Very professional and friendly bankers and tellers. They know their customers by names.

I used to bank with them years ago and my experience was not good. Drive up tellers were super nice but management was not. Fast forward, I'm now retired and thought I'd apply for a few jobs with them. Over the past 5 years I've probably applied for 4-5 jobs that I was more than qualified for...can't even land an interview. Same excuse "They had HUGE outpourings" for an entry level position. What I'm seeing is active discrimination against retirees. They want your investments 100%, just not your years of experience. read more

Horrible bank management! I don't even have this bank and I can tell the service here is awful. I had a problem with their atm machine ,and manager did nothing to help. Isn't that what a manager is their for to be helpful in that moment he could've told me he was going to call my bank the next morning to confirm my check wasn't deposited instead he sent me to figure out a problem that there atm machine did. Don't deposit your checks here or else they will never give it back if something goes wrong !!! read more

Never answer the damn phone, called basically every different extension from that branch on multiple occasions and no one ever answers the phone. They also screwed up dmv documents and never sent them out. The person helping didn't collect the correct amounts to be paid and didn't reach out until a month after, I was expecting the license plate for a month already, thinking they had gotten that taken care of. read more

I've been banking with this credit union since 2009/2010. Horrible customer service. They don't have an email to contact them (besides the form on their website that doesn't work on my phone or computer), and the only times I can get a call back from them is when I'm at work (7:30am until 5:30pm). I've called on Saturdays to address my issues with them, and they say they can't help and I need to be referred to a specialist... who then calls me during my work hours in the middle of the week, haha! I guess my issue is so urgent and important to them. It's almost impossible for me to step away while I'm at work, and my thirty minute lunch is not enough to sit on hold and wait for someone to push my problems to the side again. (They also charge a $15 fee for nothing if you want to pay a loan payment over the phone. I'll pass.) Closing my account ASAP. read more

I bought a new car and the dealership set up an auto loan through Oregon State because they had the lowest interest rate. I was told I had to provide a checking account so that my payments would be set up for autodraft, which I did. It took several weeks and many phone calls for me to get access to Oregon State's online banking site just to see my account information, and they have never sent me a single account statement in the mail. From the first day I tried to log into my online account I was locked out because someone put the wrong phone number on my account. I talked to several people on the phone who just kept giving me new temporary passwords, and just all around failing to address the actual problem. Eventually I was told "a specialist" from IT would contact me in 1 business day, but I never heard from them and called back myself a few days later to find out they had finally unfrozen the account. When I got into my online account I could see my balance but was blocked from making any payments; the site says I am ineligible because I don't have a checking account through Oregon State and to please contact them. Again I had to call them and was told "a specialist would contact me in 1 business day." I asked if I could just make my payment by phone since at this point my due date is coming up. They told me if I want to make a payment from a checking account at a separate institution they would charge a $5-$15 fee which seemed unreasonable, especially since I was told my payments would be autodrafted (though that was likely the dealer's error). All branches are in Salem and surrounding areas, otherwise I'd just go try to deal with this in person. Really bummed I set up this loan since this credit union is proving so incredibly difficult to deal. I would rather pay a slightly high interest rate on a loan to get better customer service honestly. ***Update: An assistant branch manager did actually call me back the next day and she was very nice and helpful. She said that my loan payment is in fact set up to be autodrafted from my checking account, and called in to verify it with the other department that handles those types of loans. It think I was having so many difficulties because I always had to talk to "after hours" representatives. These people couldn't really help me with my account, they just try a couple scripted prompts and then leave a note for someone else to fix it. read more

I have been banking at this location for roughly eight years, have had multiple unsecured loans with them and not one late payment. I went in to try to refinance my pick up to get my elderly very ill father off the loan and to try and reduce the payment. The credit bureau they use had a lower score than the one I get to see each month through Capital One, though the guy there thought we would be ok as I DID NOT want to run my credit if we weren't close. Underwriter reviewed it and counter offered something ridiculous. If you want a credit union that does not treat you based on numbers alone (just like a bank)......don't go here.. It's very disappointing and I will be moving my business else where. read more

I think they are pretty good. Local not a huge bank so more trustworthy, but I also have an account at Wells Fargo and their fine by me. I think this bank has a personal touch though with nice bank tellers. Credit unions are better in general. read more
