This is the first review I've written, but these guys deserve it! Super fast response time! Made it out the same day to give us an estimate and look into our carpet beetle problem. After spending almost 2 hours finding the source of the problem and talking us through everything, I asked how much we owed them, and they said we didn't owe anything. They said if they need to come back and spray for us or need to use any chemicals they'll charge us, but the estimate was free. I tried to pay them something, but they refused. Can't thank these guys enough! Last night I was cooking dinner and noticed there was a snake dangling out of my kitchen cabinet.... A SNAKE IN MY KITCHEN! Within minutes of that, a mouse ran by my foot. While my first thought was "burn the house down" I knew that might be a bit extreme. My fiancé was out of town so I requested a quote from Orkin and within minutes, the owner had messaged me back saying he'd get someone out here first thing in the morning. Almost every other company I reached out to said they could help with the mouse but I was on my own with the snake. Fortunately, Garrett arrived here this morning and was up to the task. I was scheduled for an initial inspection and treatment between 1-4pm. Was home from work the entire time....nobody showed up. Nobody called. I contacted Orkin's customer care department 2x, and they couldn't even reach the local office. Here it is the next day, and I still have not heard a thing from Orkin San Luis Obispo. Not to apologize for the inconvenience, and not even to attempt to reschedule. Worthless. However, Clark Pest was able to schedule me within 24 hours. Now my home has been treated by a competent and responsive firm. Definitely do NOT choose Orkin San Luis Obispo! read more

A week after posting my initial review, I received a phone call from one of the company's owners who apologized for his company's failure to follow through. He also explained the challenges his company faced as it expanded to a new area and that changes were already being made to prevent such lapses in the future. I was impressed that he took the time to reach out to me even though he realized I had contracted the job to another company. It is rare for one's concerns to be so acknowledged and it's encouraging to see acceptance of responsibility and a resolution for improvement. Orkin pest control answered the phone and came by that very day to assess my problem. He, Eric , was friendly and professional and gave me my options, no hard sale or pushy salesmanship. He actually went out of his way to check wood planks in the garage. I did not have to hire him for services but would definitely call them if I needed something. He spent around 45 minutes explaining everything to me and did not charge for the visit. read more
