DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I hired Orkin for a comprehensive wasp treatment for a nest located near my chimney--directly above my newborn's bedroom. When I called to schedule the service, I was told it would not be an issue. I paid $415 expecting professional, effective removal. What followed was a frustrating, ineffective, and misleading experience: The first technician walked around my house but did not spray the actual nest. The nest continued to grow. I requested a follow-up, specifically noting the need for a ladder to reach the nest near the roof's peak. Two weeks later, a tech returned--without a ladder. Still, I insisted he spray again and watched him do it. Wasps returned again shortly afterward. I informed Orkin that the underlying issue--a gap in the masonry--needed to be sealed to prevent the wasps from coming back. At first, they said this would not be a problem. Then, they quoted me an extra $1,500 for a scissor lift rental, despite initially promising comprehensive service. When I questioned the added cost, I was told it was because the nest was "too high." This height limitation was never mentioned during scheduling or on their website. After nearly 1.5 months, I still have an active wasp nest above my child's room. If you want transparency, follow-through, and actual pest resolution, look elsewhere. Orkin failed on every level. Lied about a mouse problem to get money out of us. We had used Orkin for the past year due initially to having spiders. They told us during the first inspection that they found mice in the attic and basement when it is only a 1.5 year old house. They set up traps and we paid for them to seal up holes. The traps never found anything... Fast forward to last week when they showed up unannounced to check the status of the attic with the mice. They told us the problem was now worse and we needed to completely replace our insulation and were trying to charge us $10,000!! (This was after their "discount" off of $13,000). We've have 2 other pest companies come and inspect since and none of them have found ANY signs that there have EVER been mice. I asked them if they saw the holes that Orkin showed us picture of. The only holes they found they said were clearly made by HUMANS. No holes from mice whatsoever. read more

So we had to pay $500 for bedroom and $300 for living room Bed Bug treatment. Two sessions required, first for overall coverage and 2 weeks thereafter, another treatment. Stripped the two rooms, bagged up everything and began process of laundering all clothing, bedding etc. Had to protect food areas, dishes, utensils etc since tment is harmful according to directions. Have to stay out of the house four hours after tment. Sooo I found the spray they use on line for under $100 Given the work involved, it's a rip off by a wealthy privately owned National company. Treatment person was here under 45 mins spraying, will be same with next visit. Certainly it's not the employees fault re pricing but we'll do our own bed bug abatement from here on. Find locally owned providers, get references and consider doing work yourself. I'll keep treating all rooms prophylactically every 5-6 weeks from here on in! Bed bugs are a dirty little secret and one wants it treated and adults and nymphs gone ASAP but $800 PLUS tax is rediculous. My own fault, I signed the contract and our holidays were ruined. Response from Orkin was very good, O had to call to be certain they'd come as advertised. In that context, it was great. Anyway, think about alternatives. I didn't, should have, wasted Christmas money etc. No Senior discounts when I asked. Military only Employee technician is very nice but without knowing exactly what was performed by my own observation, it's just not settling by emotional reaction to the $800 plus tax. read more

I've used Orkin since 2013 for seasonal treatment of the exterior of our home for carpenter bees. They have been an easy business to deal with. The tech does a super complete job by actually using a ladder to reach high areas of the home, rather than treating the second floor area from the ground. He is friendly and co-operative. They will also re-treat during a specified time, if there are any issues. There are no surprises. I highly recommend them. Have never had any problems. I would give a 5 star rating, except for this year's huge 13% price increase. read more

I have been using Orkin for over 5 years now and I love my technician Jeff. He comes every other month and is very flexible around my schedule. I signed up for Orkin Pest Control because we had a whole host of issues. We had carpenter ants, wasps, silverfish, regular ants, and apparently mice. Since Jeff started coming, those thing have disappeared. We also had hundreds of very small beetles one spring and Jeff came right away and got rid of them for us. He still checks every time for them to make sure they haven't come back. I feel much better about the wasps/bees that generally show up every year because I know that I can call Jeff and he will be there, at the most, within a day or two to get rid of them, and if he can't make it, someone else will come. read more

Techs never arrived at scheduled time. I had an apt window 12-4 on a Saturday - they showed up at 10 - I was out & had to run home. I asked for a call on the way - never happened. Service for 4 on so after work - they came at 2 & I had to run home. I called each time. This happened at least 5 times. I jus cancelled my service with them. read more

Came to give me a quote on mice removal. Offered three quotes. 1. Removal of mice - a few hundred $ 2. Spray, caulk holes - $3500.... 3. Replace all insulation in attic - $12,500.... My house is 9 years old. I found it hard to believe my insulation was in that bad of shape so I got another quote from a different company. They thought it was ridiculous to replace my insulation that had some mouse poop on it. I think the salesman saw that I had a nice house and thought he could bleed me. I emailed them twice. First asking if I was reading the quotes right because that was not what I was expecting which he replied to and said yes that was the amount. I emailed again telling them that I was getting another quote and I asked if he worked on commission. The Orkin salesman never replied. Careful what they recommend. They may have been right on how much the insulation would have cost, but there was NO Reason to replace it. read more

Very bad business practices. Lied about contract which was to be for one season for one service and one year for another service and now after many attempts to get copy of the contracts they added in four years for one and two years for another with service charges for the contract years not the services themselves. This company appears to have very shady practices and I would not recommend. read more

Orkin was here on April 12th 2021. I was not happy that the worker didn't treat every room. He would do a hit and miss. He left the house and I was at my computer, I turned around and there was a spider on the ceiling. The reason I kept Orkin, was to control all kinds of ants and spider. I have a terrible fear of spiders. I have had break downs because there is a spider, and no one is here to kill it. The day after there was a spider on my counter in the kitchen. Again, no one here to kill it. Thank God for vacuum cleaners. Thursday evening, spider on the kitchen ceiling. Ok, I figured it will take at least 24 hour for the spray to work. This was 2 weeks later. Yesterday, I got in the shower and so was a spider. I almost fell trying to get out of the shower. I cried and prayed that God would help me. The light blub hit, the vacuum . I went to suck it up, and it fell on the floor. More crying. I calmed down and sucked it up. Went to get back in the shower, and another spider hanging out. I got this one on first try. Then I was opening the front door and I see little red ants on my hardwood floor. You all may think this is funny, but when you have such a great fear of something, it is very upsetting. I pay faithfully every time they come to treat. I would expect that they would treat every room in the house as well as around the outside of the home and on all the porches. I am ready to end my contract with them. We will see how it goes when they come this week. I may have to update my review, and I hope it is for the better. read more

Have been with Orkin the past several years after being grandfathered in with pricing and service when they acquired my account after their purchase of Flower City Pest Control. This year they didn't stand by their commitment of the contract as what I was promised when they took over the old company. I don't like people or companies that don't stand behind their word. I will pay more with their competitor rather than do business with a company that doesn't stand behind their promises. Oh, and by the way Orkin, I have many rental properties that has used your service for the last time. read more
