I never thought I'd be writing a review let alone a glowing review of a pest control company but i have 2 stories if you'll bear with me. If you won't let me first tell you about the inspector in both cases, Ernesto Lopez. To the point he is just simply a nice guy, fair, honest, reliable, and did a complete inspection explaining every aspect of what was needed. As for the 1st inspection of a house I had just purchased Orkin, based on his review saved me around $1500. (the sellers had their own inspection) Baecause of that I asked him to inspect a house i was selling whereby a different company estimated a cost of $26000. Orkins cost was around $11000. , $3500 of which was woodwork. Here's the thing, Ernesto said if we did the work he would come back and inspect it and if completed to his satisfaction would submit a clearance to show the work had been done. And that's exactly what he did. That house is now under contract. I know people have different experiences and knowing you have to pay to kill the little critters infecting you home is not the most pleasant thing to do ,but if you have to, it at least takes a little bit of the sting out when you can rely on the honest and fair services and their employees, especially if you have one like Ernesto. read more

Had an 8am appointment with Ernesto and he never called me or showed up. I'm writing this review at 8:32 because the office also is not answering. Can't say I'm surprised being disappointed by many service providers, this is just another Santa Maria company that has lost my trust upon first impression. Recent quote of $2K to gas the little 3 bedroom house. Based on cubic feet of residence.

Very prompt and courteous service. The technician explained the procedure, cost, and safety of the chemical used, particularly its toxicity to pets and the environment. Then, he came out around dawn, "dusted" the wasp nest, and asked me to follow up with him to make sure all the wasps were dead. I was totally satisfied with their service and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. read more

We have used Orkin on and off for a couple years. They do good work at a fair price. Kevin and the team do a thorough and thoughtful job.

We had a possible bad bug scare from a visiting guest, and we called Orkin. Eduardo came and he was awesome. He checked everything thoroughly and put me at ease. I'm so glad that we contacted them was such a relief to have him give us the all clearI will be calling them for future issues like gophers and spiders. This place is a JOKE! Go to another exterminator. I got this place for a property I own bc they had great reviews on here. Wanted to stray away from the local bigger companies. Boy, WAS I WRONG! Made an appt. service manager than wants my contract on a certain time of day and he couldn't pick it up from me (I was at work so I had to rush after , or couldn't be delayed till the following day.. so I had to go TO HIM as he waited in line at HIS bank running his own errands. But yet wanted MY business right ? I should have known than, this was going to be on a bad start. NEXT, We schedule for a day and he gives the time frame between 11-2.because I am work , I had to arrange time w/ my father to be at me home for this. My father had taken a day OFF from his work to be home for this scheduled fumigation and tent process..... 2pm, 3pm, and nothing. People didnt show up till close to 4pm!!! Didn't not respect the fact we lost a day of work to have this arranged , had we known they would be late, my father could have stayed at work and got off at 230pm and still been able to be there for their work. BIG TIME NO!!! So tent is finally put up ... 2days later I get a call stating someone opened up the tent. .. I'm asking if it's affected it's potency of what they used and what's policy. Manager stated no it won't and all will be fine. By the way this is fumiagaton for rats, termites, cockroaches!!! NOT once was I told he was going to come back and RE SPRAY eggs of cockroaches bc they would still have chance of living !!!!! 2 weeks come by .. and I call mananger again stating theirs a stench of rats in upper attic. He returns. Goes to attic and denies ANY sights of them stating that the smell would have been really bad or it had disintegrated by than. 3 full weeks now pass by ... and HUGE flies coming from vents only and we are now seeing cockroaches again. ... CALLEd ORKIN again. Manager Eduardo O. States. Oh I forgot to spray them a week later ... so he arranges a time to "so call spray it ". 1month ans 1 week later STILL cockroaches. I email Orkin now and advise them there's still cockroaches. This PLACE IS A NUISANCE!!!!! Can't get the job done right the first time , disrespectful of your time despite the time frame they give , their 2 hour window and STILL LATE! NOT HAPPY with this service at all!!! I believe you can be late by accident , but do the work right in the end. Never again. read more

I rarely write a Review Update, however, this is one instance that deserved one. Within a day of posting my review for Orkin, Eric from the company responded via a private message via Yelp. He politely explained that I was mistaken about their company payment policy by thinking autopay was a requirement, instead it is offered as a convenience. Again, I highly recommend Alfredo and his services. What I wish he would have told me is that if we are not home and they can only service the front of the home due to a locked gate, the customer has the option to schedule the rest of the service (inside and around the exterior of the house) before you pay. Genius--and new news to me! I particularly appreciated that Eric wrote: "A thoughtful 4-star review is worth ten 5-star reviews that just say we're great without any background. I do, however, want you to feel that all your interactions with us in the future are 5-star." I truly appreciated this--along with him taking the time to respond to all reviews that have been composed via Yelp. read more

I've had to call this company twice in the last 6 months. The first time I had a very aggressive starling building a penthouse in the eaves of my roof over my front door. First they made sure it wasn't an endangered species before doing anything. When I was able to take a photo of it to determine the species they had the nest removed and a steel mesh in place in no-time. No bird is moving in. Great job. More recently I had to call for a termite situation. We discovered we had subterranean termites under the foundation. The job was quick and painless and the worker was conscientious and polite. The process must've worked since I've not seen more signs of activity. This company is great. They follow through. They're very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. I wanted to wait a couple months after original contract to write a review. I first called them after another company failed to show up. Luckily, Orkin was willing to come within the next couple days to check out my ant problem. The service has been wonderful, they made sure to explain to me what they were going to use and if there were any safety issues as I do have kids and pets in the household. My pest problem has been taken care of. I love the fact that I get reminder calls before they are supposed to come out every other month. Their people skills are great. Very responsive and professional. Eric came by to give us a complimentary inspection when I had concerns that we might be having a termite problem. He was very informative and told us what he was looking out for, why he felt that we did not need to be concerned at the moment, and the timelines for which we should look into getting another inspection done. He also explained different types of termites, their behavior, etc. Seems like they have very respectable business practices. We were in need of a fumigation for our mobile home. We had been getting some repairs done and noticed some signs of termites. We called to get an inspection and was surprised they were available the next day for it. Ernesto did our inspection, He was very thorough and explained a lot of things to me. I messaged this business online. I got a same day response, had a guy come by and remove my wasp nest the same day, like 2 hours later, and it all cost less then half of what other companies in the area quoted me. I called Orkin yesterday for an appointment because I had a rat trapped in between the hallway and two rooms. Today when The Orkin man came on time he was very polite and very thorough, he came and he assess the situation very well. he came to the conclusion that was one rat. he provided several extensive sticky traps, showed me how to use them where to place them, and said this would be no charge to me. this was very refreshing, if the problem escalates I will call back most definitely because I had a lot of faith and trust in him and what he said.it's very nice day and times when someone will do something for free! so my hats off and a wonderful endorsement to Orkin and the Orkin Man. we called them had ants ants ants!! couldnt get rid of them no matter what we used, or did they just kept coming back. Called Orkin and the tech came and sprayed the outside of the house, a few days later ants ants ants!!! they were back!! We called the tech and he came back put some bait inside the house and they are GONE!!! YAY!!! Great service, great products (whatever they used), Highly recommend!! read more

Just had my initial done. They were so nice and polite. Very professional. I have severe medical problems, that they were more then willing and able to work with, using great due diligence. As i just had my initial, literally 30 minutes ago, I cant speak to long term, but they were already feeding at the bait. If recommending just on customer service, this is the company for you. I used Orkin SLO,(A.E.T.) fumigation to terminate my termites. Working with Eduardo Lopez was a pleasure his experience and communication was above average he also provided extra bags at my request to pack our belongings prior to fumigation. Orkin suggested a Handyman named C.J. for the repair of extensive water rot and termite damage done to my home. This included replacing and repairing exterior eves on our 2 story home, removing and taking away a TV dish and replacing the side garage side door. C.J. is amazing, I would highly recommend Orkin and C.J. (who also repaired our side gate) As we all know It's difficult to find a quality craftsman but Orkin has succeeded in its use of C.J. Hopefully I will not have to worry about termites for sometime but if needed I would be happy to use this company again. You can trust them and their referrals. read more

Can't thank these guys enough! Last night I was cooking dinner and noticed there was a snake dangling out of my kitchen cabinet.... A SNAKE IN MY KITCHEN! Within minutes of that, a mouse ran by my foot. While my first thought was "burn the house down" I knew that might be a bit extreme. My fiancé was out of town so I requested a quote from Orkin and within minutes, the owner had messaged me back saying he'd get someone out here first thing in the morning. Almost every other company I reached out to said they could help with the mouse but I was on my own with the snake. Fortunately, Garrett arrived here this morning and was up to the task.
