YELP Review I have problem with eye inflammation. Dr. Beardsly was training for eye deseases at OHSU. I met him there while he was finishing training with top specialist, Dr. Rosenbaum. Later I was finally able to find outside care for my situation, however, Portland or California was the only places I could find treatment. Dr. Beardsly had setup his office in Eugene and has extended offices and his services to satellites offices nearer to Grants Pass. I feel like I get just what I need. Don't let the cavalier and good natured persona of Dr. Beardsley fool you. He is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He can turn on a dime and get angry and start yelling. I called him out on his inconsistencies he had said to me previously and he completely lost control, yelled at me and walked out of the exam room and then charged for a long visit that took less than 5 minutes with no exam or medical treatment. I had a previous retina detachment that wasn't completely sealed and had formed a bubble. Dr. Beardsley said that we'll watch it and if it needs to be repaired, I'll be able to have the same laser procedure that I had before to repair it, but it wasn't a condition where I would go blind. We watched it and it got a little bigger and he said I had to have a surgery in a surgical center with anesthesia. When I questioned him about what he had said before, he immediately got angry and said I was going to go blind if I didn't have the surgery. I fully intended on having the problem fixed, but I didn't want an invasive surgery that before he said I wouldn't need and wanted to know why it couldn't be repaired the way he originally said. He refused to answer my questions and then angrily yelled at me and walked out of the exam room. I have had a number of retina detachments and with the first one I saw Dr. Beardsley. He said I had to immediately have surgery in a hospital. (At that time he operated in a hospital instead of a surgical center.) I was from out of town and simply couldn't do it immediately for a number of reasons and he argued with me that I had to or go blind. I said I just couldn't do it right then the next day. Only then did he say that he could put a bubble in my eye and the retina repaired a week later in the office with a laser procedure. I then was able to have the procedure done in my home town by another doctor without having to travel and having an invasive surgery that is much more likely to have complications, especially with other eye surgery I've had. When I mentioned this interaction, he yelled, "I never put a bubble in your eye." Well, he did but didn't remember and insisted he hadn't. If he looks back at his records, he will see he was dead wrong. I subsequently saw another retina specialist that repaired the retina in office with the laser procedure that I had had before in office without invasive surgery, anesthesia or having to travel 260 miles round trip to a surgical center. I suspect Dr. Beardsley missed out on a big pay day by not being able to perform that surgery that he insisted on and maybe that is why he got so angry. He also missed out on the first time I saw him. read more

Dr. Beardsley got me out of a jam caused by my previous eye doctor (AKA Dr. No.1) who had done some cataract surgery on me. For some inexplcable reason Doctor No.1 left pieces of the old lens in my eye after changing out the old lenses for new ones. My eye got severely inflamed. Doctor No.1 thought I had an infection and immediately sent me to Oregon Eye Consultants and Dr. Beardsley for treatment. He immediately found chunks of the old lens in my eye and scheduled another procedure to clean out the junk left behind by Dr. No.1. Everything went very well, I recovered my eyesight and am now in good shape. So, honestly, I am grateful for a doctor who knew what he was doing--or at least paid attention to what he was doing. I'm writing this to give a shoutout for a doctor who does great work and has a great "bedside manner" in terms of interfacing with patients. And I've never had any scheduling or money problems with the front office either. read more

I had an appointment scheduled at 10:00am with Dr. Aryah today, July 3. I received a confirmation voice mail on June 30, a reminder text on June 26, and another reminder text on July 2. When I showed up for my appointment this morning, the receptionist told me that Dr. Aryah wasn't in today and that they "couldn't get ahold of me." Obviously, that is far from true. When I looked up the voice mail and started to tell her what it said, she had turned away and had started to talk to someone on the phone. Wow, how rude can you get?! An apology was in order. I'm angry about the way I was treated and angry that my time was wasted. This is NO way to treat patients. read more

Dr Beardsley has good bedside manners and makes you feel it ease. The only negative thing is that they try to shove as many people through as possible. Leaving you waiting for hours to be seen but once you were seen things run very smoothly. read more

This Eye Clinic is one of the best I have been to. It is clean and organized. The front desk personnel were very informative and kind. The intake nurse, Heidi, was very personable and gentle. The wait-for-the-pupils-to-dilate sitting area lighting was dim enough to see and relax before being seen by the doctor. My doctor, Dr. Aryha, was efficient, thorough, and made sure all my questions and concerns were answered. I highly recommend him and this clinic. The only down side is such a small detail, but the chair seat in the room had a tear in it. I took this as showing how often it has been used -a good thing! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this office, Dr. Beardsley and all the staff and technicians here. I went to Suite 4 for a retina consultation after being completely freaked out by my optometrist in LA by a retinal hole they discovered during my yearly eye exam. I was also mildly panicked based on some reviews for Oregon Eye Consultants, but I have to say, they were amazing, and I highly recommend them. Not only did Oregon Eye Consultants fit me in really fast for a consultation (the very next day), but everyone was incredibly nice, efficient, and helpful. Other reviewers have mentioned wait times or not being able to get them on the phone. I called three times over two days, and each time the phone was answered by someone super helpful and kind. When they did make the appointment, they warned me to be prepared for about an hour and a half total, and it was way faster than that (I was there including filling out my initial paperwork) for about 45 minutes. One of the technicians (I'm not sure what they're called in the eye world, but not the doctor and not the receptionist) told me to expect about an hour and a half for my surgery appointment because they're short staffed and explained the whole situation without me asking; as far as I can tell, they are incredibly honest and straightforward, which I appreciate. Dr. Beardsley was fantastic. He answered my laundry list of questions, and he put me at ease after I came in in panic mode. He also presented multiple options to handle my retina issues, which I appreciated, and thoroughly went over the pros and cons of them. The office, exam rooms, bathroom and waiting area are all super clean. It's an excellent location with great parking. I truly am pleased and am happy to have taken a chance and come here. I've been going to Oregon Eye Consultants for about 7 years. I had a tear in my retina and they got me in immediately and actually stayed open late so I could get laser surgery. Since then I go every 6 months for macular degeneration and cataracts. They are very efficient and professional, plus they travel to Newport. Very friendly staff! read more

Can I give negative reviews? This office was horrible and a complete waste of time and money. Dr Puckett spent maybe 30 seconds with me and dismissed any concerns I had. The text were horrible and extremely impersonable. I left with several questions and feeling completely dismissed. We called the office after we got back to work to see about getting something accomplished from this waste of a visit. The tech said they were leaving a sample pair of contacts at the desk for me to sample but they weren't even close to what I actually needed. We thankfully were able to get into another office locally for same day visit. The doctor office told me that the prescription I was given was extremely inaccurate. I will be reporting this to my insurance company as well as the medical board for the state. Don't waste your time and money at this office. read more

I was treated by Dr. Hunter for having my floaters removed in both eyes. At first I felt like just a number because OEC treats soooo many patients. My opinion changed quickly.
