I randomly came across this establishment. The name intrigued me because of organic obviously. It's located in the Elmwood neighborhood, directly on College Ave. Service was great, really nice workers who took my order and prepared it. The cashier was very patient with explaining on how I can order my food since you can customize your salads there. She also told me the differences between the salads that are on the menu. They definitely do give you a lot of food so the price makes sense. I got a chicken salad along with a decaf cappuccino. Love that they have decaf cappuccinos, I might just become a regular just for that option. The food was delicious, very filling. The spot gave very hole in the wall type of vibes but seems like they have plenty of space so people can dine in. read more

The food here is great and the patio is peaceful, especially nice on a sunny day. There's hardly ever a line and the food prep and service are efficient. It's pretty quiet right now but the perfect place for my little family. There's wifi so my toddler can plug in, an outdoor patio with umbrellas for shade, and really, really delicious drinks! My spouse got the Dr whatever smoothie and I got the Paradise juice. I love my juice. The princess salad lives up to its name! I added chicken on the side but it actually deters from the flavors so trust in the chickpeas for protein and don't be like me unless you have a protein minimum or something you gotta eat everyday. Freshly squeezed juices, a wide selection of organic salads suitable for those following special diets, vegan-V salads, and paninis Beet juice, often known as Beet Monster, is my favorite beverage. Very energizing drink to give me a lift. Additionally, the ingredients for the shrimp panini, chicken pesto, and the Dutch bread for the tuna panini are simply fantastic. They are located on three distinct locations: Solano Berkeley, College Avenue, and Kitteridge in downtown Berkeley. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor patio where you can continuously enjoy meal and work own at your privacy, additionally. I really like the salads from Organic Greens - they are quite substantial - I usually have leftovers. My husband goes for the panninis. They have a good selection of both. This place remains one of the most affordable meals in the Elmwood. There prices have gone up a bit, but not nearly as much as other nearby eateries. (Salads are $14 to $18. I like the veggie ones, which are on the lower end. Paninis are $15-17 and come with a side salad.) We generally get takeout, and appreciate that they use paper boxes rather than plastic containers. They do have a patio in the back if you want to eat outside. read more

Well, the main reason I'm giving a thumbs down is the taste/smell. OMG, I was ready to enjoy a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich which sounded delicious. Instead my nose was greeted with a very pungent very sharp smell, not appetizing in the least. I said "maybe it's just the combo of the side salad dressing + the other smells" but no it's the sandwich. Something you used made it smell fishy and vinegary and I could barely eat half. I had to wash my hands/face to get the smell off of me. I also had to wait pretty long but it was the beginning of the lunch hour so maybe I just do happened to order at the wrong time? At any rate I paid $13 for half a sandwich I did not enjoy (I'm pretty sure that's rancid truffle oil that was bothering me) and the half a salad was okay/decent. I feel a little cheated on a few levels but not sure what would be the remedy. Hopefully they'll comp me on a drink or something so I can update the review and say how good their smoothies are but that sandwich was (sorry for the choice of words) nasty and it really upset my lunchtime. We also ordered the early green boost juice and the beet monster juice. The sandwiches are good and the portions are good. Each sandwich comes with the salad as well which is a generous portion. The juices were good but average. Overall the food is good clean and the service was quick. We ordered through GrubHub so it was a delivery service. Honestly, they're thieves. I ordered a SUPREME Cesar salad ($10.99) and I got a box of lettuce with a dash of powdered Parmesan and 1 piece of an anchovy. Not one whole anchovy, I got a PIECE of an anchovy. When I asked them if they could do something they're reply was "I just work here". Ok. Fair enough. I requested a refund and wouldn't ya know! They don't provide refunds. I will never eat here again, and as food courier (who frequents the area almost daily) I will enthusiastically encourage those that order from here not to do so as well. read more

This was a cool place to stop at after a long hike. My first time here and what stood out the most was the fresh lettuce in the fridge behind the counter. I ordered the kale ceasar salad with chicken. The chicken was cold and in some sort of red sauce. Not at all as I expected and I was too hungry and dehydrated to ask. I loved that the ceasar salad was made with kale. After trying to manage with the chicken I ended up just eating the kale and a few croutons. Would have been worth $10 if the chicken was grilled and warm. The smoothies looked really good and I decided to try their new strawberry shaka and it was a good decision. It has strawberries, bananas, pineapple, and honey syrup. Soooo good. The banana flavor is overpowering of the others. It isn't mixed with yogurt so it does separate (melt) a little faster but still really good. read more

Hot damn! Who knew that an organic salad could taste this good?! What a fabulous new addition to the Elmwood District! I've been on this new journey to incorporate healthier and organic foods into my diet. Unfortunately, I work in an area that doesn't have a plethora of healthy and organic food restaurants nearby. The other day, I was on my way to Summer Kitchen and then... I saw it. A picture of a SALAD on the window. My heart kind of stopped. Was it true? I kind of ran in the middle of street in pure excitement when I saw a lady walk inside. I've been waiting for a salad spot to pop up in this area, and BAM! I got it! I walked inside and was taken aback by the menu and their PRICES! How could an organic salad with protein added be this cheap? I had just spent $15 on a salad at a place across the street a month ago and was beginning to lose hope in finding an affordable salad option. The salads here range from $8-$13. Completely affordable considering some of the other expensive options in the area. In addition to salads, they also offer panini sandwiches, pressed juices, smoothies, breakfast, and a few dinner entrees. I decided to order their Ocean Salad which consists of a spring salad mix with baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, onion, quinoa, green peas, jicama, pumpkin seeds, lemon wedges, avocado cilantro dressing, and garlic tiger prawns. Oh yeah... and it was only $11! Yep! At first glance, I was curious as to whether these ingredients would taste good together. But after stuffing my mouth full of this green goodness, it was set. That damn salad was the friggin' BOMB, mmkay? Those garlic tiger prawns were DYNAMITE! And, there were tons of them in that salad! The salad itself was a nice hefty size! All of the ingredients tasted extremely fresh! The jicama and cucumber added a wonderfully refreshing crunch. And that dressing.... anything and I mean ANYTHING wit avocado in it just warms my little heart. Those who know me, know that I have a dangerous obsession with avocado. This dressing did NOT disappoint ya girl. The salad was just nom nom nom! Why can't all salads be like this? I mustn't forget about their green juice! I ended up getting their Early Green Boost green juice composed of cucumber, kale, apple, pineapple, ginger, and lemon. The lady at the front counter told me that this was their most popular green juice, and rightfully so! I loved the flavor combination, and the prices for their juices and smoothies also seemed pretty reasonable compared to other juice and smoothie shops in the area. The service was stellar! Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The inside was really clean with a good amount of tables inside. They also have the most adorable outside seating area with umbrella shades! They offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options on their menu, so there's something for everyone here to enjoy! All in all, I enjoyed my first visit here and I'm looking forward to many more in the future! read more

What a welcomed addition to this part of College Ave. We have our favorites, but we usually visit the area post-weekend hike and sometimes we're craving a satisfying, fast-casual salad. It's not like you can't get salads elsewhere in the area, but many of the businesses are more sit-down. In addition to hearty salads, Organic Greens has a good selection of sandwiches, fresh pressed juices, smoothies, and a few breakfast items. Salads are large, enough for two to share. Decided to call out for delivery using DoorDash. I wanted to order something more on the healthy side. It can be tempting to want burgers or tacos because it is promoted more than healthy options. I found this establishment and I was hooked. Fresh salads , Açaí Bowls , fresh pressed juices , smoothies , poke bowls etc. There are so many options to choose from. One of my favorite options was the poke ahi salad. This bowl is a salad full of different veggies such as Butter Lettuce, Romaine heart, minced ginger, cherry tomatoes and edamame. If you want to add more to the salad , there are different options to choose from (extra charge) . I am keeping this on my healthy foodie list . read more

For this month's meeting of my Haas Alumni Forum group, we gathered at Magoosh in Downtown Berkeley and had dinner from Organic Greens delivered (via Caviar). It was great to eat in during our meeting, rather than go out to dinner after our 4-hour get-together. I had a gluten-free Chopped Salad, which consisted of romaine heart lettuce, dijon mustard vinaigrette dressing, spicy quinoa, blue cheese, bacon crumble, cherry tomato, boiled eggs, avocado, Scallions, and baked chicken. It was delicious and in very generous portions. My fellow travelers also enjoyed their selections which included the Ahi Poke Salad, Baby Kale Chicken Caesar, and a Chicken Pesto Panini. It's almost identical to its Downtown Berkeley cousin, but this Organic Greens is better. I'm not sure why. It doesn't feel as interesting or airy, although it's super sparkly and clean, just like its cousin. I haven't visited its super secret yet plainly obvious wonder garden yet, but I have enjoyed every meal I've eaten inside, and that's quite an accomplishment. Maybe I'm just getting old and nostalgic and soft. Yeah, that's probably it. The veggie panini is really good, and it comes with quite a bit of salad. I can't say it's really worth it, especially since I still tend to think of prices in 2013 terms, but it's filling, and I never feel bad about having spent too much money even though I always do. Came here in search of an acai bowl because Palm Acai Cafewas temporarily closed due to flooding. I was incredibly disappointed with the service here and will not be returning in the future. I came here with a friend on a weekday morning, and despite being the only customers in the store, it took us a few minutes to get the attention of the employee behind the counter. I asked to purchase a classic acai bowl, was charged for my order, and then served a juice instead. When I brought this to the attention of the employee, he told me that he didn't know how to make the bowls - ??? Instead of letting me know, I was charged and served a juice that I did not want. Later on, another employee came in to the store and the prior employee let me know that he could make me a bowl. I ended up ordering one (surprised that it was not comped? or no apology?) for $12 and got it promptly. As for the actual acai bowls, they're pretty good but very heavy on coconut. You can definitely get a bigger bowl for the same price at Vitality Bowls or Palm Acai. read more

One of very few places I could find in the area that had fresh fruit/veggie juices, and without yogurt or milk being added. They had a large variety of drinks to choose from, but I was only able to do two of them. The Early green boost and the beet monster. Both were delicious and did their job. I felt completely detoxed and refreshed! My only two complaints complaints would be cost, $9+ for a fruit juice is excessive. And the service...maybe she was just having a rough morning, but the cashier was less than friendly. The place was nice and clean, so can't complain their. The food menu looked good too. read more

Came here because Palm Acai was closed. Ordered the Blue Moon and received a tasteless, cold drink. I asked to change my order within 30 sec of ordering and the employee informed me that it was too late to change my order. The smoothie tasted entirely of spinach without any blueberry, banana, or honey. Definitely an impulsive, hot weather purchase. For $6.99, a better bet might be Jamba Juice. read more
