This review is for the X Ray department only. I know nothing about their in-patient or ER. I took my elderly friend here for a chest xray since she needs assistance. I personally would never go here because I have heard some terrible stories about this place ( go to Enloe). I took my friend in early ( no appointment needed..her doctor called in the order). It was surprisingly clean and not crowded. The building itself is dated and could use a good makeover. The big new glass building next to it ( which I thought I was driving her to) is still not open. After she signed in it was less than 15 minutes to get the chest xay. The techs were very friendly and professional! She had a good experience and we were in and out quickly! There was plenty of parking up front in the morning. I am grateful it was easy and not a long wait ( go early is the key). read more

It is the Dinges most antique hospital I've ever been in. It looks just like my elementary school some of which has been built in the 1960s but not an acute mid-century type of way. Zero charm, dank, dreary, and I would absolutely hate if I or anyone I cared about had to be there. The rooms were very, doll, dark. How I imagine the mental words of the mid-century probably looked and maybe this was one of them. The nurses were all nice. Never interacted with a doctor. The bitch who writes out the stickers for the name tags when you enter, look me up and down, frowned the whole time, and I was trying to counteract your negativity and cuntfactor with smiles and I laughed at one point because someone was down there making absolutely bizarre noises come on and you couldn't get even the slightest mark from this total bitch. Someone really screwed up making her the person people see first. read more

You'd be better of dying than coming to this shithole of a place they call a hospital, I had to be picked up by ambulance and brought because I was having spasms and my hands locked up was extremely nauseas and had numbness and tingles sensations going from my toes to my head and thru my hands and they wanted to throw me out and not allow me to lay down or get me back to run a EKG... told me to be quiet when I was saying I needed help. Went to er for diverticulitis. I have had it at least 8 times so I know. They did Catscan, admitted me. The next morning Dr come in and says nothing wrong. Discharged. Next day a wonderful Dr Vang called and put me on antibiotics. I knew I was infected. It was gone in 10 days. I should have been kept in hospital. They overlooked my infection. I was in severe pain. They tried to give me a pain med that I am allergic to. I refused it and tried to get something else the whole night with nothing but we can't get ahold of Dr. I am very thankful for the telemed call with Dr Vang. He was very kind and caring. Horrible urgent care medical team, I was in horrendous pain for over 7 hours straight, waited for a room for a little over five hours, and had no doctor check on me or see me for the two hours I stayed, let alone give me any medication for my extreme pain, the room they put me in was FILTHY with scraps of junk and paper all over the floor, the sheet they gave me was dirty, and there was a few small bugs I saw flying/crawling around. The staff kept taking in newer patients without communicating what was going on or where I was in the queue, and one nurse kept saying "The doctor will be here in 5 minutes" and he never showed up after I asked 5 different times over the span of two hours. As I was leaving an INCREDIBLY snotty lady at the front desk rudely told me that "there are more critical cases in front of you" when I know for a fact that was a lie, as a police officer had just brought a man in handcuffs into the back to get his blood drawn, tested, and got sent into a room immediately while I was actively writhing in pain with no medicine for it whatsoever. Mind you, the man that was cuffed was actively laughing, hooting, hollering, and obviously not in any pain, but he gets treatment first??? -100/10 facility, this isn't my first horrendous experience with this hospital, but it will be my last, never coming here again. read more

This hospital is a mess. My wife and I have come here for treatment a few times and every single time it's a shit show. This time around, they openly admitted to forgetting about her TWO SEPARATE TIMES. How is that a good quality of care? The ER isn't busy so I don't even understand how that's possible. Absolutely the worse place I have ever worked with management. The ER nurses, PAs and Doctors are highly skilled, compassionate, and qualified; it's just the lack of resources, as that begins with their management in the ER. Julie, Tammy, and Dave is what makes their ER nurse, turnover rate so high which is due to their poor morale, lack of involvement on the floor, and most importantly their absolute incompetence. ER management is staffed with nepotism, small-town, small-minded mentality; and that ER will never grow to its full potential until all three of them are gone. read more

Update: The MRI facility called my hospital and had them re-fax the records, so that finally got straightened out. Maybe this is a common occurrence, to have such poor communication between medical facilities, but it's very upsetting. Also, I have yet to get a call back from my doctor with results from the MRI, so now I get to spend the weekend wondering if I've got a serious condition or not. Sigh. So I don't have any complaints about the medical care I received so far, but the medical records-keeping there is abominable. I had blood work done at my local hospital in late January. I recently had major surgery and traveled almost 2 hours to this small town to Oroville hospital where the surgeon was. We have 2 much bigger hospitals in my town where I've had many stays and surgeries including the birth of my 2 daughters. But I can honestly say that I've never in my life had a better experience than at this hospital. Surgeon was beyond knowledgeable and I had no pain. The staff was AMAZING. The nurses and cna's were professional and so compassionate and caring. As soon as you pushed your call button, in they came at the drop of a hat. At one point a kind nurse felt awful that all I could eat was jello and they served me lime jello which I hate. She went to the cafeteria searching for another color of jello. She returned with 3 of them and told me to save them for later. Also the most comfortable hospital bed I've ever had to sleep on. I can say enough about this hospital and the way they made my experience there so easy and yes dare I say it, almost quite enjoyable. Well done. I had a kidney stone before and Oroville was not doing anything about it so I went to chico and they had me in surgery the next day and they was shocked to here what Oroville was doing to me. I came in a few times this past month. I believe the staff here is unhappy with their jobs. I stood at the nurses station for 10 minutes and nobody wanted to help. Patients call lights are lit up like a switchboard and you see some long hair guy acting like he is working but walking back and forth. Unit 1 needs a wake up call!! read more

This visit to just pick up equipment for home collection should have been easy. The super rude girl at the desk told me no one could get me the containers cause they were seeing patients, and i needed to wait. I did wait. Almost an hour. Then i politely asked if i could get the equipment and she bared her teeth and said i told you there were patients before you. I said all i needed was a kit to take home, not a blood draw or anything else. She acted like a spoiled child. Said "if i wanted someone nice, i had to be nice.". All i did was ask. The PA at the Urgent Clinic at Doves is a joke he told me he couldn't order lab work because he wasn't my primary doctor and didn't want to be responsible for calling me with results. This was after telling him I had blacked out and just wanted to make sure I wasn't low on something. He proceeded to say no further test could be ordered or done there. Very unprofessional so i ended up leaving. What kinda physician is afraid to order any test for patients just because if something is wrong don't want to be responsible for letting patient know. It's amazing how I ended up in this hospital! It was supposed to be a vacation that ended up in a 5day stay at the hospital! We were visiting my sister-in-law who lives in Gerber, 1 hr drive from Oroville. Unfortunately, they had to rush me to the ER due to blood loss and I was suffering from Anemia. The first hospital didn't do anything except for giving me an IV and anti-nausea medicine. They sent me home. The next day I was in agonizing pain! My sister in law has a friend Cherith Taylor that works there! She's truly God sent!! She helped us out and guided us what to do and how to care for me. Even though she's an hour away, my husband and I with my sister in law decided to go to their hospital, the Oroville Hospital. It's so worth the hour drive and the 4hr wait at the ER waiting room! The ER doctor was so knowledgeable, he ordered all the tests for me. I sadly didn't get his name but he's young and an excellent doctor! I ended up having a surgery as they found polyps that's causing the bleeding. I had the endometrial ablation. Dr. Matthew Bazzani did the surgery and did such a wonderful job!! He's an expert! He explained everything and was very kind and considerate. Dr. Mee Yang is the best!! I know she's very busy attending to many patients but she always came with a smile and listened to me and explained to me what I need to know. Both of these doctors are amazing and at the top of their game! Very loving, professional and passionate! The staff are so wonderful as well! The CNAs, PTs and the Nurses are all kind and caring. I know they can't be there right away when you need them due to so many patients they have to attend to. But they took care of me so well. Even Odette the PT, helped me walk around and helped me clean up. I know for some it's nothing, but for sick people, it means the world! Overall if I can give this hospital 100 stars I WILL!! We patients (and families) need to be considerate and understanding of them as their jobs are not easy. They provide health care to us so we need to be kind and respectful. They are under appreciated and it breaks my heart. I'm now back in Las Vegas recovering from my surgery and I can not thank all of them enough for a job well done! Top-notch doctors and staff! I would give this place a -10 star review my Dad who is in his 70's went in because he thought he may have kidney stones and is in a lot of pain went to ER because he was sent there from urgent care, he was in the waiting room for 4 hours when they finally brought him back into a room did ultrasound and some bloodwork did NOT give him any pain medication and he sat in the room for 4 more hours before he decided to just leave because no one was helping him nor checked on him, still in pain which has now gotten worse can't even drive. Hip surgery the care I received was nonextstant. I laid in bloody sheets for three days, was not even offered a wash cloth to wash my face. Housekeeping needs serious attention, came in moped one side of the bed put my pillows on a bio-hazard bin and left. The food well I'll just say I did not eat it. The only thing good to say about Death Valley hospital was the two male nurses AAA+ care. I am a 85 year old women and release papers listed me as a 84 year male. I could go on but doing so won't solve anything as long as the same ole administer who run this pig sty changes or a new administer takes over. read more

My son went into the ER for a potential head injury and wasn't even given the results of his CT scan. he sat for hours until he finally left still without CT results. They had the nerve to bill us for almost the entire bill. The worst care I have ever seen. I would drive as far as I could to not go to that hospital. All they want is the money and to give poor care. I wasn't with him so not able to help out. I previously worked at a major city ER as a nurse and we would never have gotten away with such poor care. Alright. My latest "experience" -- was lacking. If this hospital were an old man, it couldn't get it's game up for all the Viagra in the whole wide world. Like.... Wow. So much wow. Lol. Anyways; let's get to it, now. : So, uh.... :/ .... I went there for my last month of pregnancy. Obviously as a last resort. Obviously because I DIDN'T have transportation. I had AMAZING health care at Feather River Adventist Health Care in Paradise. Dr. Caruso demonstrated excellent competence. I was treated well, with respect and the utmost COMPETENCE. It was pretty great. But, alas, I had to RESORT TO ...*ahem*... Oroville hospital. Due to lack of transportation. Nonetheless; I was treated worse than a street whore. The staff there were so ugly to me; meaning: MEAN & DISRESPECTFUL. Examples: Being threatened there by the hospital admin & a social worker to call CPS on me because I seemed "mentally disorganized". Well, gee-whiz: They screwed up my meds two days in a row. I'm bipolar, I must confess. I only take TWO Yes people, TWO meds. Zoloft (bipolar) & Clonidine (high blood pressure). They BOTH: Didn't give me my meds and when they did they gave them to me at the opposite time of day that it was prescribed to be taken. Then I was judged as being Looney. Also; I had an emergency C-section. They tried to give me Norco 10's. I said no. Then percaset.. I declined. Still take neither. Cheers to my health. read more

My brother in law went for routine blood work and they couldn't find a vein on his right arm so they tried his left arm and poked him three times and he was blue and purple with a huge bruise by the end of the day! 5 days later he still has a huge bruise and you can tell where they tried to make him on the first arm! read more

This ER is the WORST! When my son got hit by a car last year, we sat in the waiting for 6 hours!! He wasnt allowed anything! Not even tylenol. The waiting room is full of druggies looking for their next fix! It's a bunch of bs! Not to mention, but I've been misdiagnosed more than once. AND.. my doctor tells me that one of my tests was fine. Nope. It wasn't. Nor did he tell me that I needed to be rechecked in 6 mos. He probably didnt even read the report. At one of my doc appts, my surgeon in Roseville sent his notes up to Oroville Hospital. When I asked 2 girls in the doctors office if it was there, one didnt look, the other said it wasnt. After calling medical records, I found out it was in fact in my file. She found it in less than 30 seconds. Why couldn't the girls in the office find it? Not that hard. read more

If I could give this place a minus I would. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The shit show of nurses, Drs and discharge team is beyond unprofessional. My sister was called today my Monica. Monica told her my mom was being released today. (News to us). My mom had been diagnosed with pnemonia in Thursday and the Dr said probably 5 days until she can come home. And she would be on hospice. So, my mom shows up in a non medical transportation van, there is no bed, no oxygen or wheelchair at my sister's home. They sat out in the driveway for 1 hour. My mom has to have oxygen so being without oxygen and leaving her at the house was not an option. If that isn't a form of elderly abuse I don't know what it. They then took my mom back to the hospital because the nurse Monica hadn't done her job. Monica blamed my sister and told her it was up to her to take care of it all. Monica isn't the only incompetent nurse. There was one named Jen who yelled at me because she was frustrated and told me my mom wasn't her only patient. I said to this Jen, she may not be her only patient, but she is my only mom. No family or patient should EVER go through this. We pray my mom makes it through the night so she doesn't die alone at this hospital. If you can, go elsewhere. I have never experienced such inhumane treatment to a patient or family. read more

I couldn't have been happier with the care I received at Oroville hospital. Over the past month, I've had 2 procedures in the operating room and one in the endoscopy clinic. Each time, I was met by kind and compassionate staff that were fully dedicated to my well being and ensuring that my medical needs were taken care of in a timely way, from registration through discharge. Was particularly impressed with the operating room staff who clearly take pride in their craft and run a clean, well functioning operation. On the physician side, Dr Skau (General Surgery), Dr Osifo (anesthesiologist) and Dr Dalal (GI) were each did outstanding work and went above and left me with an excellent outcome. Yes, some of the facilities are old and in need of upgrade, but that is what the new hospital tower is for! We are very fortunate to have such a strong team of caring healthcare professionals serving our community. read more

Had an ultrasound and mammogram at Oroville women's imaging clinic. From the time I was met at the door and my temperature was taken to being walked out the door by a staff member. I was treated with professionalism and kindness by Sue, Carol and Fred the radiologist. They were so helpful and informative. They made me comfortable and decreased my stress. Thank you! read more

I recently had a three day stay at this hospital because I was unfortunate enough to have gotten food poisoning. I must admit how pleasantly surprised I was by the excellent care of all the staff. All except the lady who did the triage. She was so rude to myself and my family, and spoke in a condescending tone. I was in an excruciating amount of pain and this woman was cold and Unempathetic. For someone who is ill and to have this type of person to greet them is dreadful. Fortunately for this hospital, once you get beyond this woman, the staff and doctors are all very sweet people. read more
