I was in the dental field for 10 years and worked with a few doctors who all referred their patients to this office, so when I needed a periodontal consultation myself, I knew just where I wanted to go! Greeted warmly by the front desk team, check-in was easy and quick. I had already finished the "paperwork" over the phone via a provided link prior to the appointment. The assistant who brought me in and took my x-ray was very welcoming and soft-handed. Dr. Roca-Mendro conducted a thorough examination, great chair side manner, listened to my concerns and addressed them all with empathy and compassion. She put me at ease regarding my possible treatment and took the time to answer questions and explain her reasonings. The office is beautiful and clean. The rooms are peaceful. 1 star -- and only because I can't give zero. Our experience at this practice was unacceptable from start to finish. The issues began before my wife's appointment with Kimmie in the front office. She insisted our insurance wouldn't cover the CBCT scan because "my wife already had one this year." We told her that was my claim, not my wife's. Instead of checking properly, she argued with us for nearly 10 minutes, suggesting the other dentist billed incorrectly or that we just didn't remember. I ended up calling the insurance myself and then doing a three-way call with the insurance agent, who confirmed that the benefits were available for my wife. The agent also made it clear that Kimmie only looked online and did not check the correct channels to get accurate information. When my wife finally saw Dr. Ryan, she wasn't given any options -- just told "here's what needs to be done," shown a cartoon diagram of the procedure, and then redirected to other issues she wasn't even there for. He claimed her gums were "super inflamed" and that she had "tons of plaque," which was confusing because she had been seen by her regular dentist just two weeks prior and received a clean bill of health. To make matters worse, a second periodontist confirmed just days later that her gums were healthy. This makes the service seem sketchy and our right "sellsy". Next issue: getting antibiotics for an implant-tooth infection on a Friday morning. The receptionist (not the doctor) told my wife it "wasn't the implant" and acted like she didn't need antibiotics at all -- again, giving medical advice with no evaluation. This level of care -- or lack thereof -- is unacceptable. I work in the medical field. I know how insurance works. Our office always verifies benefits, but this office seems to place everything on the patient to figure out. When presenting the treatment plan, they openly said they didn't call insurance but "they'll pay something, so you'll just be excited when they do." Meanwhile, they required 35% up front, which could easily be more than what we actually owe -- leaving us to fight for a refund later. That is absolutely not how a practice should operate. We will never return and cannot recommend this office to anyone. read more

Terrible experience. I would not even pass by this office again! So pissed and angry with the office. I have both health and dental insurance - when I visited and I was given initial quote for two implants - Payed at least $5,000 in two payments (even with dental insurance). Two and a half years later I had problem with the implant and had to visit the office and (without addressing my problem) I was sent straight to the accountant who was beyond rude - she said that they are sending me for collection because I have an unpaid bill of $2,300 that they will lower to $1,700 because they are good like that. I was shocked and I said I am pretty sure I paid my part because other wise I would not have the procedure. Then I was told that they are charging me for sinus lift that my dental didn't pay for. The accountant - the person who handles the payments - said that she will be super nice and she will request this payment from the health insurance (two years after the sinus lift!!!) and if they decline she will ask the dental again. She said it was my job to call and do all that if I don't want to pay! I asked how this is done because I never had to ask my insurance for payment!??? Again she said she will be nice to ask the insurance herself even this is not her job (!!!) and I have to keep an eye for a letter from the insurance. Nothing came for three months even when I kept an eye for a letter from the health insurance. The last Friday afternoon of 2024 I received a call from the same accountant who told me I will be sent to collections for that amount and if I don't want that to happen I need to pay. I asked if she has requested this payment from the insurance because I haven't received letter as an answer to this request. I said I have to make few call and I will call her later. Then I called my insurance and asked for that claim- the insurance answered there was never a claim put in place or any letter received (so very likely they lied). I had to go to the office that same Friday afternoon to pay $500 so they don't send me for collection although they probably already charged me the patient portion when they performed the sinus lift - I just don't remember. Terrible, terrible, terrible attitude and just astonishing how they allow this to happen and how they don't care about their patients!!! read more

Went to dr Ryan Mendro for a recommendation. he was the fourth periodontist i went to. He recommended Lanap $3,500.00 he did not inform me My gums were going to be burnt off that was not shared with me at all. Or I would not have chose this procedure at all. I had particles under my front 4 teeth after being hit by a pickleball in close contact while playing which made my gums bleed and caused an infection and particles going under. there was a cancellation the next day which i was informed of the burning off of the gums i could smell that big time. I took the appoinment June 25, 2024 I have been in severe pain ever since and i am thinking there is no solution for this at all. i sent all documents to dr scott cohen periodontist he said there is nothing more they can do. I am left with lowered gums my front teeth feel super naked, they burn constantly. He dr Ryan told me my teeth looked as though they melted why would you burn off my gums especially without informing me. at first do no harm. i had no idea this was going to be what was going to happen. but now as a consequence i am in constant pain in every waking minute and nothing stops this burning feeling its horrific and awful. I have been lucky to never have pain in my mouth or with my body. Now i have chronic non stop pain. my teeth are missing their clothes/gums. lanap should only be a last resort i do not at all recommend this. he said also dr ryan said my bone loss on my front bottom teeth i did not qualify for a gum graph so i am not sure why you did not inform me before doing this you were going to burn my gums they dont grow back. You did not tell me specifics, i took a next day cancellation appointment and my gums feel to thin there now the teeth the four in the front are searching for gums that do not exsist. My OTHER OPTION YOU DID NOT MENTION BUT I WENT TO FOUR OTHER PERIODONTISTS AND DR LEE M COTE RECOMMENDED ROOT PLANING AND SCALING I WOULD HAVE HAD TO WAIT 6 WEEKS THEY WERE BOOKED SO WISH I TOOK THAT OPTION. IM IN SOOOO MUCH FREAKING PAIN ONLY BY THE GUMS AND TEETH MY FRONT 4 I SMELLED BURNING SO THE GUMS WERE BURNT AND THERE ARE LESS AS THEY NOW FEEL THINNER AND NAKED MY TEETH ARE MISSING THEIR CLOTHES IF YOU WILL. MY FOUR FRONT TEETH THE NERVES DO NOT HAVE ANY GUM PROTECTION. WHEN I CAME BACK YOU SAID I DONT QUALIFY FOR A GUM GRAPH TOO MUCH BONE LOSS SO THERES SEEMINGLY ONLY LIVING IN SERIOUS PAIN. I HAVE PAIN NO WHERE ELSE. I HAD DEBREE UNDER THOSE 4 TEETH AND I FEEL I WAS NOT GIVEN A FULL DISCLOSURE. SO UPSET NO ONE ELSE WARNED WITH A REVIEW. THE HEAD OF THE DENTAL ASSOCIATION ALSO SAID THERES NOTHING MORE HE CAN DO. MY GUMS NO LONGER BLEED AT ALL BUT WHAT EVER WAS DONE HAS NOT HAD ANY GUM GROWING BACK AND YES LANAP BURNT THE GUMS I COULD SMELL IT WITH MY NOSE. read more

I'm not usually the person who writes reviews, however, if this review can help someone else, then I am glad. The team at Precision Periodontics is outstanding. I called the office shortly after Thanksgiving. I was in terrible pain from an abcessed molar and the pain of a partially impacted wisdom tooth. If you have ever experienced nerve pain complicated with an infection, you will understand the pain I was in. Dr. Mendro was out of the country on the Monday morning that I called, but his office manager, Tammy, was wonderful. She verified my insurance coverage immediately and was able to arrange it with the dental hygienist that they would come in early the very next day to "squeeze me in" right at the time the office was scheduled to open. Dr. Mendro would be back then. Considering I was a new patient, this consideration was above and beyond in my opinion! Not only did I get in first thing in the morning, but Dr. Mendro was so professional in explaining the problem I was having and exactly what needed to be done. Understanding the pain I was experiencing, Dr. Mendro and his team managed their schedule so I could have my procedure done the same day. It was obvious that other patients were also being taken care of in the office, but their office is so organized that nothing seemed to miss a beat. Just as a side note, the office has all of the latest tech equipment. I am sure that helps the office staff, technicians and Dr. Mendro to work as efficiently as possible. This WAS a good Periodontist. I had very expensive LNAP, traditional flap and a sinus lift several years ago. Now I am in a maintenance treatment plan where I need to see the hygienist twice yearly. Dr Mendro ordered a deep scale and root planing in July and it was scheduled for Mid January. Hygienist did half mid January and then they cancelled the other half bc Hygienist was out of the office sick and now they can't reschedule until April. This is almost a year from the original order from the Dr. regular maintenance is imperative to the success of the various surgeries. Adding to the problem is ...how do I schedule a follow up cleaning in 3 months for half of my mouth? The cancelled appointment was the error of the office and some accommodation should be made, even after several calls and I am hearing no remorse or effort to resolve the situation on their part. Also I called for a copy of my billing and payments for 2018 taxes 4 times and Tammy has not returned my calls. Dr Mendro married and is now joined by his wife also a Periodontist and they moved into a new expensive office. Maybe they are only interested in patients paying for the more expensive treatments but it is very irresponsible not to help existing patients with the required maintenance. I dunno maybe without the proper maintenance patients then need more expensive treatments. I feel the level of patient care is beneath 1 star. Also look for recent reviews. read more
