I dropped off a dress to be cleaned before my friend's wedding, which happened to be Thanksgiving weekend in Southern California. I was told to pick it up at a certain time, but due to some sort of miscommunication, by the time I arrived the store had already closed early because of the holiday. Since Thanksgiving was the very next day, I figured I was out of luck and started mentally preparing to find a different dress to wear. I called the store anyway and somehow managed to get in touch with the owner. He explained that they had closed early because of Thanksgiving, which I completely understood. But when I told him my situation, he did something I absolutely did not expect. He said he was about 40 minutes away, but insisted on turning around and coming back to the store just so I could get my dress. He drove all the way back, opened the shop for me, and then had to drive another 40 minutes again afterward. I honestly couldn't believe it. That level of customer service is incredibly rare these days. He went so far out of his way to help me, especially right before a major holiday. Truly 10/10 service. I'm so grateful and will absolutely continue coming here. Highly recommend! read more

BEWARE! Unreliable and irresponsible business.....(After reading other comments)it appears that "losing someone else's expensive item is a common practice here. I support small businesses and even when they make a mistake I give them a second chance. They made multiple mistakes before (losing my belt of my cashmere coat etc, which they eventually found it) Last June I took 3 of my dawn comforters to this dry cleaner. First I took two of my king and queen comforters, I picked them 2 weeks later. Then I took my daughter's queen comforter. They have made me take 5-6 trips to "get my comforter" only for me to discover that it's not my comforter but someone else old cheap comforter. At the end the owner reluctantly admitted that they lost my comforter and I settled on $145 (as I couldn't remember how much I paid for it. It was Macy's Hotel Collection. I paid $210 for a new one) I was understanding as everyone makes mistakes. It got colder recently and I pulled out my comforters and guess what, 1 of the 2 comforters, I brought back from this dry cleaners, is not mine. All my comforters have my last name on the tag. It's someone else's old (without any dawn left) comforter. I'm appalled. It appears they swap your new or newer comforter with someone else's old one. read more

(Updated 2/12/25): After posting this review, Don has been responsive in trying to look into my case and provide some clarity in an attempt to see where there could be improvements. I appreciate this effort. It sounds like their fees are comparable to surrounding businesses and more of the issue was perhaps lack of clear communication about what exactly I was paying for before services were rendered. It doesn't look like posting service prices are common online (and many cleaners don't have a website anyway), but I highly respect price transparency and clear breakdown of service fees even just over the phone before I commit to coming in to get measurements (and definitely in-person). This probably is the one thing I'd like to happen, esp for customers who don't ask for these services on a regular basis. Changing 2-star to 3-star for the above. ================================================= (Original post 2/8/25): Being relatively new to Pleasant Hill, I've only tried JUS Clean Comfort before a couple times for dry cleaning and laundering services. Prices seemed a bit high and there were some communication misunderstandings in pricing based on who was there when dropping off or picking up. A little irksome, but the results were fine. Decided to try bringing two pairs of pants to get hemmed since the pant legs were too long. (Not sure if I can pay only for service of hemming the legs, but this was the only "ask" I had). Don measured the length needed and pinned them. I asked what the total cost would be for all of this and was quoted $40 total. Dropped off on 12/19 and was asked if 12/27 was okay for pickup. I had a trip on 12/30 that I wanted to bring my pants on, so I figured it was plenty of lead time (plus Christmas was that week). I rushed out of work on Friday late afternoon to pick up my pants on 12/27 and was surprised my pants were available as I was not given any heads up courtesy call that my alterations were delayed to avoid the unnecessary trip. The staff member tried to get an update from their tailor and said she'd have to call me back another day. I got a call on a Saturday afternoon later that it would take longer than expected and I could pick up the morning before I had to run to the airport for my trip. I was also advised by the tailor that she had somehow accidentally made alterations that were not asked for. She said she undid them but I might notice it on one of the pants. This was a weird interaction. Fortunately, my pants were ready the day I had to go to the airport for my trip. It was stressful because I basically had to wait till opening time to pick up the pants on the way to the airport. I was in a rush, so surprised when I was run up for ~$64 (pre-tax). Surprised at this, I was advised that the price was actually $40 for the alterations per pants (I later found out that while I had only asked for leg hemming, the waist was also addressed although not asked for resulting in more cost). The discount for delay/inconvenience and unnecessary alterations (one of which had to actually be undone) was a reduction from $40 to $32 per pants. Rationale for rating: 1. Multiple episodes of "miscommunication" despite clarifying and confirming questions when dropping off for services. While it's possible diff personnel at diff times might contribute, I recall Don was there each time and patiently answered my questions which was appreciated. (However, the unexpected outcomes for pricing were not). 2. No heads up courtesy call if services are delayed, particularly alterations that were not going to be time sensitive due to cushion, but did end up being time sensitive due to the delay. Not sure why it is up to the customer to double check with routine services to ensure they are completed when promised. 3. The unexpected need to troubleshoot with the third party seamstress/tailor. -I was fine with overlooking the seamstress being sick and having backlog, but this brings me back to point #2 about courtesy calls. -Upon further follow-up, it seems like the seamstress was given instructions for both taking in the waist and the pant leg hemming (but not the pant leg tapering which was a mistake). Not her fault she did the alteration on the waist (which was not needed or asked for) as this appeared to be an error with the cleaners. Not sure how there were incorrect instructions on what to hem for these pants and fortunately, the unintended alterations are not too noticeable, but it could have been potentially concerning for a really expensive pair of pants (these were "only" $80 each). I hesitated weeks before writing this review to let my emotions cool down. I really want to support a local business and Don has always been very friendly. It's also pretty close by. However, having had multiple issues for what I would've thought would be simple services, I sadly will explore other options in the future. read more

DON is my GO TO Guy for all dry cleaning and alterations. I just had them clean a very expensive Oriental rug. It looks beautiful. He partners with an outside rug cleaning expert. The price was very reasonable. He is very concerned that his customer is happy with their work. Most of it is done in House with a patented cleaning method. read more

I was given a pickup time and arrived to the store and it wasn't ready. I wish they had just informed me they needed more time since I had to hurry there from work for no reason. I was in no rush to pickup and a notice that it was delayed would have been greatly appreciated. It would have been fine to make two trips but the store clerk was rude to me about it when I requested a call before coming back a second time. read more

I started using this service about one year ago when I needed uniforms done for my plumbing company. I met Don, the owner and he helped me get names embroidered on the shirts, American flags sewn onto the shirts and company names sewn onto the shirts. When I picked up the shirts, they were cleaned and starched, very happy with the service. Now I'm back again with the second set of shirts and looking forward to some more great service. This is my first time using a laundry service. Don and his staff did a great job. Don picked up and delivered a huge amount of laundry and bedding after a carpet beetle issue in my home. It was a huge stress reliever for me as my washer broke a few days ago. Don is friendly, they followed my instructions about washing and drying on hot. And every smells great and is perfectly laundered, sorted and folded in clear plastic bags. While not inexpensive for a large amount of bedding, etc- I felt like it was worth every penny. Used to love bringing clothes here for dry cleaning however, things went downhill. My husband's shirts started coming back with tiny holes (from being pinned), writing my name in permanent marker on VERY EXPENSIVE shirts, and little marking on collar (was told it was lint). Still continued to support them even though we went through all this. The final straw was when I took back a shirt for the marking on the collar. When I came back the following week to pick it up it was LOST! Shirt cost us over $700. I remained patient while they looked for the shirt but there wasn't much communication! I would call and go in to get an update. They didn't seem too concerned about it being lost even after I said how much it would cost to replace it! Very disappointing in how it was handled. When I originally asked about what happens if not found I was told they would replace it and I followed that with the cost of shirt plus the cost of alterations. The response was oh wow and that they would continue to look for it (again didn't seem concerned) and I backed off because I truly believed after this conversation that if it wasn't found that they would do the right thing and replace it. After 2 weeks of it being lost I went in and ask for the money that it would cost to replace it and was told they don't replace it if not found but only offer a "credit" for future services. Long story short after going back and forth they wanted a little more time to look for it and if not found they would partially cover to replace it. LUCKILY it was found on week 3! Fantastic customer service and a "make it right" attitude by ownership who is heavily involved in this business's daily operations. I recently had a dress cleaner, a trench coat pressed, and some expensive (and annoying) jeans repaired. Don is so fun, so reliable, and so easy to work with. TRULY OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Wow thank you soooo very much Don, you will forever be in my heart and apart of my happiness for my wedding! You helped me in such a short time and helped me sooo much! Came in with a wedding dress that needed alterations; I had previously went to 7 different places and no one could really help me or was extremely expensive. Don welcomed me with open arms and called for his seamstress Mahin. She came in less than 15 mins, measured me and told me she could absolutely do the job. Hemming was needed because the dress was too long and the back wouldn't zip up because the dress was a smaller size so Mahin had to add material to give me a little more room so it could fit.. she DID IT!! Less than a week later, she's calling me letting me know that the dress was ready. The dress fitted perfectly and looked like if the dress was made like that. 1st time customer. Requested hemming on pants and fixing a zipper + dry cleaning on second item. Service was friendly & to the point on that first visit when I dropped off both items. I was told I'd get a call when items were ready. The receipt also noted items would be ready on a date 8 days away. Important note. Carissa who helped said at least twice that I came at a great time because the seamstress was on site. I saw her there as well. The banner at the entrance says "all work done on premises". Fast forward, after 3 weeks of not hearing back, I go back in and give the receipt to the person at front desk. She cannot find my items and makes a call.The person she's talking to takes a while to figure out what's happening but the result is, items are not ready. I ask what's the normal turn around time for the services I requested and she says usually 1.5 weeks. She then asks me if I can come back the next day, but I can't and tell her so. After at least 5 min on the phone she finally tells me the seamstress lives 5 min away and is on the way to drop my pants off in 5 min. Regarding the 2nd item (zipper+dry clean) she says "it's being washed right now. 10 min later I walk back in and the front desk girl says the seamstress isn't here. She calls her and this time says she's arrive in 15 min. I ask why they advertise that all work is done on premises but the pants being hemmed are off premises. She sharply responds, "that's for dry cleaning" The seamstress arrives and hemmed pants were altered as I requested. Despite telling me the 2nd item was "being washed right now" at least 30 min earlier, now the front desk girl, seamstress & staff can't find them. They finally dig through the pile of dirty laundry behind the counter and find my 2nd item buried there under heaps of other clothes. 0 star experience for this first time customer. read more

I have brought pants here on several occasions for hemming but my most recent customer experience is my last. The customer service was very poor, enough to make me come write something. 1. 1 pair of pants was not noted in their handwritten log and that pair was delayed ~3ish weeks. I had initially dropped off several pieces of clothing but this 1 was missed. 2. I returned to the location at least 4 times over the course of those weeks. They would have to call the seamstress directly for updates because they didn't track the status. At one point, I was put on the phone directly with the seamstress who was unaware of what to do with my pants. Staff in store had not communicated properly to her and put me on the phone with her instead. 3. I was told I'd be contacted when the pants were ready but that never occurred so I called the store myself 1.5 week later. Staff had to consult with owner to find out status. 4. Upon returning to pick up this single pair, I asked the staff if there is a discount considering how much of a delay there was. Staff said they couldn't do that without the owner present. I live so close but have decided to not return. I will learn how to sew myself for hemming my own clothes to avoid such treatment in the future. read more

I took my duvet comforter in which was covered in stains and looked dull. Upon pickup and opening it looked like a brand new duvet! Super pleased, no odor and all the stains are gone. I was looking around for an alterations place for a dress and used Yelps request a quote feature and found JUS Clean Comfort. I'll be honest I didn't know what to expect, I had already gotten a few quotes from other places closer to me and they were ridiculously high, I decided to take a chance and go check them out. Don was super responsive on Yelp, we messaged back and forth with details of what I needed done and set up an appt. He was really accommodating and I appreciated that. I thought I would be walking into a typical cleaner but I was wrong, the waiting area was warm and inviting and Don was there, very hospitable. I met with his seamstress shortly after and loved her! She was really sweet, we went over all of the things I wanted done to the dress and she listened and gave feedback. Don checked in often and made sure everything was going smoothly. I was nervous leaving my dress with anyone but I have to say, I was comfortable leaving it with them. Originally came in only for alterations of 2 suits as I lost a lot of weight during quarantine and also as a trial before bringing in my wedding suit. After seeing how inexpensive alterations were, I brought in a couple pants to alter and some other items to dry clean. The alteration "fitting area" is in the back of the dry cleaner is the employee bathroom, that's it. Don't expect anything that you'd get at an alteration only place. This business is dry cleaner first with an added third party alteration contracted employee. I specifically mentioned when I needed the suits done by, and they were ready on time, but were still way too big.. seamstress had to come back and redo them. I ultimately got 1 suit done in time for the event, which luckily fit well, and left the other items. It took 2-3 alterations to get the second suit and both jeans to SOMEWHAT fit. One pair of jeans and one suit I think I'm going to just donate as they don't even fit right with awkward arm pit/shoulders and pants being over tight.. AND the seamstress wanted to charge me AGAIN on alterations that she had to keep redoing because they were never right in the first place. Thats what you get for a budget alteration, lesson learned. I drove multiple times from Walnut Creek to JUS on agreed deliverable dates only to not have anything ready. After doing this multiple times I learned to call them first to stop wasting my time and gas, as I rarely got calls from them on updates. Don, the owner, has great customer service and is upfront with pricing and generous in giving discounts when all these things went wrong. He overrode his seamstress and didn't double charge me for things. He also dry cleaned and pressed my wedding suit and shirt for free, but I had to help him find my wedding shirt in his shop 3 days before my wedding.... and I had to re iron it as his employees did a terrible ironing/press job on a simple dress shirt. I'm grateful that he offered to dry clean my wedding outfit for free as an apology. Thank you again. At the end of it all I paid $235 for 2 suit jacket size reductions (one of which still doesn't fit), 2 suit pant waist reductions (one of which still doesn't fit), 1 suit pant leg taper, 2 Jeans waist reduction (one of which is way too tight), 1 Jean hem, 1 queen comforter dry clean, and 1 blouse dry clean. My review is based on the NEW owners...I don't know who owned this place before but my experience the other day was great! Came here for the first time and spoke w/ one of the owners Don. He's very personable, and I appreciated his honesty about the pros and cons of one of the methods they use for cleaning drapery. The prices for cleaning drapes are very reasonable. I also brought an item in for alterations- I just needed the stitching sewn back together that came apart on the seam. It was ready in two days. I had my wedding dress altered here, and when I say it was amazing it was everything . The service they provide is top notch Don helped me out with my laundry (wash and fold service)during the crazy time of planning my wedding as well and during my wedding so I would have clean clothes by the time we came back. They altered my Aunts , Moms, Grandmas, Step moms, and little cousins dress as well. Amazing :) I still use Them today for wash and fold service.
