I dropped it off on a Thursday and it was ready in 3 days, on Monday. I think they offered to have it ready sooner but I wasn't in a rush so Monday pickup was fine for me. Orinda Dry Cleaners is the best! I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but this small, family-owned business absolutely deserves it. I came in on a Friday morning with a bit of a desperate ask: I needed a pleated skirt (pictured) pressed for an event that same evening at 6 PM, and I also needed some quick help freshening up a white blazer to go with it. They were so kind and said they'd do their best to have it ready by the end of the day, even though they couldn't guarantee it I am still happy they didn't turn me away like other places in Berkeley. When I picked everything up, I was shocked with the great job they did. The pleats on the skirt were pressed perfectly--from top to bottom, not just halfway like another dry cleaner in DC had done (I wish I took a before pic!). It looked amazing when I picked it up, and I'll definitely get a few more wears out of it before I bring it back. I also brought in a white blazer that still had makeup on it (embarrassing) but they were actually able to remove the stains in addition to ironing it as well. They were upfront when I dropped it off that they might not be able to fully remove it, due to the nature of the stain and the colour of the clothing. I was looking for a new drycleaner and after trying Orinda Cleaners, I'm still looking. I'm sure a lot of people like the old-timey charm of this place but the lack of computer system (so you have to bring in the receipt instead of looking up by phone number) and the fact that they take checks/cash only is a dealbreaker for me. When I dropped off the clothes, I tried to ask how much my order would be so I'd know how much cash to bring with me and the lady said she didn't know. I then asked for a ballpark estimate and she begrugdingly did a back of the envelope estimate for me. She wasn't particularly friendly when I picked up the clothes either. If I'm going to forego computer systems and credit cards, I at least want really friendly people! Wanted to like this place. Was hoping for a warm, friendly small-town cleaners but that was not my experience. Three reluctant stars because the clothes were clean and it wasn't outrageously priced. read more

Orinda Cleaners is under new ownership. We recently stopped by in desperation. My fiance had left a suit to be dry cleaned at a nearby dry cleaner, but didn't note the time that the dry cleaner closed. As a result, when he went Saturday afternoon to pick up his suit, they were closed! Unfortunately, he needed the suit for an event we were attending that evening! We frantically brought another of his suits to Orinda Cleaners, hoping that they would be able to dry clean it in time. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us and my fiance's suit was dry cleaned just in time! They did an amazing job and we are so grateful for their help and flexibility! Orinda Cleaners owners are without a doubt a very professional, efficient and also accommodating company. We had several drapes that needed to be cleaned in a very short time and they were more than willing to work with us. They picked them up and delivered them. Within less than a week they did an incredible job on the drapes. Also, they did not know if one particular type of drape set could be cleaned and were honest about it and said that they would have to do a test. I would say that they understand what the community wants and are more than willing to provide the service that will accommodate that. read more

I gave Orinda Cleaners two special newly-purchased dress shirts to launder and press for my daughter's wedding. Orinda Cleaners told me (and the receipt said) the shirts would be ready for pick up on Saturday at noon. I went to pick up the shirts on Saturday and they told me the shirts were sent out to be cleaned and would not be back until Monday. I was shocked and had to go buy new shirts to take to the wedding that night. Orinda Cleaners did not even apologize. They are liars -- their receipts for Orinda Cleaners say "All Work Done On Premises." I like to support local businesses but not ones that lie and don't follow through with what they say. read more

This place is the best. Over the last several months, we have probably brought in about 10 articles of clothing, ranging from button-down shirts, to suits, and nice cocktail dresses. No matter what the stain is these guys ALWAYS have managed to get it out. We have had extensive wine stains, blood stains, as well as simple dirt and grime, but every single time they have returned our garments to us looking like new. I've been using Orinda Cleaners for many years and found them to be pretty good. But recently, the business changed hands and the quality has gone UP. The new owner added a computer system and accepts credit cards. Most recently they got the blood stains out of a silk shirt and the garment looks great again. Without exaggeration, I went to the tailor (not at Clean Cleaners) to pick up my bridesmaids gown, and it was totally wrinkled and even stained on the bottom. I had to leave for the wedding in less than two hours. Yeah, worst bridesmaid ever. I rushed into Clean Cleaners in a panic, and they were beyond amazing, fixed the stains where they could and fluffed and steamed the gown to as close to perfect as could be. Very disappointed. I like doing business with local businesses but this one was dishonest. I was a new customer and took in several outfits for cleaning. I made sure to ask about the price before I left my cleaning. When I picked up my clothes they charged me more than twice the price! This place SUCKED!!! I went in to have my pants shorted and was told they would put the original hem back on. When I went to pick them up the orginal hem was NOT put back on. I asked and was told I would receive a phone call to discuss. I waited over a week and then someone left a message just stating pick up your pants. When I went in my pants were still wrong plus the new hem was coming un-done. I did not want to pay for pants that were not done correctly. I was told again someone would call me to discuss however no one ever called so I just went in and paid for my pants. Now I have to take them some where else and get them fixed. This place SUCKS!!!!
