On my way to the Cal Berkeley vs UCLA game we stopped here to grab a smoothie. Honestly it's not the type of place that would catch your eye but once inside you'll be glad you came. They have quite a selection of smoothies, fresh pressed juices and salads. If you're vegan or vegetarian or looking to eat healthier I would recommend giving this place a try. I'm not a big fan of smoothies that are yogurt or milk based so I was glad they offered options that didn't consist of either. I also prefer fresh squeezed juices as a base rather than from concentrate, they did not disappoint! There was no line when I arrived. They offer indoor and outdoor seating though there isn't much of a view aside from normal street traffic. I thought it was cool they had air plants and succulent beds in the windows. The decor is modest, tables are clean and they offer reusable utensils. As I only purchased smoothies, there were straws on the tables as well. We ordered two Dr. Green smoothies and one Strawberry Shaka to be split between the girls. Everyone enjoyed their smoothies. The smoothies were quite refreshing, smooth and tasted delicious. I only wish they were closer to where I live so that I may visit more often. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop by!

The Tuna Avocado salad I had was great, I'll just lead with that!! They make the salad right in front of you, the place was empty when I came, so the service was quick. They gave me a lot of tuna, and it was very flavorful, I didn't even need to use the pesto dressing. They had outdoor seating, so I decided to eat here since it was a nice day. Everything tasted fresh, no doubt I would come here again!!

I've only had one meal here so I can't say this is an accurate review of the whole place, but what I will review is the salad--I got an italiano. On first glance, it looked like a hefty amount, but I think the proportions are off because within just a few bites I was completely done with the meat and toppings and I was just left with green leaves with barely any dressing left. It's a little expensive for 95% leaves and 5% everything else I'll come back for the smoothies and sandwiches and see if I can change my mind

Was looking for a nearby place where I could get a smoothie that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Organic Greens on Solano delivered! I got the Dr. Green smoothie and it was exactly what I wanted for a mid-afternoon pick me up. The smoothie was fresh, healthy, and affordable. I love getting smoothies but hate how expensive they can be. The Dr. Green was less than $8 The inside of the store is bright, clean, and comfortable. They also have a small outdoor section that's perfect for enjoying your food when the weather is nice. I didn't get any food but the salads looked delicious and much more affordable than places like Sweetgreen. I'll definitely be back to try those and their paninis soon! The service was quick and friendly and the quality of all the ingredients looked great, too!

I'm just glad Organic Greens has arrived on Solano even if it isn't the complete menu, at least during their soft opening phase. Healthy options are good for those of us still struggling with innately indiscriminate palates. I really had a hankering for the Zucchini Noodles they serve at their Kittredge Street location but was bummed when I didn't see it on the overhead menu. After some major eye-darting, I settled on the $10.99 Arugula Princess Salad, which turned out to be a good-size bowl of fresh and mostly sweet ingredients. It was all tied together by the baby arugula and the strawberry vinaigrette. Strawberries, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and red beets were counterbalanced by marinated chickpeas, ground pistachios, and radish slices (photo: http://bit.ly/2NUJJLW). It worked. Somewhat bereft without a Coke Zero option on the premises, I went for a $5.99 Mason jar mug of The Beet Monster, a not overly sweet combination of beets, red grapes, apple, cucumber, mint, and ginger (photo: http://bit.ly/36IxpH0). I felt healthier already. FOOD - 4 stars...healthy ingredients with genuine flavor AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...typical looking eatery on Solano SERVICE - 3.5 stars...a bit uncertain but delivered the goods TOTAL - 4 stars...now if they add the zucchini noodles, well... Organic. Flavorful. Satisfying. Nestled into a convenient corner of Solano you'll find the new Organic Greens. On the menu are smoothies, pressed juice, paninis, multiple signature salads, açaí bowls, wellness shots and a few dinner entrees. I came in for a late lunch and enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad. The buffalo flavor isn't spicy but rather wonderfully flavorful. A generous portion of dressing is mixed into the greens. Each ingredient tastes fresh. The Open sign wasn't on, but they were indeed open. I will return. Awesome salad.

I love Organic Greens! I order food from here at least once a week for hikes, picnics, or when I want to treat myself to a healthy lunch in between zoom calls. I've tried most of their salads and sandwiches. My favorite salad right now is the Thai Girl Salad and favorite sandwich is the prosciutto-mozzarella panini (honorable mention of the chicken pesto sandwich too!). If you order the Kale Chicken Cesar ask them to go east on the dressing. They really drown the Cesar salad for some reason. Today I tried the Grains & Greens Chicken Salad and while it's heavy on cabbage, it worked for me because I like cabbage. Not a huge fan of the arugula salads: Italiano Style Steak Salad was okay; the arugula was too bitter because not much else is going on in that one. The Arugula Princess Salad was also okay but I probably won't get it again. I usually order on DoorDash and select the pick up option. Super fast and easy.

A true hidden gem right at the bottom of Solano Ave in Albany!…read more I'm embarrassed to admit that Picnic has been around for about 5 years in the east bay and I've just tried it for the first time this week. But I'm so glad I was finally introduced to it. The staff greet you promptly when you enter and you can even watch them work effortlessly together in the open prep-station behind the counter. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it. They also sell whole smoked quail that are seasoned heavily yet each bite has just the right amount of smokiness, spices, and salt. Their hot food items and sandwiches are perfect for a quick lunch during your break from work or on your way home. There are also a few counter seats if you want to enjoy your meal there. So far I've tried the smoked quail, the Muffaletta sandwich, and their green lentil soup with chicken + veg. The sandwich was filled to the brim and each bite was a flavor bomb. The lentil soup was very comforting & paired well with the smoked quail. I'm looking forward to trying everything they have to offer.

They were very happy with their arugula salads. I ordered the mac n cheese which was okay. Even though I grew up in El Cerrito, I sometimes feel like my NorCal green card has expired. I've lost touch with my small batch, organic self. (Although I have never liked arugula) This store is adorable and just the kind of independent neighborhood place that should be frequented and appreciated. Unfortunately I also had to use the bathroom and they don't have one for customers. So they recommended walking a block away to the BevMo. So I guess that added some negative feelings.

I only ate the Smoked Salmon, so I can only review that one. I enjoyed it! There was a lot of smoked salmon (dare I say too much?) and it tasted of... smoked salmon. The sandwich was filling because of how much salmon there was. The bread was kind of thin and falling apart so it was a little messy to eat. The sandwich would have been better with hardier slices of bread and more evenly spread salmon. I heard good reviews about the other sandwiches. I purchased drinks from Young's while my sandwiches were being made. Parking was surprisingly easy (Sunday at 11am).

Sometimes it's good to try something different and a place with some interesting character and characters. I usually get deli sandwiches which have deli meats but this place has fried chicken sandwiches . So I was craving a sandwich so I headed to Crave Subs in Downtown Berkeley next to BART station. They have lots of sandwiches available on the menu. On a Summer stroll getting some sun in Downtown Berkeley I landed at Crave Subs. Inside it's like you stepped into an ice cream parlor with a comic book shop and arcade and a deli all at the same time. You will see sandwiches on the menu called the Pikachu, Ned Flanders, and Bart Simpson. You will see Chewbacca fries along with the Spider-Man fries and the vegan Sailormoon fries. I got the Captain Boom Halal Fried Chicken, Boom Boom Sauce, Cheddar Cheese and Crave Sauce on a roll. It was tasty and a bit crunchy and had lots of flavor. It's one of the best Halal chicken sandwiches I had. If you crave a fried chicken sandwich then Crave Subs is the spot. One of my biggest pet peeves is when restaurants reduce the guality or quantity of their meal to cut costs while charging premium prices. I will say I didn't mind paying a few dollars more for their subs in the past. I went there today for the first time in a couple of years, ordered a regular size basic ruben sandwich (no add-ons) and was ok paying nearly $18 dollars for just the sandwich until they handed it to me. what I got was a small 6" sub. When did their subs shrink?? in this economy we are all struggling. I get it, things cost more but Craves' owner is not doing his patrons a service by charging them premiums while cutting back on the meals. If you're ok paying that much for a shrunken sub, more power to you. I l, however, will not be going back there.

We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails.
