Finally, a place to get a very good salad that's worth every cent! I realized this place has a couple of locations in Berkeley, but the parking is always a bitch. After this location took over the old, disgusting Subway Sandwich location, on Solano Avenue, in Albany, I found a spot to park right in front. It was about 4:15 so it wasn't busy at all, plus this location is fairly new and I'm sure folks will really enjoy this new arrival in this neighborhood. There are many salads to choose from, so I sat down and read a printed menu and took my time. I stood up and checked out the ingredients and everything look so fresh and the place was clean...always a good sign. This is one of the first times I didn't have to throw out old, wilted, you shouldn't serve this to customers ingredients and that made me a happy camper. I hate it when I have to pick through a salad and dig out inedible, old, sitting too long ingredients. I'm already thinking of going back tomorrow to try another salad, but today, I got the Greens and Grains with chicken salad and it was big enough for two people. I managed to eat it all by myself, though, and boy was it enjoyable. It contained cabbage, spinach, kale, quinoa, chickpeas, feta, red wine vinegar, tomatoes, scallions, peanuts, plus a big amount of not overcooked chicken along with lemon tahini dressing and hello...because I got this to go, they actually put the dressing on the side without me asking!! The salad was huge and it was only $11.25. Hell, some places charge much more, for a lot less and some sandwiches are more than this these days. I grabbed a printed menu to bring home so I could check out what I'm going to purchase next. Since I work in Berkeley, it's really easy for me to frequent this location. The employees were extremely friendly and we chatted about how I had heard about this location. I read the Berkeleyside website, which is very informative about all things Berkeley and in their "Nosh" section all things food in Berkeley including what's new, what's closed and extensive reviews about great places to check out and interviews with chefs. For a satisfying meal, I know where I'm headed when I want a bang for my buck. read more

We stopped by this place after a hike and ordered the ahi tuna poke salad and a chicken pesto panini. The bread used for the panini was nice and crisp and came with a small side salad. The ahi tuna salad was a generous portion and tasted fresh. There was a ten minute wait but there's plenty to see on Solano to keep you busy. We'll definitely be adding this to the weekly rotation. read more

We just discovered this delicious, healthy restaurant and we've visited at least 4 times in a short period of time, that's how good the salads are! Anthony and his team are super nice, it's always a pleasant experience. The salads are pretty big and packed, they're not stingy at all.
