This was not our first visit to Joe's, and not our first at lunch time, but it will certainly be our last. We arrived at 11:55 and found ourselves a table. By 12:05 our server delivered our glasses of pop and took our lunch order. We never saw her again. Then we waited, and waited and waited. I finally looked at my phone... 12:30... I said to my husband, "Gee, I wonder what happened to our food?" He replied, "I have no idea, but if it isn't here soon, We've got to get it to go...." Well, by 12:40 we still have no food so we find a waitress, not our waitress (who we haven't seen since she brought our pop) to let her know that we need our food to go. At 12:45, here comes our original waitress, with a bag. She drops it off and returns a few minutes later with the debit machine. My husband's office is about 5 minutes from the restaurant. By the time we got there, our fries were soggy and all of the food cold. My husband's chicken fingers were of poor quality, more breading than chicken. I never did get to eat my salad, there was no fork in the bag, no napkins either. One other thing... our server either needs to buy longer shirts or higher waisted jeans. There is no reason that anyone's belly needs to be shared with customers. This was not the first time that we've seen this server dressing this way for work, and none of the other servers dress this way. Totally inappropriate. We were really happy when Joe's came to Lethbridge, but the service has gone down the tubes. If it was the first time we had mediocre food and lackluster service, I might have written it off, but it wasn't, so I'm not. read more

This place is by far the best kept secret in Lethy for great pub atmosphere and generous portions of great tasting food. This ain't no sports bar but there are tv with sports on just no volume as music is the atmosphere. You can't be too late for a supper meal cuz the place starts to fill up around 6 and you'll find yourself standing at the door waiting for a table. My favorite meals there are the beef dip (REALLY piled thick with meat), fish and chips, pork ribs and always a pub fave ...chicken wings done many different ways. This place is well worth the drive from the south or west side of lethy to experience. And if you go( and you will ) leave a fricken seat for me !! read more

I hate to sound like I'm exaggerating but it was my worst restaurant experience. The first time I went in the evening, my friend and I sat down and we're not even acknowledged despite waitresses walking by us. We left after 15 minutes of no service. The second time I went at lunch to give it one more try. Our service was decent but the food was terrible. Fries were hard and stale. The pulled pork sandwich I had one bite of and new I couldn't eat it. It was cold and dry. None of the food was good. It was all poorly cooked. I won't be going there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Went out to lunch at Original Joes with my parents and tried their Quinoa and Mushroom burger with fries and egg salad for sides. The burger was a bit ordinary and quite loaded with intense onion leaving the smell lingering (3.5/5) the fries we good (3.5/5) and the egg salad was nice but contained bacon and being that I ordered the vegetarian burger and inquired if the clam chowder soup had bacon on it I would have hoped that our waitress would have assumed I was vegetarian and notified me of the bacon. Being that I am far from a diehard vegetarian I was fine just picking the bacon off but it seems like something a waitress should be conscious of. Laid-back pub atmosphere with above-average to awesome food. When my boyfriend lived in the neighborhood we would go here almost weekly. The prices are good for both the amount and quality of food. Lots of standard fare like burgers, fries, pizza, but done in a way that is original and upscale while still being familiar. I'm particularly in love with the dill dip for the fries, as well as the Thai Chicken bites, and the Deviled Egg Potato Salad. The seasonal features are usually quite good. Gets fairly crowded on nights with popular specials (wing night) but we've never had to wait for a table, although we probably would if there were more than just the two of us. I like the smaller location here though; compared to the one in Medicine Hat it's a bit quieter and cozier. If you come for lunch it's much quieter and laid-back. Service is generally not outstanding but always decent in our experiences. read more

Went for dinner after 7:30 at their Northside location. Being really hungry we put in the order immediately. We ordered onion rings to start and two ACE burgers since they had double patties. After waiting over 30 minutes for our onion rings we asked about them. 2 minutes later they arrived. We then waited another 23 minutes before the burgers made an appearance. They tasted and looked like Macdonald's burgers. The two patties were so thin that combined there was less meat than a normal single patty. The dressing on the ceasar salad was overpowering and burned the mouth when eaten. The fries were either overcooked or had been sitting and reheated. We left most of the food on the plate. We will not be eating here again. read more

Original Joe's is located near the Sobeys (Uplands). My friend got the fish tacos, which were absolutely delicious. I regret ordering the Vietnamese style sandwich (which wasn't very Vietnamese at all, just sort of a barbecue sandwich on a baguette). We ordered calamari as an appetizer and so far, it's the best I've had in Lethbridge! read more

Ok, this is the first time I have ever written a review but since this is not the first negative experience that I have had with this restaurant, I felt it warranted it. My buddy offered to buy me lunch and at the last minute decided that he would like to go to OJ's. We had been here numerous times over the last couple of years but not really recently although I had been in myself the week before. (More on that in a minute). So we get in at11:45 and had ordered by 11:50 since we both pretty much have the same thing when we go there. Chicken fingers and fries and a French Onion Soup and a Caesar Salad. Pretty standard fare and not an overly challenging order in my opinion. The place was maybe half full which is why we were there at that time, we both know that it will fill up at lunch time and my friend only gets 30 minutes for lunch. The servers were friendly as usual and my rating is really NOT a reflection of that part of the service. The speed of service out of the kitchen however was absolutely unacceptable. By the time we received our food 40 minutes had passed. We were about to ask our server about it when one of the other girls brought it out. I tasted my soup and it was both lukewarm and tasted sour. Told the server and she took it away and I indicated that I didn't want anything to replace it as time was too short at this point. The Caesar was ok. My friend's fries were as well only warm although the chicken fingers were hot. Still, in my mind, 40 minutes for this kind of order at lunch time when you should expect to be busy is just too long. I mentioned this to our server as my friend paid the bill and she quite expectedly gave the reasoning that they were quite busy and that it usually doesn't take that long. Here comes my visit from the previous week. I was in for a "quick" late lunch and arrived at about 1:15. Lunch rush was obviously over and the restaurant was less than half full with most patrons already eating. I ordered a soup of the day and a Fish Taco appetizer. Again 45 minutes later the soup arrived followed shortly by the Fish Tacos. Food was OK again but the speed of service of this restaurant is simply terrible. I related this to our server today and she apologized and hey, it isn't her fault that the kitchen is slow. My biggest problem with our visit today was the fact that I watched for the entire time that we were in the restaurant, a lady who was quite obviously either the manageress, or an owner, sit in one of the bigger booths, just inside the door working on her computer for the majority of the lunch rush. She finally got up to help her staff about the time we received our food. Someone needs to give this lady a wake up call that first, your staff will respect you more if you get off your ass when they are slammed and help them, and your customers will not feel insulted by the piss poor service from your kitchen if they see you making an effort to improve things. Whatever she was working on on her computer I am sure could have waited until after the lunch rush was over and her customers were served in an expedient manner. My opinion of Original Joe's in Uplands Lethbridge is simply that they are busy in spite of themselves and the lack of other competition in the immediate area, not because they do a great job. read more

I've always loved Original Joes. But today, I'm seriously disappointed. Ordered takeout, came and picked up. The burger was amazing as usual, but the jalapeño Mac and cheese was AWFUL. No flavour and freezing cold. What gives? read more

One of the better "chain" pubs in Lethbridge. Good food. Good beer. Usually very busy and a bit hard to find a seat.
