Although the street appeal probably isn't anything to woo at, and inside is a tad bit dated, yet is still humble in a family restaurant kind of way. It was amazing. The sauce was flavoursome and certainly didn't seem like out of a jar type of thing. It was served with broccoli pieces as well as a little burning flame in the middle of the plate. My partner had the Sizzling Steak Mongolian style dish and the pieces were tender and juicy, with lovely sweet and tangy Mongolian flavours through-out. The plate was also served with vegetables. I love this place. It's my new found gem. I've been searching a while for a nice place to grab some quality Chinese food, and I think I've found my stop. Balhannah is definitely in contention, I swear the same lady has been working there for at least 5 years so there's clearly some experience there. The location is pretty good. There's generally some pretty convenient parking available right outside. And the dine-in setting isn't terrible, with big windows looking out on the Balhannah main street. Plus they've got a byo alcohol licence, and the pub's next door. So you can totally have your fav pinot noir with your black bean beef. The food is also pretty good. The special fried rice is around the standard you'd hope for. One of my fav Chinese Australian dishes is sweet and sour pork. They do this quite well, I've had some shockers before. Also, just incase you weren't sure about value for money the prices aren't super cheap, but a large order does get you complimentary prawn crackers! Value! Vegetables are generally pretty fresh which is also a positive. The steak is flavorsome however seasoning and sauces on some dishes can sometimes be a bit bland for my taste. The store is well positioned in the heart of McLaren Vale by the caravan park and is good for a quick dinner. Meals are $11 to $16. Personal favorites from the menu are Pork ribs in plum sauce, sizzling pepper chicken, satay chicken and lemon chicken. Rice is sold separately for $3 and is generally nice fluffy. Medium serves are not that much more pricey.

No frills good value Chinese food…read more A suburban institution, Ginling has kept Inner Southern burbs dwellers (and visitors) happy with a range of yummy dishes for decades. My (Chinese Malay) aunt insists on eating here when she visits Adelaide. Customer service is hit and miss but easily overlooked! My faves - Peking duck, chilli chicken and the roast duck. I also firmly believe their deep fried ice cream is THE best I've ever had! Has never disappointed me and I'm a loyal patron.
