Some people love this place and others hate it...we thought it was just a fine place to have a big party. Our church had its 30th anniversary party here and we had a lot of fun...our church also had its 25th here five years ago. The rooms are nice and large, and the dance floors are perfect for taking a spin. The food was a bit better than what you would normally expect from a rubber-chicken-circuit kind of place...we had a fixed plate of a small piece of filet mignon and a small boneless chicken breast...both very nice and tender. Our deal also came with an open bar...supposedly with top-shelf liquors. While my definition of top-shelf might differ...they did an ok job of offering middle-of-the-road libations. All in all this place is very nice. There is tons of parking outside...the staff is perky and friendly...the facilities are just fine - clean and roomy, and I am sure we will have our 35th anniversary here, which is perfectly ok with me. We went to a 50th anniversary party here. I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the food was good, especially the Polish sausage and sauerkraut. Everything was served family style and we were offered "refills" on the entrees when our table of nine depleted a few items. The bartender was friendly and eager to please (though he did openly and with comment pass judgement on my drink of choice). Two complaints: My sister-in-law asked a server for a plate of tomatoes instead of salad and the server said no. My SIL explained it was for her three-year-old son and the server suggested she give him a roll instead. Stay classy, waitstaff. There was also a party in the room next to ours and the space was divided by an air wall, which meant we could hear their band/DJ (and vice versa, I'm sure). As we left, I peeked in the other room and realized both bands were set up against the same wall. That's just poor planning. read more

I have to say as I searched for wedding venues in the Chicagoland area, I didn't know of this place but stopped in when I passed it shopping in the area....I was very happy with the visit and quickly booked our wedding! On Oct 12th was our big day and it was great! The owners Leonard & Tom were very easy going to plan with, you could tell they had been in the business for years, and they do all they can to accommodate your needs. This was the best place to have my reception. Lenny is very easy going and anything I asked for happened. They even set up for me perfectly since there was an event the night before. This place is a con. They refill their Jack Daniel bottles with cheap whiskey. I called them out on it, and the bartender pulled out a new bottle from a special shelf and opened it and poured me a real Jack and Coke. However, even after I called him out on it he continued to pour other guests from the tampered bottle, yet he would always pour mine from the new bottle. I didn't want to make a scene at my cousins wedding so I let it slide. However, this place should not be trusted. It is sad that they would be willing to do this just to make a buck. Makes you wonder what else they are doing that is dishonest. Don't trust this place. Don't give them your business. read more

I had my daughter's farewell party/ bridal shower last night at this banquet hall and we got so many wonderful compliments on... The place:clean and beautiful. The food : hot and delicious. We had a great experience at Orland Chateau from start to finish. The owners, Tom and Leonard, are very laid back and easy to work with. We had come from several other venues in the area where we were pressured and almost bullied in some cases. This experience was a 180. We felt each choice was ours. The flat fee included the dinner, cake, bar and flowers. There was no need or pressure to upgrade. My hubby went in for a tasting with his parents and had a great time. We choose family style-beef, baked chicken and Italian sausage. The whole meal was delicious and many of our guests took advantage of the unlimited food. We also had many guests with dietary restrictions-vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, allergies. Tom and Leonard were very accommodating and all requests were met. We had the option to choose our own beers and any special liquor which was a nice touch. Champagne or wine service is provided at dinner. We choose the champagne and it was so good I ended up drinking it all night . Flowers came as part of the package- we just provided the colors. I wasn't expecting much, but they were amazing and matched our peacock wedding colors perfectly... Way beyond the carnations I was expecting. The venue also has an outdoor area which we were able to use for the ceremony, but we had a back up plan to use the dance floor ready to go if needed. Overall, Tom and Leonard were a joy to work with and we will definitely have future events here. read more

Orland Chateau was an excellent place to have my wedding! The service and assistance was great and they offered a reasonable price! The interior has gone under some renovations and it looks spectacular. I would definitely use Orland Chateau again and have recommended them to family and friends. This company is family owned and you can feel the warmth when you walk in. Leonard is a very friendly and funny guy and Tom is also!! The food is fantastic! My wedding guests were astonished at how great the food was and how much they got! We chose the family style dinner and it was more than enough. We ate like kings! One thing I really liked about Orland Chateau was that the wedding cake was included in the cost! I will admit I was nervous at first but when I tasted the cake from Naples Bakery I was very excited! We had our August 2011 wedding at Orland Chateau. The owners are two brothers and both of them are so easy to deal with. Their list of liquor included is really great, and they also let us choose any beer we wanted and were willing to add any aditional liquor to the list as long as we let them know ahead of time what we wanted. The food was absolutely excellent, not at all like other banquet halls. The hall itself is very well kept and updated. Whenever we went there to pick up or drop off anything there was always workers there doing maintnance. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. They provided beautiful floral centerpieces. I would choose them all over again, and I highly recomend them for anyone else planning a wedding. read more

We just held an 80th birthday party at the Orland Chateau and it was perfect! I was worried when I called because they were so nonchalant on the phone. But after reading other reviews, I realized this is normal for them. The staff was very nice, the room was lovely and very clean and the food was out of this world. You can't beat the price and ask for a more accommodating group to help you with your event. You need to bring your own A/V, projector, CD player, etc... but it was worth it for the price, the staff and the amazing food. If you are considering having an event in the Orland Park area, I wouldn't go anywhere else. This place is incredible! read more

The person we dealt with booking this venue was very laid back, It made me feel a bit ill at ease...however he was polite. We booked, flowers and delicious cake came with the package. The flowers were roses in a tall vase in the table and were better than what I was expecting. Dinner was served and pop still wasn't served until I had to ask the servers. I felt that this venue was more than fair with us, we even had a few extra out of town guest that arrived unexpectedly and accommodations were made at last minute for them. My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Orland Chateau in June 2011. After attending a few other weddings over the past year and a half, I decided to do my due diligence and give this place the credit it deserves. We could not have had a more positive experience. The place is family-owned, and the two brothers were so accommodating my wife and I almost felt guilty. Anything we wanted to make our day special, they were fine with. They coordinated with all the vendors (photo booth, chair covers, DJ, etc) so we had nothing to worry about, and made great recommendations without forcing anything upon us. One of the biggest highlights is the food. The owners recommended the German Potato soup, and sure enough, everyone loved it. The family-style entrees - including the pork and dumplings - were also raved about by the guests. The dance floor was big, the decor was classy, the parking lot had more than enough space for 100+ cars, and the night as a whole went off without a hitch. The Orland Chateau was great. I had my wedding there and it was totally awesome. We had champagne during the entire wedding. It was served to our guests during dinner and at the bar. The banquet doors don't lock because there are none. When you enter from outside into the foyer the 2 doorways going into the banquet hall have no doors. The owners Tom and Leonard were very kind and easy to work with. The waitresses we very accommodating and pleasant. As for the food, my guests said it was the best. I totally agree with them. Disaster. Unresponsive I paid an agreed upon price and they had the staff telling my tables 'the bride did not pay for you to have champagne at dinner so your not getting any' - I did it was part of the contract but my guest were coming up to me telling me how rude and disrespectful the staff was. They did not set up tables, luckily I paid a wedding planner to help and it ended up costing me an additional 500. I even accommodated the venue by removing chairs I ordered bc theirs are outdated and they snapped at me bc it wasn't soon enough .. When originally they said the company could pick them up on Monday. That cost me an additional 500. They said they'd allow guest to enter at 430 they refused to open the doors till 5pm. They never put out my parting gifts, when I asked why they didn't they said 'that's not our job to put stuff out' ... I'm confused it's a wedding hall that's precisely their job. AVOID at all cost. It's not worth it and the food is absolutely disgusting! I've also filed a report with the better business bureau. Avoid I can't express how much I stress to AVOID this disgusting place. read more

Myself and my mother went to visit this banquet hall as a possible reception venue. Upon arriving, there was no one there to greet us. I had to call their number to tell them I was in the lobby. The actual space is old looking. A renovation would make it look so much better. The actual size of the banquet room was good. The problem comes in when we sat in the office to talk about the real stuff. The $$$. The gentleman explained their packages. They do not offer as much as other banquet halls (i.e. dessert table, appetizers). My mom asked if they had a dj that they work with. The guy says yes but they do not have a dj that plays "our" type of music. Being that I am black, he says that white people and black people listen to different types of music. I was so taken a back by this statement. My (as a black woman) favorite artists are Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys. My mothers favorite genre of music is country. I found it incredibly prejudice that someone would think that it was completely acceptable to judge me based on the color of my skin concerning what music I like. I drove past this place a million times going to the mall and never thought it'd be as nice as it is inside. Best of all, the price was extremely reasonable. I was able to work with the owners to create my dream reception. They are very accommodating and everything was top notch. I was also surprised to see the beautiful fountain and sitting area they added in the back. Extra bonus because they didn't have that when we booked. It was perfect for some good photos. I was very disappointed in the Orland Chateau. I bought 5 tickets to an Church event. Each ticket was $45. The Chicken was very dry. The beef was red/not cooked very well. The Green Beans was so hard, I could not eat them. The only thing I could eat was the mashed potatoes that was just o.k. When we asked for second on the mashed potatoes seeing that that was the only thing we could safely eat, when the young lady bought out more mash potatoes, they were very lumpy so we did not eat it. The ham looked ok but no one at our table eat pork. We asked for some more fruit punch and the young lady gave us a half of picture of red pop. She did not tell us that they were out of fruit punch. This young lady was hard to track down and never smiled once. We had to wait a very long time just to get the mashed potatoes and what we though was fruit punch. The sample taste test had to have been better that what we were served. I will never go to this place again on an empty stomach! read more

I had left menus and thank you candy boxes to be set out prior to the arrival of guest the day before and when I arrive I was placing everything out myself. I had no champagne for the toast it came 30 minutes after the toast, I had to ask the waiters to start dinner and for them to remove the cake table from the dance floor---poooooor service by far and to top it off was told gratuity was not include when it is clearly stated in the contract that it is part of the price. I attended a beautiful wedding at Chateau Orland. The food was okay. The service was bare minimum. The rolls were cold. The chicken was dry and mostly wings. Nobody asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. Coffee or tea was not offered. As the waitresses were cleaning the tables after dinner, one tried to take my husband;s water and he stopped her and moved the glass closer to him. As he moved his hand away from the glass she picked it up and took it. We both said he was drinking it.She sighed and walked away. Another girl came over as she heard me say, You should apologize and get him a new glass. We were told to go to the bar. That wasn't the problem, It was them being rude. THey refused to give us their name and disappeared to the back room not to be seen again. Complaints to the person who said he was the manager were replied with ,"Sometime we hire rude people." For the rest of the night the manager watched our table, as if he were going to cause more trouble. Nobody cleaned off any tables after this. The place was otherwise clean and the wedding went on. They should get some real waitresses who know how to treat their guests. read more
