I'm truly puzzled by this place. I came here with high expectations due to the incredibly high ratings, and found this place to be a shambles, with very mediocre food. Would I return or recommend? Sadly not despite how much I want to support vegan joints. First off, we ordered and were told 20-25 minutes. At the 40 minute mark I saw my burgers finally make it to the takeout boxes. It wasn't until the 50 minute mark that the fries were ready. The burgers sat for 10 minutes and were cool by the time the order was up. Did we complain, yes, but only to the cook. I didn't ask for a replacement as I wasn't prepared to wait another 40-50 minutes for a replacement. The seating area had crumbs all over the ground, trash cans overflowing, and the tables had plenty of crumbs and leftover sauces from previous customers. There was the owner/order taker and another guy who worked the register area. It wasn't until we were ready to go before they only wiped a table for some of their friends. None of the other tables were touched. I had the vegan bacon burger with cheese and fries. Super thick bun, very thin patty. Ratio was way off. Didn't even taste the bacon, and it didn't help that it was cool, which I think dampened the flavors which were were at this point non-existent. The burger was very mediocre. I have eaten hundreds of burgers in my life, and many were meatless, this does not rank in the upper half. The fries however rocked. They were freshly cooked and very flavorful. Nice crunchy exterior. Overall it was a disappointment. I love to visit local vegan spots and this seemed like it would be a hit based on the reviews. Unfortunately that was not my experience. I visited twice during my recent stay in Miami. It was worth both the calories and the cost of my Lyft fare from South Beach. Zero regrets! Buffalo Vegan Wings - yummy flavor and the protein had great consistency. It wasn't too chewy and there was no weird aftertaste. Excellent execution. When ordering this again, I'd ask for a side of buffalo sauce for dipping. That's my only complaint, I wanted more sauce. Burgers were delicious and I'm a super fan of their chipotle mayo. Vegan Shrimp with a Bang - another delicious entree! I requested extra chipotle sauce for my dipping pleasure and enjoyed every bite. Fries - I tried both the french fries and sweet potato fries. Typically, I always choose french fries, but I'm so happy I tried their sweet potato fries. They are my favorite. And that marshmallow dipping sauce? Chef's kiss! The employee taking our order was very nice and friendly. There was plenty of seating, all protected from the elements. The music and overall aesthetic provided a very laid back, chill, yet funky-cool vibe. Be aware that you'll want to check the trailer counter for your order. Several of us waited for quite some time, not realizing that no one would call out our number. So we were just sitting there waiting, and so was our food. I love fake shrimp, when it's done right. Organic Food Kings is that spot that gets it totally right. I came here when we first visited Miami before we moved here, and I was thrilled to find it. Their vegan shrimp and vegan chicken are awesome, both of which I'm usually a bit more wary of. I'm used to vegan beef these days because of impossible / beyond, but I am obsessed with fake shrimp. I love that I can get "creamier" things without getting indigestion also because it's all vegan! 10/10 recommend. My favourite place for vegan street food. It's basically a parked food truck next to a patio. Their loaded hotdog is amazing and I strongly recommend it. This is a food truck located in the parking lot shared with the post office in Midtown, off Miami Avenue. The venue is outdoors, employees wear masks (some of them, however, with the nose off, denying the purpose of the mask altogether). Reaggeton is blasting off the speakers making it somewhat difficult to have a conversation. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the miami burger. The tacos were served in a soft flour tortilla, with deep fried battered faux shrimp, salsas, and a few strands of cabbage. The concoction was good, but in my opinion could do with some acid and less sugar. The burger was served in a soft and pillowy bun, and the patty had perfectly caramelized edges. It came with a side of crunchy sweet potato fries, themselves accompanied by a dipping sauce that was overly sweet and unnecessary. We also ordered the lemonade and the mango lemonade, both very good but very heavy on the sugar. All in all great vegan food if you want to pig out, but not exactly healthy. I heard about this vegan place in Midtown and decided to try it out. This foodtruck is located next to the post office, across from the shops at Midtown. Even though this is a foodtruck they have a covered area with several tables so you can enjoy your food surrounded by cool art on the walls. The ambience is casual and friendly. I ordered the cauliflower tacos and they were pretty tasty. The chipotle sauce went really well and was full of flavor. They also have smoothies, burgers and desserts so this is the perfect place for when you are craving vegan comfort food. Here's a helpful tip for those unfamiliar with the location, park in the post office parking lot. The staff was very friendly. The gentleman who took my order told me you cannot go wrong with ordering a burger because they are all good. So, I ordered the barbecue chicken sandwich. I loved the texture and taste of the chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan of the combination of pickled cabbage and pickles on the sandwich. Otherwise, the sandwich was good. I would recommend ordering without pickles or pickled purple cabbage (say that three times ). A mixed bag Organic Food Kings recently changed locations, and it now has a home in midtown. Let's talk first about the food. The menu has options ranging from burgers to tacos, but the highlight is definitely the burger. Each burger goes for around ~15 and includes a side of fries; this is very competitive when compared to other plant based burgers. The combinations offered go from the classic to some very unique combinations such as with mango salsa. And the burgers are good, not the best plant based burger i have tried but they are good. My biggest issue with Organic Food Kings was the atmosphere. The music was intolerable, and the seating arrangement is not the most welcoming (although tolerable for a food truck). All in all, if you want a decent plant based burger Organic Food Kings is a good option for takeout. I had the Hulk smoothie and Yeti Burger w fries, both delicious and huge! The fries had MSG or DSG on them or some part because I have a reaction to it, which is a swollen tongue dry mouth and I can't sleep. I didn't have other food that day. I think this is the absolute last time I'm patronizing any "vegan" joint in Miami, and I might even include metro Fort Lauderdale in that. Let's start with what's good. I ordered the chipotle cheeseburger which came with fries for $13.75, pretty affordable for the Wynwood/Midtown area. The burger was actually pretty tasty & juicy, the seasoned fries weren't bad at all, but unfortunately, I didn't have any ketchup to eat them with, which I will explain below. This is a food truck with limited parking and lots of outdoor seating, I'm not sure if they have restrooms though. OK, now the bad. The name says "Organic Food Kings", so I think it's fair to say they cook and serve organic food? This is what it says on their about section of their website: "We are family owned and operated. Our goal is to raise awareness on plant-based eating, through our all vegan meals, we have something for everybody. We use organic vegan ingredients, everything is made fresh daily. We strive to provide excellent customer service. We hope that we can bring healthy vegan comfort food to our community." So explain to me why I was given commercially packaged ketchup made with High-Fructose Corn Syrup, the worst and most popular GMO food additive used in processed foods? https://bit.ly/3rpYmK5 This is why I avoid vegan restaurants & bakeries, literally none of them are organic, and all of the vegan bakeries I've seen use GMO corn and granulated white sugar. But this is the first vegan restaurant I've seen claim to be Organic and have the iron balls to serve me condiment sauces with GMO ingredients. Once I saw the high-fructose corn syrup in the ketchup ingredients I nearly threw the burger in the garbage, which I should have done if I truly valued my health but I didn't. I'm sure if they are serving GMO condiment sauces, they are not serving organic food either, vegan yes, organic no. I'm not sure what the covid guidelines are in Miami because I live in Broward, but one of the dudes handling the food in the truck was not wearing a mask. Personally, I don't care because I cannot be infected by viruses, but think about others, Miami is also one of the hotbeds for the canary virus. I got the vegan chipotle burger with sweet potato fries and my gf got the bbq chicken sandwich. we also got two smoothies and let me tell you...as a recent vegetarian I literally have no need to stress when I get that burger or fried chicken craving.
