it was glorious. The second part was foot reflexology with a nice warm foot bath while they (very thoroughly) massage everywhere else. This was a communal area with two other seating spots across the room. The final ending was a full body table massage. They were, again, very thorough. He asked if I wanted light or firm pressure, and as always, I opted for firm - and he delivered. He even commented that he doesn't normally press that hard, but it felt SO nice. You do get I think a 5% discount if you use cash, so I recommend doing that, and bring enough for a tip! read more

The lady who helped me was very rough and after I didn't feel relaxed, I felt beat up. My mom said she felt the same. The room where had message was freezing. The price was ok, we got ruby package and paid $480 for 3 people. I don't go to spas a lot but I get messages regularly. I think the ladies who helped us didn't have much training. I wish I could have asked where she learned her techniques! The salt sauna was pleasant but we were in it for maybe 10 minutes, I could have stayed in it longer. It was easy to book an appointment for the same week. We were visiting out of town so I was reading reviews like crazy and this one seemed to be the most recommended and best price. Especially for the couples massage deal. I was afraid of hard to find parking, but since we were one of the earlier appointments, they do have a small parking lot (4 spaces) about a block away which was very helpful. This is not your high end luxury spa, more like low-mid, but they TRY to be fancy. Wish they would have been better about explaining what you were doing, since they just wave you over here and go over there. We got changed into only towels to go to the steam sauna, it was nice but then we didn't know how long we were meant to stay in there!!?? We peeked out, and then that's how we knew we were done? Then we had a "facial", scalp massage and foot scrub at the same time. The "facial" was not a facial lol. It was like a dry face massage. We did get a face mask after. Then you go to the hot sauna with tea which was nice, then again, you leave at your own according before you get the 1 hour massage. They get 5/5 for their massage. My husband LOVED it. he said she got out allll his knots and even paid for 30 mins more. I want to note they never asked if we wanted male or female, this is my first time with a male masseuse. I was slightly uncomfortable with it, but it was fine. He did a good job with the massage. Overall, it was well priced, our bodies feel great/ bruised up haha but in a good way.
