Pretty frustrated with this business. Long story short, don't buy any Husqvarna products from Orofino Builders Supply. They say there is a warranty on the products, mine never filed and they also claim they offer warranty work, not true. I had a weed eater breakdown and took it in for repairs. They do not have anyone to repair Husqvarna. Their solution was to just trade out my old weed eater with a new one. It was a great idea, but when I went to use it, all the parts were not there. I contacted the store and the manger told me he would see what he could do. I never heard back from him and when I called he said the solution is to oder the missing part and they have no clue when it will arrive. I asked why he never called and was told he had planned to call when the part came. I am now 10 plus days without the ability to weed eat my property. There were no other solutions offered or thought about. Now I either wait or go buy from another company who can back a warranty or at least give me what I purchased without missing parts. I think the biggest thing that prompted this review was the disrespect I felt by being called "bud" and "buddy" by the manager. I am not a teenager and find that very degrading. I own a small business and do everything I can to make my clients happy, even if it means going the extra mile. Maybe that's not a TAL value? read more

We used to live in a very large city where we could buy ALL the things....but the customer service was lacking. Now, here we are in little Orofino, and I have been nothing but impressed with Builders Supply here. The owner is amazing and actually takes time to speak with customers. In fact, he helped us create a plan for a deck. Craig is a worker there who ALWAYS stops to say hi and let you feel welcomed. Other workers are also excellent. I've not had one single negative interaction there. We're in there all the time as we bought a fixer upper, and once in a great while they don't have what we need....in that case it's a run to a big box store in a nearby city...and we're never as pleased as when we shop with Builders Supply. Ron Berry construction local contractor. I have found the paint supply salesman extremely knowledgeable as he was a professional painter, but that is not why i m giving a review. Yesterday i had the store guy help take some stuff to my truck, and i told him just set the bag of caulking tubes down. Well in my haste i drove over the bag of caulk and went to my jobsite. Then realizing i was missing the bag i called the store. Indeed i had driven over the tubes ruining all of them and a hose clamp. I went back to the store and brought new tubes up to the counter and even when i was ready to pay for them they just credited them to me. This is beyond customer service and i thought it was so considerate of them. These guys really go out of their way to help folks out. read more

I've only been in the area for a few short weeks and I needed to get some lumber for my kids bunk bed. First guy I talked to was not very personable but helpful. He figured out what I needed and set up my order. Went out to have them cut my lumber to the size I needed and left them to their business. Went back into the main store to get additional supplies. Found what I needed and went to pay for the additional supplies... While paying the rather nice and polite man made a mistake and asked one of his coworkers for help and all his coworker did was berate him IN FRONT OF A CUSTOMER! Seriously. Went back out to grab my lumber and I see it was cut incorrectly and in insufficient quantity. Not only that, the guy who cut it refused to fix HIS error. It's this unfortunate kind of service in a small town that kills business for those who are new to the area... Looks like I'll be going to Lewiston if I need lumber again. If you live in Orofino and you need lumber, I suggest you make the hour detour to Lewiston to Home Depot, you'll get much better service and you'll have exactly what you ask for. read more

I am a local builder in Orofino. I wanted to give a shout out to Orofino building center and the design center. We all know how much fun it is to drive to Lewiston to get anything. Why look any further? They can supply everything you need. While bidding , I will check the HD website for comparison shopping. Most of the time OBC is the same price or cheeper. Why drive an hour for something, when you can get it right here. Also they can order items in a few days if not available. Also the Design center is a great asset to send customers to. Lots of items on display. Easy to work with. read more

We made a $2200 purchase on carpet. Received product with a hole in it, the installer had to cut it out. After install, oil stains appeared on the carpet. Several contacts with the sales folks were quite unhelpful, have mailed a letter to the company asking for help, and have received none, or any return contact. We had to resort to a professional disaster restoration firm to attempt stain removal, still not sure if there will be long term success. When we asked for warranty information, we were told three different brands on three different occassions. read more

I've done business with both the Orofino Building Supply, and Clearwater Builders Supply. I've always found the staff to be both knowledgeable and friendly. I feel the customer service of the local stores is far better than places like Home Depot. read more

I needed to place a large order and the salesman that assisted me was very helpful putting together my project. The price was what I was expecting so I was happy with my quote. I was nervous about delivery but everything was in order and the crew did an excellent job. Overall I am happy with my experience and would highly recommend Orofino Builders Supply. read more
