I moved to Cambridge from California eight months ago, and one of the first things I did was meet with an interior designer about my home. One of her recs? That I get a Plant Stylist. Huh? Wait, what's a PLANT stylist? I literally never heard of such a thing. My only experience with "plant styling" prior to this was going to a plant store and purchasing plants and vessels myself (btw - vessels is a fancy name for pots, I learned this from the plant stylist). So I called and set up an hour long consultation with Marissa at Orly Khon, which was $250. That seemed a little crazy - again, I've never hired someone to help me with plants before, definitely not for $250 an hour - but the experience of walking from room to room with an expert who understands how plants live in different light environments and which plants would do well where - that was actually game changing. I wasn't really sure if I would actually hire them, but when I received the proposal I was so blown away by the attention to detail and the pain staking work and thought put into it, that I found myself shocked to agree to an expensive contract for plant styling (!!!!). 80 plants later, my home feels like a lush, verdant garden, and I am beyond thrilled with the work that they've done. Yes, it was extremely expensive. Yes, part of me feels a bit guilty about that. But the joy I get from seeing my beautiful plants every single day is more than worth it. The best wedding florist of all time! Orly and her team are absolutely incredible to work with, we could not recommend them highly enough. Not only were they such a pleasure, friendly and responsive but they captured the whole color palate and experience we were looking for so so perfectly. Every bride has their own thing. Flowers weren't as big ticket an item to me as say food, booze, or um, a photo booth. I was working within my budget and I allowed for $2,000 in flowers. I was able to have all the flowers I wanted or needed for less than that with Tangerine Creations. With that small budget I was able to get a beautiful bridal bouquet ($185.00), 5 bridesmaid bouquets ($85 each), 7 boutonnieres ($15.00 each), 1 beautiful place card display ($280.00), and some pieces for my ceremony ($65.00 each). (I attached photos to this review!) They weren't EXACTLY what I had anticipated (I expected more orchids in my bouquet) but they were beautiful -- the colors were dead on and absolutely gorgeous in photos. Orly the designer actually included 4 more FREE boutonnieres and 4 more corsages as well as small (very small) vases of flowers and flower petals for the head table. I hadn't actually purchased those items officially -- so I'm guessing that was all part of the package I bought with her -- little extras for the bride. I thought that was a nice touch, because I got to give the free boutonnieres and corsages to important family members. Also, I tried to keep the price down by making the bridesmaid bouquets the centerpieces for the head table. Orly charged me for vases rental for the ceremony ($85 total for all of them)-- but we did have a place to put the bridesmaid bouquets so that they weren't just laying on the tables and stuff -- and they made beautiful centerpieces. Another great tip was that we took the aisle decorations and moved them to the tent so that they would be all around during the reception :D Get creative to stretch your dollar even more :D I really liked working with her on my flowers and I would recommend her to other brides on a budget but want a colorful, whimsical wedding with a few floral pieces. They arrived on time to the site and were labeled with all of my bridesmaids names on them and the groomsmen too. Thought that was a nice touch. But don't take my word for it, let the photos speak for themselves! read more

So to say that I was pleasantly shocked that Orly accommodated my request when I called to ask for a Mother's Day arrangement at the last second is an understatement! Not only that, she had gone ahead as I'm sure exhausted and busy she must be, and delivered it herself early this morning, right on time!!! My wife was so impressed and touched! Our wedding was in October 2012 and even though this review is long overdue, I need to add my two cents about how terrific Tangerine is. We dealt with Martha, who was very knowledgeable and a delight to work with. She listened carefully and asked a lot of questions to get a good sense of the overall style and colors we wanted. When we saw the descriptions of the flowers in our proposal, we hoped that the flowers would look as nice as the descriptions (for example, "The arrangements will be airy, full and loose, with curly willow sticks, hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus, and other elegant flowers in tones of ivory, lavender and purple. We will add beautiful greens for an interesting color combination"). As it turned out, the flowers actually looked even MORE beautiful than the descriptions. Tangerine seems to have a creative capacity that we have seen nowhere else in terms of uniqueness and elegance. My bridal bouquet of purple calla lilies was stunning. The large pedestal pieces were amazing and truly enhanced the elegance of the reception space. The centerpieces were exquisite. We even noticed guests taking pictures of the flowers! Finally, the delivery and set-up went smoothly. Martha and her assistants were totally professional. read more

Orly at Tangerine Creations was FANTASTIC. We originally opted to go with Tangerine Creations because we wanted bright, bold, creative, and elegant floral arrangements that would really pop against our black bridesmaids dresses. We gave here a ton of creative license to do what she thought would look best and we were AMAZED by the result. All of the flowers were breathtaking and we got numerous compliments from our guests throughout the event and the following morning. This review is long overdue, but I'd like to formally thank Orly at Tangerine Creations for designing an absolutely BEAUTIFUL arrangement for our wedding in November 2014. Our wedding had a Hollywood theme, so while flowers were necessary, I didn't want to go way over the top since our location was ornate enough. We went through some pictures to get some ideas going, and Orly custom designed a bridal bouquet with deep red roses, calla lilies, and fiddleheads--it was the classiest bouquet I'd seen! Additionally, rather than going with a veil, we agreed that a magnolia would be perfect; my bridesmaids had lovely deep purple lilies to carry, my flower girl had the cutest headband; the groomsmen's boutonnieres, the pedestal pieces and escort card table arrangement were tied in so nicely! Her prices are very reasonable, as you are getting high quality designs and service. I would highly recommend Tangerine Creations to anyone in the future! read more
