At 35-weeks pregnant and not having yet any education on the labor and delivery process, I decided to sign up for Debra's one-day course designed for the birthing parent and their partner. It was very last minute, but I decided to do it out of desperation. WOW. I came out of the class knowing so much more than when I walked in. I was skeptical of how much I could absorb in just four hours, but Debra makes it possible. The content was perfect (course content at a high level includes labor and delivery, how partner can be involved and infant CPR) for what I needed to know; and Debra's teaching style made it very easy for me to comprehend. She makes it very clear from the beginning that the class is about how to advocate for yourself in a hospital setting. I do not have patience for a long, 8-week course so this condensed workshop version was really the thing I needed. If you're like me, don't hesitate and just sign up for the class. It was super engaging and fun. Debra has A LOT of knowledge and it's her passion to share. It's super obvious!

That's…read morewhen I decided to have a VBAC and thought that prenatal yoga would be critical in achieving an easier and natural birth. What I found was much more important than just a yoga class, I found a community! Debra is an amazing childbirth educator! I enjoyed the yoga classes because it wasn't just about yoga - it was about the whole birthing process. My husband and I also took her Hypnobirthing class which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Debra gives insight on all things birthing. When I talked to her about my VBAC plans, she recommended that I see Dr. Sancetta, who is widely known in the South FL community for VBACs. Sure enough, in my 34th week, after my initial consultation with Dr. Sancetta, I changed medical providers. My first baby came via c-section after a long 30 hour labor. I pushed for 3 hours and she never moved an inch. My doctor at the time told me that I had a "small" and "tight" pelvis which is why Baby #1 got "stuck". He told me that my subsequent labors most likely would go the same way and I might always have a hard time delivering naturally. Fast forward 18 months, and I was able to achieve my natural and unmedicated VBAC and I have to thank Debra for that. I truly believe that what I learned from Debra's yoga class, in addition to chiropractic care, helped to properly align my pelvis and create more space for the baby. The morning that I was in labor, I texted Debra to let her know that I wouldn't make it to class because I thought I was in early labor. She replied that if it was still early, I should come in to stretch, relax, and open up the hips. As I wasn't in too much pain yet, I decided to go - definitely had some contractions in class and she showed me how to breathe through them. Baby was born 4 hours later! Almost delivered in the car. Showed up to the hospital at 10cm. I was shocked to say the least. Thank you Debra for all your help and believing that I could do it!

I was so excited to find that Jackson are VBAC friendly - something I really wanted - and here was this absolutely equipped hospital to support me in that. My OB was Dr. Rachel Franklyn and all her wonderful team, very attentive and friendly. My little one came super fast (being the 3rd and all!) and I was treated with professionalism and the level of care was beyond great. And look, I've delivered every child of mine at different hospitals. My first was at a private hospital (well to do and all) in Los Angeles. The second was a c-section in a different hospital which was public in LA also. So I had those to compare my experience at Jackson. I only have really good things to say. They were the only hospital that never took my baby away to weigh or whatnot (after a healthy routine birth ofc) and they REALLY prioritize skin to skin. I was told I could hold him and bond as long as I wanted to and whenever I was ready they would do those measurements and further procedures they do normally with baby. Literally they were so respectful. I couldn't get an epidural because it all went so fast and there was no way I was going to be able to sit still through those surges but the nurses kept me calm and encouraged me throughout the contractions. Always checking on me, holding my hand, encouraging my husband and guiding us both through a wonderful and intense life moment. During delivery one nurse even was thoughtful enough to pick up my phone right after delivery and document/photograph the moment we met our son. Those photos are among my most treasured and I didn't ask or plan for that. I always felt treated with respect and like a human to be cared for on every level. I would deliver there again in a heartbeat without question they are so experienced and kind!

That said, perhaps I am not far along enough, but did not find anything too challenging. After reading so much about staying active and getting your heart rate up this is better than nothing, but do not come intending to break a sweat. At $33 per class the manager should purchase new pink mats as I was forced to buy toe socks for "sanitary reasons". The mats were full of holes and stained and not cleaned between classes- big turnoff...*especially* for someone concerned with sanitary issues. ... The toe sock requirement should have been mentioned on mindbody (there are a number of opportunities on MB to do so) prior to booking or in the LONG text message I received with directions. I have never worn toe socks to pilates before...but like I said it is not really pilates. Given the lack of prenatal offerings in the area I see why this gets glowing reviews, it is nice to be able to socialize with other mothers. Also I was charged $20 for what is $16 on Amazon. All the classes were great but I especially loved baby massage and Jessica's sleep workshop because it has helped me bond with my children and help them sleep on their own which makes me a better mother, wife, person overall. I highly recommend them for all moms - new or experts. Sleep is so important for little ones and having the tools I learned in baby massage and the sleep workshop have helped my husband and I get much needed sleep.

I had a healthy and strong baby, my first baby at 37 after 12 hrs labor work and she didn't even have to stitch me up, I had a speedy recovery and my baby is a month already. My wife really wanted a different birthing experience as we originally started off at a OBGYN office and were not happy with the basic care provided. Many times people get very nervous with using a birthing center over a hospital but after your first visit with them this will all go out the door. They provide you with so much more information and care than other provider's and truly make it a whole new level of experience. They go far beyond the basic care a typical provider gives. They focus on the mothers overall health (since it greatly effects the baby), from their diet, how much they are being active, how much knowledge they have, and give you so many resources/exercises to prepare your body for the process. Versus a normal practice where they just give you basic care and handle things as they come up at birth vs being preventive from the start. This experience was everything my wife wanted and more. Being first time parents we were very nervous coming into the process but are beyond ecstatic with the experience and the amazing staff at this center. If your plan is to have a natural birth then this is undoubtedly the place for you.

Most times they have me in 10-15 minutes after I arrive. Ultrasound tech is friendly, no phones in the ultrasound room. I think people may forget that this is not a time to Instagram reactions or anything but a real medical necessity to check in the health and growth of your baby. We got pictures printed from the ultrasound and they write her growth each time we are in there. They tell you up front what it will cost before you even go in which I think is nice. Clean and suitable for the purpose of medical need. We even got 3D photos of her face! If you're looking for luxury photos then I think you might need to look elsewhere, this is strictly for monitoring your baby and your baby's health. Never had a problem here!
