This place was ok. The hot chocolate was good. I was disappointed that they only had three types of muffins and a cookie as a choice for the pastries. It was quite limited. One choice was a coffee cake muffin with raisins. The cashier said it wasn't popular. The atmosphere was nice. Cute set up. Beautiful view out of the back window. Fresh snow looks beautiful on the gorge. I was going to sit in the front room but some girls were talking Facebook drama and I wanted to relax. There was a second room that had several students working on their laptops. It was nice and quiet. Great area to study or get some work done. Neat little joint! After hiking Clifton George I ended up coming to Cedarville in search for a refreshing drink and let me tell you I found it! I ordered an Iced Chai and it was among the best I've had. It is more on the sweeter side but the smoothness of the drink was perfect. Telemetry also offers sandwiches which is an added bonus and something I'll have to try next time I'm in the area. There was hardly anyone in here when I came which made finding a seat pretty easy. Only downside is that this place feels like a library since there was no music and whispers all around. This didn't ruin my experience at all however! Telemetry is a fun spot. I first heard of it after purchasing a box of Third Wave Water. Since I grew up nearby, I decided to stop in the next time I was home. Given how niche and nuanced Third Wave Water is, I thought I might be wandering into some kind of crazy detailed coffee lab. Admittedly, in my head I questioned whether a small town like Cedarville could support that concept. I'd say my expectations were mismatched. I came for a pour over, ideally a nice light roast like an Ethiopian. The staff was a little surprised, as in the person who took my order had to ask someone else if they did pour overs at all as it appeared to be an uncommon request (to be fair, they're not on the menu). They happened to be out of V60 filters so no dice there, and instead I had a french press of their Ethiopia Sidamo. It was okay -- a bit dark for my taste and ground like espresso, too fine for the french press, so the cup had a lot of soot-like coffee particles. The FoamAroma lids were a nice touch. This is the only coffee shop I've seen them in outside of Seattle. Another awesome aspect is the view from the back porch where you can sip your coffee and listen to the relaxing water roll by from a small stream. I sat there for a few hours on my laptop and most people ordered drinks like frappes or food like the panini sandwiches which looked good and there were about a dozen different ones available. Prices are very reasonable. It's definitely a mainstream small town crowd. After trying it for the first time, I'd classify Telemetry as a local neighborhood coffee shop or coffee house with mass appeal and not really third wave. If you're looking for a nearby third wave style coffee shop, I'd recommend visiting either Press in Dayton or Warehouse 4 in Vandalia. Overall, I know that the owner, Taylor, is knowledgeable and talented when it comes to coffee and Telemetry in my opinion is very catered to the local market -- if he did a slow bar or opened a more experimental shop, I'd definitely check it out. read more

Cute high tables and stools right when you enter, a second room with a good number of tables with a vintage feel, a basement room that looks like something straight out of a 13 colonies movie, and an outdoor deck with a great view of the creek. My husband and I had a "day date" and one of our favorite things to do is to hang out at a coffee place with good ambiance. We were looking for something new and I came upon this place online. This is decidedly further than we would normally drive for a cup of coffee, but we thought that it would be an adventure and I am glad that we took the trip. I'm not going to lie, I was getting worried as we pulled on the main drag and the whole block looked like it could use rehabbing, but we decided to be bold and we went into the only nice looking store front and it was lovely. The barista greeted us warmly, asked us specifics about our order (did my husband want lots of foam on his cappuccino or less...) and even offered to heat up a piece of coffee cake that was prewrapped. We took our coffees and coffee cake into the adjoining room with the fireplace and had a nice little breakfast. I REALLY wanted to check out their beautiful deck which overlooks a wooded creek, so despite the rain, we took the stairs down and went outside to see it and seriously folks- I would make the 45 minute drive just to sit on that deck, especially on a beautiful fall day, it's like you are in the trees! I could go on and on about how beautiful it was, but I should also mention that the coffee was great and the coffee cake was very good as well. I do most of my coffee drinking on bike rides and this location is very bike unfriendly. Asked me to take my bike outside. Mind you, my bike is easily worth more than all the cars parked outside the store. I ordered a nitro and an ice pop. The nitro was served in a plastic cup because the guy taking my order obviously wanted me to leave. The coffee was barely chilled, sour, and was not very carbonated and thick the way most nitros come. The honey lavender ice pop that I ordered was one of the last flavors left and it looked destroyed when he gave it to me but that didn't stop him from serving it still. The flavor of the ice pop was good but it's from an outside vendor. I can't really comment about the interior or the great exterior out back that I've heard about because I was promptly asked to leave after he served me my drink and ice pop. I should have known he was going to ask me to leave when he saw me walk in and looked me up and down as I got in line. I made a 56 mile ride out of this expedition to Cedarville to try this roaster and I have to say I won't be riding back out this way to have coffee from Telemetry. read more

Stoney creek roaster roasts their beans. They always provide me with quality coffee. There has only been one time when the baristas do not know how to make the drink I ordered. Their white chocolate raspberry mochas are the best I've had, and if you get a drip coffee and stay in the building, you can get free refills. I'm all about that.
