I got an order of gold pencils that were engraved. I had pictures to put up, but there is no way to upload. They're okay, but not the shiny gold I got before from Miles Kimball. Also, the engraving is the same color of the pencil, rather than black. It's much harder to see. read more

I'm not sure how I came across Oriental Trading in my wedding planning but it had to be from some magazine or something. Needless to say, they SAVED my butt when it came to the things I needed to get for the wedding that was out of state. Almost all of the party supplies came from Oriental. The only irk that I have with them is being on the mailing list... Needless to say that it is really irritating to get numerous packets every month now that my wedding is over. I really wanted to leave a positive review as their customer service was really good up until it came time to actually deliver on their promises. I used the Custom365 site that is part of the OrientalTradingCompany website and owned by them as well. I ordered 50 shirts for an event I was hosting today. They "upped my shipping speed" for free since I needed the shirts a week after I ordered them. I emailed back and forth with their customer service and they reassured me the shirts would come in time. They said the shirts would come yesterday which would have been great for since the event was today. Nope, nothing. No tracking numbers, no updates, absolutely nothing. I emailed them today asking what the deal was and they said they were sorry to tell me the shirts haven't even shipped yet, mind you they were supposed to be here yesterday. Don't be fooled by their empty promises of arrival times. I'm super disappointed they couldn't even ship them on time, let alone create them or have them delivered on time. I will avoid all OTC companies from now on. read more

Terrible customer service. My wife apparently ordered some birthday supplies from this company in April 2017. The following year in May 2018, my wife ordered some new birthday party supplies. Then two weeks later, May 17, 2017, I receive an email from the company saying we owe $57 for a purchase in April 2017. I call the company to find out what is going on, because there is no way the company is just going to ship stuff out to us without first getting PAYMENT. I receive a message back from their accounting department stating that they placed a credit card authorization on my card back in April 2017 but apparently never actually charged my card. While in the process of trying to figure out if my card was even charged or not, they sent me multiple emails with an invoice seeking immediate payment and sent a letter to my house saying that they would seek legal action if the amount was not paid in full within 2 weeks. I mean, come on seriously? They screw up, don't charge my card, ship the products to me, then over a year later send threatening letters to my house. Ridiculous. I have no problem paying for something I ordered, but I want to at least first confirm what card they placed an authorization on just to make sure that there was no charge actually made on that card. Just had a friend order shirts for her church and they assured her they would be in just in time. They printed the wrong shipping label, and put 3-5 business days instead of overnight shipping. She needs them for an event for Saturday and they won't arrive until Monday. Totally and completely unacceptable. Not only that, but when she asked for a refund, they only agreed to refund her the shipping cost! I won't be recommending you guys to anyone in the future. This has been the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. Ordered on a Monday for Wed arrival. Apparently because a promo code was entered, the shipping changed to standard without my knowledge. Paid double to have shipped next day (which was actually 2)on Fri, recieved an email packages would arrive Mon. This was for a major Little League event. I called and talked to Jag in Guest Relations and he got in touch with UPS but they weren't able to reroute it, so he reshipped the entire order to me free of charge! And it was my error! Ordered an item on 10\17 that was "In stock". Got an email it was out of stock. Then, same day as the email, you call and tell me its on stock again. You couldnt just keep the money, you had to refund it and make me give my info to pay again. Not even joking, 3 days later, I get an email saying its out of stock again. Its October 26, and you guys tell me "sorry" and now I have 5 days to find a costume somewhere else (my son was already unable to wear it to a school Halloween party due to this fiasco. I ordered a personalized wedding banner for my daughter's upcoming wedding. I was excited to open the box it came in. When I unraveled the banner, it was for couple's 50th Wedding Anniversary! I called customer service to tell them I received the wrong banner! The woman told me they do not keep the images that are sent to them, they throw it away! I would have to do a re-order. I was so disappointed! She also said they would credit my credit card for the amount and issue me a $20.00 coupon. My worst online shopping experience! Items don't match colors or descriptions displayed on line and the quality of some of my items is not that good either. The Return/ Exchange policy is horrible. I have to pay out of pocket for any returns or exchanges. Also, some items are more expensive than they are at Party City and or Amazon. I will never buy from this site ever again. read more

This online store sucks! I ordered personalized votive candle holders. First of all, they are not personalized.... the stickers they send you to put on yourself are personalized. You can go to staples buy the same stickers and print them yourself. Probably even get the votive holders pretty cheap somewhere too. Totally overpriced and not clear on what you are purchasing. I got plain votive holders and the stickers to put on them. For the price I paid I could of got them engraved. O, but then was told....minimal assembly required was said at time of purchase. Well they need to be more clear...I'm sending you the supplies personalize them yourself! Then to top it off, they wanted to charge me just to get return labels and charge me for each 1 I needed. This is the only company that carried items for a scuba diver themed party that was requested by my six yr. old. Items were reasonably priced, and spot-on for the theme. I paid an extra $20 to get it here on time. Well, only three of my seven items made it. The box was crushed and there was no packing slip or invoice with the order. I tried tracking the package, but the site was down. I called only to be told that everything should have been packed into the one (crushed) box. Customer service was polite, and I will get a refund for the missing items, BUT I was depending on these items as no one else carries this theme. I'm a teacher on a VERY TIGHT budget and I will not receive the refund until AFTER the party is over. OT has put me in a HUGE bind over something that should be easy for an online company-packing and shipping. I'm without the supplies AND the money budgeted to purchase supplies for my son's party. Very discouraging. Very disappointing. And just plan SAD. I hope the employee who stole these items to sell them on eBay enjoys their money and many birthday parties to come. Couple of days go by with no email, no contact from them. I log into my account to find that the order had been canceled because the red journals were out of stock. Do not use this vendor. I ordered candy on June 7 for my daughter's wedding on June 20. It didn't arrive until June 16 and when I opened the box, it was someone else's Vacation Bible School order, not my candy order. They promised to re-ship my order by June 19 to my mother-in-law's house (where the wedding was happening on June 20--I don't think that was too much to ask/ We gave them three days to make it right), but it never arrived, so I called and they promised to overnight ship it for noontime delivery on June 20 (the day of the wedding) but it never arrived. So all of the beautiful glass containers that I bought and managed to get to the wedding location and now cannot return (because I washed and took the labels off of) went unfilled. By the time I realized we weren't gong to get the order, we were unable to even get to a CVS to buy candy because we had to do wedding photos, etc. Huge disappointment. And, their customer service stinks. I've already wasted my time going to the post office to return the Vacation Bible School stuff they sent by mistake. And then I wasted another hour on the phone with them the day before the wedding, when I should have been focusing on other things, when they promised to overnight ship it. We aren't even at the site and now they finally delivered the package today--we're 80 miles away because the wedding was 2 days ago. The candy is now sitting on the front porch of my mother-in-law's house--she cannot drive or lift the package for that matter. How ridiculous. I will never order anything from them again. read more

We purchased some high school graduate stuff in April. We never received a key item -- poster with our daughter's name engraved. Oriental Trading confirmed that we did not receive -- e.g., "lack of shipment". We reversed the charges on our credit card (only $125... sigh) after no action on their side. Verbal discussions over the phone confirmed with their call center. Several months later they are sending a credit collection agency (CELCO) to us who are filling our voice mail full of messages yet do not return our call after leaving messages for them. I would give 0 stars, but it's not an option. Merchandise is junky but what do you expect. The real problem is that their customer service, which once was pretty decent, now rivals Walmart. Reps just don't care. Specialty theme items are in such low quantities that you need to order 4-5 months before an event. When it's out of stock they have no answer on restocking. And the catalogs and emails never stop! Unfortunately, it's hard to find similar items that are affordable to buy for 100-200 students at a time. read more
