Each visit to the Heartland managed office had me leaving w/ a $8,000.00 estimate of work that was "essential" according to their assessments. Yet I was experiencing no problems and only went in for a cleaning. A friend told me about Family & Cosmetic Dentistry NOTE: FAMILY & COSMETIC DENTISTRY IS NOT MANAGED BY HEARTLAND.... I am super happy I went to them. Not only did the front desk staff walk me through the process of how to get the work that I was being told I needed done, but they were able to price the work to a reasonable $4000.00. After making the appointment and having Dr. Morra look at the X rays taken in his office, he informed me that I had to small cavities that he needed to fill. The Heartland facilities wanted to put crowns on these teeth. Long story short, all the work that needs to be done totals up to $210.00 w/o insurance. $42.00 w/ insurance. His front desk staff even told me where to go to get a cost effective insurance plan. If you have to have dental work done, go to this office. Even if it isn't close to you in proximity. It's worth the effort just to deal with an ethical dental office.

They quoted me a thousand dollars for my treatment with my insurance. A couple of weeks ago I rescheduled to have my teeth cleaned. When I got there today, they said they could not clean my teeth. I need to pay a thousand something to get the treatment before I can clean my teeth. I asked them can I just get clean without getting the treatment done. They say no. I feel they try to make money from patients.

I just happened to see something on Facebook that they no longer are in network for Delta Dental - so I called to check how much my responsibility would be! Not only was I never notified by the office that I would now be out of network - but they ignored my request for information for 6 weeks. When I called back two days before my cleaning - turns out my "free" cleaning will now be around $300. So no - I will find an in network dentist - but thanks for delaying my cleaning probably ~3 months it will take to get in someplace new.

The office is easy to find, very clean and organized, and comfortable. The parking situation isn't too bad either; small parking lot with a couple of spots, but it's rarely full. In terms of experience, the level of respect and care that this office's staff exudes is unmatched. The women who work the front desk are kind and informative, and always greet me with a smile. The hygienist is equally as lovely and always does a great job with my teeth. The dentist is knowledgable, friendly, and never upsells products or services that are not needed. In other dentist offices, I've always felt like I had to deny so many unneeded services and products just to complete my appointment, and it really detracted from my experience and made me feel like my HCP cared more about making extra cash than giving me the care I needed. That has never been the experience here. It's hard to find health care providers that care about their patients as much as Dr. Salazar and staff do, and I will be going to them for the foreseeable future. I recommend them to all of my friends and family alike!
