Love this place! The woman at the front desk is incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful. I was a little nervous about bringing in my white dress because it had several stains, and another cleaner had already told me they wouldn't be able to get them out. Thankfully, the team here worked their magic and completely removed every stain. When I picked up my dress, it looked brand new! Found my tailor! We've lived in Lafayette for 3 yrs and it was time to move on from my SF tailor (I was still driving to the Marina!) - Found this spot after trying a few other local resources... decent options but very expensive w/ unreasonable lead times by comparison. This place is great - you deal w/ the owner who's very sweet, engaging, and fair. Had 3 pants taken in at the waist - spent less, got pants very quickly. I had my slacks altered and was pleased with the outcome. However, they were lax as a "business". It was more like having a friend shorten my slacks. I didn't receive any info about when to expect them, how much it would cost or even their business card/name. That was my fault, as well, since I didn't ask for a receipt or any other paperwork. So, after a few days, I went back and sure enough they remembered me and my brown pants which were accurately shortened at a reasonable price. They did need a cleaning, though. Perhaps they have that all worked out by now. I would recommend them, with that info in mind. read more

Unfortunately, Sherry has extremely bad customer service skills. I chose her due to the reviews, but now I am not sure why these reviews mention friendliness. That's far from my experience. Upon arrival I had a few questions, and Sherry was very bothered by them and proceeded to give rude remarks. She responded "I don't have to explain anything to you." I was taken aback honestly, and had no choice but to leave. Respect and kindness toward customers are key for any business, please work on that Sherry. read more

I have been really hesitant to write a new review for Civic Vogue cleaners after my last 5 star review but unfortunately, this one is very well deserved. Here is what happened, I brought in 6 items for dry cleaning, 4 mens shirts, a women's blazer, and a women's shirt for dry cleaning. The mens shirts came out fine but the shirt and blazer didn't. They were worn for a 3 hour meeting and they smelled like they had been worn when I brought them in and when I took them home and opened them up, they smelled the same way, like they had never been cleaned. In an attempt to fix this and not bring the blazer and shirt back, I tried to put on my perfume to delay bringing it back. However, after a day sitting in the closet like this, I realized that I just needed to bring it back to have them re-clean it. No big deal right? Well, I brought back the shirt and the blazer to be re-cleaned and I was told that I should have mentioned that they needed to be "cleaned", hmm ok. What exactly does dry cleaning do? Ok fine, sure please just redo them I thought to myself. Well, fast forward and 4 attempts later and the blazer still smells like it's been worn (not the perfume anymore). I had to go back and forth to the location each time (even though they could have called to tell me what was happening) and each time, they said they had to send it back. This brings me to another point. They don't do anything besides alterations on site and send out everything to a third party company that apparently isn't very good. So I wound up picking up my blazer and they gave me a refund. Unfortunately, the blazer also has a new stain which they acknowledged wasn't there when I brought it in but they didn't offer to pay for the blazer, just a refund for the price paid for cleaning. I just took it and left as I was really tired of stopping by and not picking up my clothes. I am only giving this place anything higher than 1 star because the two women that run the business are pretty friendly and while they couldn't have messed this up much more, they weren't rude about it, they just didn't do the right thing. Unfortunately, we will never come back here because the quality of their cleaner isn't good at all. read more

I have been utilizing Civic Vogue Cleaners services in the past few years and I am very pleased with their service. They deliver on time. They haven't ruined any of my clothes or comforters. I got my wedding dress preserved here recently and I had an excellent experience! The owner is very professional and nice and her prices are very reasonable. She ships the dresses off to a specialty company and that company charged her an extra $20 because of dirt stains on my dress and she didn't pass the fee on to me even though I offered to take care of it. The owner, I forget her name is first class. I came there after another dry cleaners ripped my shirt and tried to charge me for the repair. I told her what happened and asked her how much she would charge to fix it, she told me she would do it for free. I was blown away, I never brought the shirt in but she just made me a customer for life. Her prices are much lower than anywhere else in the area and she is the nicest lady and always gets my dead line done. Excellent prices and excellent service. Not a fan. Turned in a sweater that had perfume on it to get dry cleaned, and it had the same perfume smell when I picked it up. Makes me question the quality of the cleaning. If they have to do extra work to get kitty hair off a garment they charge extra? I was told that they didn't charge me "this time" but in the future I should make sure there is no hair. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. With all of the dry cleaners to chose from, many with better prices, they should not expect customers to clean garments before bringing it to the dry cleaners; not very professional in my opinion. read more

So today was chaos. I'm in the process of changing jobs, and took my new work shirt to get tailored on a rush. Long story short, there was a miscommunication and my shirt wasn't back and it was my first day of work. I was so stressed out - mind you I already worked a 9 hour day and was on my way to another 8 hour shift. Now, I go here all the time and she's the only one I bring all of my dresses to, and this has never happened. I found one of my boyfriend's shirts and put that on and of course my work noticed, but I tried to explain the story - already rough for a first day and impression. Then my coworker was like "someone is looking for you" when I had only been there fifteen minutes. She straight up brought my shirt to me at work. SHE BROUGHT IT TO ME AT WORK. I almost cried. Like I can't get over it. She is the sweetest lady and the cleaning and tailoring is on point. I was able to change my shirt right away and everything was amazing. Cherri saved the day! I had received a dress in the mail for my company holiday party last minute and it was way too long. I went to multiple cleaners in WC and when asking if they can do a rush to shorten the dress, they all looked at me like I was crazy. Dropped my cloth was told to pick them up after 5 days, when I did they missed to include a piece a garment, weeks later when I returned to picked it up and simply inquired if they could have called to let me know, their response was to remind me to read the fine print.....while a simply sorry could have worked. read more

Reasonable dry cleaner, average prices, friendly staff. Have taken a few pairs of pants here with no problem. Took white comforter here a few weeks ago and got it home and there were ink stains on it from a pen. I of course did not notice this until I had already put it on my bed. Flipped it over and they are on both sides. Tried to use shout to spot clean but the pen would not get out. There wasn't any pen ink on it when I dropped it off; bummer. I just dealt with it since it's such a pain to go back to the cleaner, complain and get it fixed, but I don't think I'll take a comforter there again. I think she said she sends it out to another company since they're so large. I had no problems with the pants I've taken there so I'll probably go back and take normal clothes, just not bedding or special items. And yes this is a review for Civic Vogue next to the cash for gold and watch repair place on Civic and Arroyo Way. read more
