I've been here a few times and it's a blast each time! We went today and did the standard 60 minute session with the three of us. We were the only people there for the first half of our session so it was nice and quiet. Our instructor was Wyatt and he was great - very friendly and personable. He gave us a good refresher and helped us with our technique when we were struggling. The space is good with multiple bays, so it's usually pretty easy to book a slot. They replace the boards when they get too banged up and turn them into firewood, so it's pretty sustainable too. There is a gender-neutral bathroom that is clean and there are plenty of parking spots. The area looks sus, but it's fine. You can see the parking lot from the bays so you can keep an eye on your car if you're worried. I'll definitely be back in the future. This was so much fun. I got a group of 4 work friends together and 2 other folks joined us as walk-ins, and from the get-go we all had a blast. We were all total noobs to axe-throwing. Our axe-pert, Krista, was awesome and rolled with all our horrible puns and smack-talking, and it felt like we'd all known each other for years. This place is rad! I've been there several times and the last time I went the guy behind the counter remembered me! Great place to go when you have a group of people and you want to do something out of the norm! One of the employees will join the group and show you the ropes first. Then they hang out and keep score while you throw axes! Occasionally you'll have to share the board with other people, unless your group is large enough to fill the 10 person spot. But, it's still absolutely fun! $30 a person, and a three drink limit, as they sell beer, hard cider and hard seltzers. Although it seems dangerous, I feel very safe after going through the rules, and having someone there with us while we throw. Don't be shy, let them play with you, they have some cool tricks up their sleeves! The workers all seem to have a blast working there. Make sure you tip them too. This place is great! We booked ahead (on the day of) for Friday night and the other people that had reserved the same spot ended up backing out so my husband and I got our "cube" to ourselves. Gabe was our "axepert" and he was great! He walked us through how to throw both sizes of axes and the rules and then let us throw for awhile. He gave advice on how to fix things if we were having problems and also cheered us on when we did well. I can see this being so much fun with a big group of people. But honestly I had a ton of fun being just us two because we got the throw the whole time! They have a few games you can play too. Also, they offer chips and snacks, as well as drinks and some beers for purchase. But no drinks or food in the cubes! Keep in mind it gets loud in this space so if you're jumpy or sensitive to noise, probably not for you! Remember to wear close toed shoes (definitely not heels) and clothing that allows you to reach over your head easily. read more

From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed with a friendly greeting and smile from the nice guy at the front. He was super helpful and made us feel comfortable and excited to be there. It is a big space inside too. They have many rooms for separate parties to be in and throw axes. They serve drinks and snacks. You get a teacher that goes over the rules, and stays with you and your group, to help show you the best way throw the axe. Then we played a few games and that was a blast. The time flew by! I wouldn't have thought to come here except for a Yelp event (thanks, Yelp!). And who knew that throwing axes could be so fun? (If a tad frustrating, for those who are as bad as I am!) The person who worked there gave us helpful suggestions and strategies for hitting the target... or just hitting anything at all. It's a difficult sport that takes patience and practice, but everyone improved their game with the coaching they gave us, and it felt safer and more controlled than I expected. They said the worst injury anyone has gotten is a splinter. (That said, the moment you drink too much and become visibly drunk, they stop letting you throw axes. Good on them.) They have a bar and a private room that you can rent for events. A solid place for a special occasion. read more

Decided to give axe throwing a try for Father's Day and we had so much fun at Oregon Axe! The staff are friendly and helpful. It was our first time so they gave us a helpful demonstration then provided helpful feedback as we practiced. There are different rules you can follow to keep the games interesting and they have different projections (targets) that provide more of a challenge and keep it competitive. What can I say... 6 guys who call themselves "The Village Idiots" out to have a good time. This place was awesome! I have been to a couple throwing places, and Oregon Axe was as nice as any other. The staff was friendly, helpful, and a good bit of fun. I am still surprised they did not bat an eye when one of our group told them he was blind (yes, actually blind). The staff members moved in a little closer to keep a bad bounce from hitting our friend, and they allowed me to guide him in and stand guard just in case an axe came too close on the rebound. Heck! My friend won the last game for our team, so a good time was had by all! If I have a criticism, it is that the drink choices are not so vast... but then sharp objects and alcohol have a limited safe interaction zone. And I guess at $25 a person, you'd figure the non-alcoholic stuff would be free at least... but I am being picky! read more

This was so much fun! Great date night or group activity! Basically your kind of in these cool batting cages, two at a time throwing axes. A total awesome tip is ask for area #1 because it has its own lounge area. Also going in even numbers of people because the games are based off of groups of two or one on one. Basically you check in they serve beer and a few alcoholic beverages. ( 3 drink limit for obvious reasons lol) also some snacks are available. There's an instructor who teaches you how to throw and runs games. Ours was the sweetest! We made sure to tip her extra! The only suggestion I would of made would maybe a little more freestyle time just to chuck the axes. But I'm sure if we had asked they would of accommodated it! It was an absolute great time! Its around 30$ and runs I think for an hour and a half. Another tip is if you prepay online its cheaper. Will totally go back soon.! read more

We visited Oregon Axe for the first time. My son had stopped by their booth at the Lane Co and the State Fair. We decided it was time to try it out together. The $25 might seem steep, but for 1.5 hours and personal instruction it was totally worth it. We are definitely going back again. I totally recommend it. read more
