Jennifer did my initial scans and was super nice, quick, and explained everything to me very clearly. The process was easy and painless thanks to her. I went with the Nikon eye scan instead of a dilation because I had to drive after and I'm so glad I did. I waited for a bit while Dr. Phillips finished with his previous patient and looked over my scans and paperwork, then he came out and got me for my exam. He was very thorough and showed me my eye scan. I got a new prescription and he walked me out to the lobby again. Alana helped me pick frames and lenses. She picked out several options for me and I picked the one I liked the most with her support. She was very nice the whole time and took the stress out of the whole process. I put off getting new glasses for 14 years because of the stress and anxiety associated with going to the eye doctor and adjusting to new lenses and frames each time your prescription changes. The people here made the entire process so easy that I am confident I won't have any reservations about keeping up with regular exams again.

Doing so has greatly changed my life for the better. The high degree of expertise, patience and direction produced a pair of problem solving frames and lenses that other establishments including low vision experts told me would be impossible. And my new glasses look and feel great. These professionals are truly remarkable.

They have done magic for me and for the friends I have pointed to their care. I am always impressed how well they take care of there patients, even the cranky ones. Recently I had a sudden serious and dangerous vision event. I called the Eye Center on a Friday afternoon. When I explained my symptoms to the wonderful receptionist she quickly spoke to Dr. Walker who had me come in immediately. When I arrived I felt like royalty. The entire staff came to my assistance quickly as a fine tuned team addressing my problem, getting me on the road to quick recovery. The doctors and every staff member saved and greatly improved my eyesight that late Friday afternoon. I will be eternally grateful for the compassion, expertise and professionalism that would be near to impossible to be found elsewhere. Today I can see. Thank you Eye Center.

YELP Review I have problem with eye inflammation. Dr…read more Beardsly was training for eye deseases at OHSU. I met him there while he was finishing training with top specialist, Dr. Rosenbaum. Later I was finally able to find outside care for my situation, however, Portland or California was the only places I could find treatment. Dr. Beardsly had setup his office in Eugene and has extended offices and his services to satellites offices nearer to Grants Pass. I feel like I get just what I need. The service is good and yet the office is busy. I needed additional special care for one thing and they were helpful getting me to where I needed to go for treatment.

Don't let the cavalier and good natured persona of Dr. Beardsley fool you. He is a Dr. Jekyll and…read moreMr. Hyde. He can turn on a dime and get angry and start yelling. I called him out on his inconsistencies he had said to me previously and he completely lost control, yelled at me and walked out of the exam room and then charged for a long visit that took less than 5 minutes with no exam or medical treatment. I had a previous retina detachment that wasn't completely sealed and had formed a bubble. Dr. Beardsley said that we'll watch it and if it needs to be repaired, I'll be able to have the same laser procedure that I had before to repair it, but it wasn't a condition where I would go blind. We watched it and it got a little bigger and he said I had to have a surgery in a surgical center with anesthesia. When I questioned him about what he had said before, he immediately got angry and said I was going to go blind if I didn't have the surgery. I fully intended on having the problem fixed, but I didn't want an invasive surgery that before he said I wouldn't need and wanted to know why it couldn't be repaired the way he originally said. He refused to answer my questions and then angrily yelled at me and walked out of the exam room. I have had a number of retina detachments and with the first one I saw Dr. Beardsley. He said I had to immediately have surgery in a hospital. (At that time he operated in a hospital instead of a surgical center.) I was from out of town and simply couldn't do it immediately for a number of reasons and he argued with me that I had to or go blind. I said I just couldn't do it right then the next day. Only then did he say that he could put a bubble in my eye and the retina repaired a week later in the office with a laser procedure. I then was able to have the procedure done in my home town by another doctor without having to travel and having an invasive surgery that is much more likely to have complications, especially with other eye surgery I've had. When I mentioned this interaction, he yelled, "I never put a bubble in your eye." Well, he did but didn't remember and insisted he hadn't. If he looks back at his records, he will see he was dead wrong. I subsequently saw another retina specialist that repaired the retina in office with the laser procedure that I had had before in office without invasive surgery, anesthesia or having to travel 260 miles round trip to a surgical center. I suspect Dr. Beardsley missed out on a big pay day by not being able to perform that surgery that he insisted on and maybe that is why he got so angry. He also missed out on the first time I saw him.

A friends husband had recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Neale and was very satisfied with his work and really enjoyed Dr. Neale's personality. I made an appointment and immediately felt like he cared about me. I have never felt rushed by Dr. Neale and he never makes me feel silly for asking questions or feeling scared of having eye surgery at 49. I had my first eye done in June of 2020 and it went quite well. The next eye was done in July of 2020 and I'd noticed I was seeing differently between eyes. Dr. Neale explained he'd used an acrylic lens in the left eye as it is traditionally better for those of us with astigmatism, however it was creating 'tunnel vision' for me. He offered to re-do the surgery with no out of pocket for me. In Jan. 2021 he redid the surgery and implanted a silicone lens and I am very happy with the results. I see 20/15 in my right eye now and 20/25 in my left eye! I no longer need glasses for distance! Dr Neale was quick to respond to concerns I had regarding an issue with a nurse allowing her mask to slip below her nose and ushering a post-surgery client awaiting their ride to the waiting area without a mask. He has implemented a 'pager' system now for the patient's rides so they can be notified easier post surgery rather than waiting for phone calls to be received/answered (which was why this patient was waiting without a mask for so long in the lobby). I will say, that most of the time I've had to go in, the visits take an hour or more. Dr. Neale deals with lots of people that are elderly or on the verge of losing their sight so I understand when I have to wait for long periods as I'd want him to spend all of the time that I needed with me if I was in crisis too. I appreciate Dr. Neale's compassion, smarts, presence and abilities. He has a patient for life in me! Thank you for saving my vision Dr. N! Highly recommend Dr. Neale for cataract or lens implant surgery!

They scheduled him for cataract surgery. Told him to be at the hospital at 7am for the procedure. Waited 1.75hrs before they even called him back then started the surgery 1 hr late. Took him to a follow up that same afternoon after the surgery. 3:30pm appt time. We ended up seeing Dr Neale just before 5pm!! And when my dad mentioned he was not happy about the wait time Dr Neale acted like we were the ones being rude and he literally talked so fast through all of like 3 minutes of follow up time. So we waited an hour and a half there to have about 3 minutes with the Dr acted like it was rude of us to say something about that. Today in total between both appointments we spent over 3 hours just waiting for them. I can understand running late some of the time but consistently making patients wait for hours is terrible business practice. I don't think they would like their time being treated that way.
