Needless to…read moresay, I went into the O.R. with a measure of trepidation - even though I've had surgery elsewhere over the years on both ankles, one shoulder, one detached retina, both hips replaced and one knee replacement. In other words, I am not unfamiliar with what major surgery entails, especially post-op. But this surgery involved my CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM! Scary thought. Dr. Snavely was not just good, nor was he great, he was - and remains (had my six-week follow-up yesterday) - PHENOMENAL!! Six weeks out of surgery, I am walking without my pre-existing "waddle/penguin" gait, turning and stopping "on a dime" (okay, a bit of hyperbole; I am not nor was I ever Barry Sanders) with nary a trace of pain. I am ELATED about not just the result, but also the commitment to the patient that I have experienced. I need his IV therapy and Dr. Fernandez thought IV chelation would be the best way to get rid of toxins. From the moment I walked in, was greeted with smiles and professionalism. Everyone in this office I met are so friendly and caring. Dr. Kalidas is a Bredesen trained physician. He is a very knowledgeable compassionate doctor. He suggested a few weeks of wellness IV to bring my nutrient level up and than IV chelation beginning January to get rid of the heavy metal toxins. Sounds like a plan, I can't wait for the new year! The IV suite consists of recliners around the room. It took about an hour. It was a nice social hour. There were a few other woman there. I met a lovely young woman named Nicole she's a Functional Medicine health coach if your looking for one. Very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this office. She truly cares for her patients... and wants to help them get well... I felt like I was dying this year...literally...I couldn't stand without toppling over or running into walls, I couldn't put two thoughts together... I'd forget what I was trying to say MID-WAY in a sentence! I looked like I hadn't slept in months...deep, dark circles under my eyes...my family was super worried about me... I had begun to "get my affairs in order". :( I didn't want my husband or kids to have to get rid of useless stuff when I was gone... they'd be dealing with enough emotional issues... so I was trying to make things easier on them... WHILE just enjoying the rest of my days... Frandzie was determined to find out what was wrong with me and help me... I had blood work done, got some other tests done that I'd never even heard of before, and went to several specialists she referred me to, personally... She went above and beyond to take care of me... Come to find out, I had completely STOPPED producing hormones... Apparently that's a really bad thing...It was suspected that I might have Addison's... Thankfully, that's not what I had... Through her very thorough testing...she discovered the reason my body stopped functioning like it was supposed to. It was actually something super weird that you wouldn't think would cause any issues... One of the medications I was taking (that a different Dr. prescribed me), ALMOST killed me. Once I got OFF that medication, I started improving... I'm not 100% yet, but I'm on my way to being well... :) I'm no longer running into walls, or toppling over... and I can think again... I don't seem like an Alzheimer's patient anymore... :) I am thankful to God that I found this practice and these wonderful people... especially Frandzie... :) The office staff are wonderful! Always kind and willing to help me in any way... I feel at home here... The office at Vanguard Medical Center, is such is so warm and inviting...and when you're called back to a room, it's so cozy... more like a home than a medical office... And Frandzie sits with you and talks to you like a REAL person... You KNOW she cares... Not like most medical offices, where they come in for 5 minutes IF you're lucky... and they give you their best guess... and hope that it works... I LOVE going to my appts here because I know I'm being well cared for... This is the first time in my entire life that I have real hope of getting better... I have other health issues... and I know Frandzie is working to help me live a normal life... Not live a sick life... I wish I had gone to a Functional medicine practice sooner...
