We used to buy this stuff for my grandma from overseas but when I saw it displayed in this little store I was like cool. Now we don't have to fly across the globe to purchase this for grandma. I bought a set for her which came to $25 even. It's made in Korea like all the stuff in this man's store, but the shopkeeper is not Korean, he's Chinese. What cracked me up was the fact that it says everything is 100% cotton, but when you look at the label sewn onto the stuff itself, it says 87% cotton, 13% nylon.

I have fond memories of back when my grandpa was able to drive and he'd take me here to buy me stationery and cuter school supplies before the start of school and would tell me to study hard or when I scourged up what little pocket change I had going through K-12 to purchase cute lead pencils and the like. Even as an adult, I would still go in here to see what cute wares they had. When Sanrio closed, this was the final bastion of kawaii goods, especially stationery. Pencil cases, pens, various different pencils, notebooks, greetings cards, plushies, erasers, planners, and much more. Blue Bear, Babu, Lovely White, and much more. This was the true nostalgia core y2k aesthetic. I loved the notebooks that were in that "greenish" tone to make it easier to study on the eyes and the random ones with random English phrases and a photo of scenery or daily life. It was even recently that Katy Perry did some photos here. These shops are a relic of the past and a world that no longer exists for us. Things were a bit pricy but it's nothing compared to the scalping and price gouging for cute core goods. There's still a couple of these left in SoCal, but now I'm sad that this one is gone.

During a particularly busy night, I've even seen shattered glass from a car that was broken into despite there being so many cars and people around, so be careful! As for value, there's a good chunk of casual eats and treats here (currently) that aren't too pricy like the new Chinese snack shop, Matcha Maiko, Honu Hawaiian, and Boba Ave 8090, and some slightly nicer eats like Sushi Rev and Yumiyaki (soon another Chubby Cattle Empire restaurant is joining this plaza).
