Great juice and smoothies. Really nice staff. Love this place and I'm not even a vegan. The cakes are really nice too.

I had seen the whole raw and gluten free focus they had and had been intrigued to see how good this would be. Plus it was around a 10 min walk from Chez Moi so perfect. The whole raw thing tends to be associated with being vegan in an uber healthy kind of way. I'm used to the whole vegan-gluten free thing but sometimes I want healthy food thats not necessarily vegan or vegetarian. Gram's totally fit the bill in this respect. The cakes look and taste amazing with many vegan and gluten free options so nice tick in the box. Some cool flavoured sodas are also available. I was hungry though so I went for one of the salads but loved that these weren't pure vegetables and you could get chicken, beef or salmon too. Yum, huge portion with (for me) lots of salmon and rainbow colours of veggies. I felt super healthy having a lovely balanced meal. I couldn't resist without trying the cake so got a strawberry & cream cheesecake which was beautiful. I was probably around £13 for my salad, soda and cake. There's not a huge amount of seats so you may have to lurk until someone leaves although take away is available. Great addition to Haymarket with lovely options and helpful staff if you have dietary requirements and need to double check what is suitable.

The first try was in the evening by and the wait was full. The second time was at lunch and with luck we got in. It is a pleasure! There are two places a few doors apart. One for reservations and one for the walk-ins. The place is modern and rustic, fits the vibe of the city. The staff are friendly and efficient with lots of knowledge about the food. The meal was outstanding. For a casual dining experience. This is a wonderful option. The haggis was a great version and the mash is lovely. Slightly creamy with the added flavors make it more than basic mash. The bacon and onion was not overpowering and complimented the haggis wonderfully. The lamb was perfect, fell off the bone with a deep rich sauce. The scotch bonnet added flavor without a lot of heat. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and still crispy. Everything was fresh and bright and balanced. We fully loved the entire experience!

The Haggis Box is perfectly located on The Royal Mile heading towards Holyrood House. Quick note on finding it...there is construction on the front of the building so if you're heading in that direction (Down the Royal Mile, toward Holyrood House) you might not notice the entrance...you can get in through a small door to the left of the scaffolding, and if you pass all that you'll see the restaurant signage and another door to the right of the scaffolding.) You order at the counter, and they bring it to the table. The vegetarian haggis was good...you can pick from a couple different sauces. We had the more traditional whisky and mustard sauce. Haggis, at least in our experience on this trip, having the vegetarian version at a few different places, doesn't have a ton of flavor on its own, so it really depends on the sauce to make or break the dish. In this case, the sauce made the dish! They're very vegetarian-friendly here...they have both vegetarian and vegan versions of their haggis, which we hadn't seen anywhere else (lots of vegetarian or vegan haggis in Scotland...but both options in one place...go Haggis Box!) We also tried an Irn Bru...granted that's not specific to this place, but they had it. We tried it. No offense, Scotland, I don't think we need to have it again. ;) The Haggis Box had other vegetarian options too, including quiche, soup, and porridge (aka oatmeal), so if you're a vegetarian like me, you will have plenty to choose from at The Haggis Box. Well worth a lunch stop here to try vegetarian Haggis!

We ordered a Traditional Haggis with the Whisky and Mustard Sauce and an order of the Scotch Eggs (served cold). Now, the haggis was delicious especially with the tasty sauce poured over it. The dish was served over a bed of turnips and mashed potatoes (neeps & tatties). Very traditional and tasty. Definitely worth the visit for this dish. The Scotch Eggs were not too tasty and I'm not sure why they were served cold. My wife says she's had them warm before and tasted much better that way. This was my first time trying Scotch Eggs so I didn't know what to expect. This dish was served with salad and potato chips (crisps). I did have a Thistly Cross Scottish Cider with this meal and that was very good. I'll keep an eye out for this cider elsewhere for future drinking occasions. Go here for the great haggis and super casual ambiance.

We decided on this restaurant late in the day, and the only reservation was late...we took it but showed up a couple hours early, and with a short wait, they were able to seat us at a nice table on a busy evening. Grateful for that! My wife and I shared two starters, the final and the smoked tofu. We loved everything about both of these dishes in taste and presentation. We also shared the Double-Baked Pudding - a delicate dish sort of like a soufflé made with a nice cheese ambiance about it. Really good flavors and Scottish ingredients for the win. We liked it, though the starters were definitely the stars of the meal for us. We didn't have a cocktail as we were heading out to a whisky bar later (and we have limits ;) but the cocktail menu looked delicious and what we saw being delivered to other tables also had as second guessing those limits we have for ourselves. We're lucky to have stumbled on this spot...off the beaten path, but close enough to the Royal Mile to make it accessible on foot. She's very friendly and professional. For lunch we chose several starters and a main. The starters included the short crust tart that was a delicate pastry filled with clarified onion and cheese. Totally delicious. My wife enjoyed the dinner salad with very fresh veggies. We also chose the lemon braised fennel and David's tofu. We were trying to she appetite for dinner and only ordered one main, the Koftas. They are like an eggplant felafel. They were delicious. The slightly spicy curry sauce in which they were served was also great.
