I haven't been to Ort in two years, but it's so different that it might has well have been ten years. Am I crazy, or did they change everything?! In the best way though. The farm store is gorgeous and brand new with an amazing selection of snacks, sweets, produce and local goodies. They even had so many fun farm themed toys for the kiddos. Plus a full fledged ice cream shop! That strawberry cheesecake ice cream was pure perfection. Strawberry picking was the main reason for our visit, but there was so much else to check out for my kids like animals, a playground area, a big toy train, a cow train ride and more. There are also food trucks that have the basics like chicken fingers and fries, and the fresh squeezed lemonade is a can't miss. Strawberry picking is a must, and they have an expansive field with so many perfectly ripe strawberries. It's around a five minute tractor ride out to the fields, but the tractors come often and it's a cute experience for the kids. IMO the tractor experience is way better than Alstede, where it's a long wait and a long ride. Strawberry picking will run you $10 per person, plus a dollar upgrade for a bucket vs a carton. And then of course pay for what you pick. I forget what the price per pound is, but we walked away with a massive bucket of strawberries for around 15 bucks. This is a fun place to visit and they keep the calendar full with events like beer fests, car shows, etc. Definitely worth a visit!

I found out about Ort Farms from a billboard I saw driving down 17. I wanted to find a farm that had a pumpkin patch but still had apple picking, and Ort Farms had both - so it was perfect! It was about an hour drive from me, so it wasn't too bad. We came on the last Sunday of September, so the pumpkin patch and hayrides were already open (I believe they open mid-September) but they still had some late varieties of apples. They had some veggies available for picking too - tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. You just need to purchase a bag and you can use it for both. Admission was about $15 per adult, which you have to purchase online. Kids 3 and under are free. We did the 9:30 time slot but didn't get there until 10, which didn't seem to be an issue. It's definitely best to go early so you can avoid as much of the crowd as possible. We spent almost three hours there and it was crowded by the time we left. The good thing about going in September is that most people don't want to go until October, so you get to avoid that mess. But the bad thing is that it's still probably really hot and if you're picking fruits/veggies in hot weather, it's not the most fun. By the time we were done picking apples and veggies, we were all hot and tired by the time we got to the pumpkin patch. So I'd suggest doing all of your photo ops at the pumpkin patch first and then doing all the manual labor. They have a few food trucks in one area and the apple cider slush was nice and refreshing after picking fruit. They also have a farm store with your usual suspects - pies, apple cider donuts, pre-made salads/sandwiches, etc., but we didn't buy anything. I think I found our new go-to farm. It's nice that you can kill two birds with one stone. I saw they have U-cut Christmas trees in December so I'm interested to see if they're doing any Christmas events - I wouldn't mind making the drive back.

Pleasant experience. Ample of parking space. A good place for the family. Their applepies tastes good. They have icecream.

It's been 8 long years since our last visit, and I'm so happy we got to share my son's first apple picking experience here on Ort Farms. We brought his godfather along, since he was also with us 8 years ago. We had such a wonderful fun time here, and we'll be back before the end of the season for sure! We paid $63 in total for 3 adults, including in that price $24 for two 1/2 peck bags to fill for apple picking. Honestly, not too terrible, and we didn't reserve a time slot online - we just showed up and were taken right away at 11:30AM when we arrived. The parking was still plentiful at this time, so plan accordingly! We did the petting of the farm animals and showed my son the horses, bunnies, cows, a bull, pigs, and more. You can purchase food in addition to feed the animals, but my son was still too shy to try this. The staff was very friendly and everyone had big, bright smiles for us. The farm has a good amount of large picnic tables, so you can bring your family and friends and really make a whole day out of it. There's food trucks to purchase from, and we got chicken tenders and fries for my son ($14) and they had pickles on a stick and other food options! We were happy with the quality of the food and the portions. The apple orchard was a great highlight. I was especially touched when a staff member asked to take a family photo of us, which I hadn't yet been able to achieve. It was so nice to have something so simple be offered and my son smiled for the camera! A wonderful memory! Another wonderful memory was watching my son run up and down the aisles of apple trees all begging to be picked. There was PLENTY of apples to pick - honeycrisp, cortland, and gala - were all hanging in toddler reach and all the way to the tippy tops of the trees; just gorgeous. The apples are marked clearly with red and green flags so you know exactly what you can and cannot pick. The 1/2 peck bag fit about 12 apples, so it's like paying $1 per apple. They were juicy and crisp! Make sure you stop at the farmer's market before you leave to get your apple cider and apple cider donuts! In the words of my son, "More farm"!

Cute place to bring kids around the fall time! They had an organized line to get in. They have a monster truck area, apple picking, pumpkin picking, flower fields and flower picking, lots of local food and beer pop ups, and many baked goodies in their shop. They even had gluten free apple cinnamon donuts as well as cookies and brookies! There's also a crazy corn maze if you're up for it!

Went to Ort Farms for some fall fun with my family and enjoyed my experience! This farm is dog friendly, with the exception of the hay ride and apple orchard, which was fine by me. There were plenty of activities, such as the pumpkin patch and seeing the farm animals. There were lots of good eats - apple cider slushy and donuts included! The staff was nice and knowledgeable. I would recommend better signage for lines (especially for those purchasing tickets vs. those who prepaid). Overall, it was a lovely time. I'd love to come back for more goodies!

We went for pumpkin and apple picking during Columbus Day!! We were grateful that they are open with all the sun activities that they usually have on the weekend!!! It was such a fun experience for our family!! We didn't expect that they grow their own pumpkin!! So if you are looking for giant pumpkin, better bring your own scissor!! Most of the tiny small one are gone, but they do have lots of big ones.. they do have some apple trees, but unfortunately most of them are already picked (or dropped on the ground) but you can borrow a picking stick to reach to the top of the tree.. it could be fun for older kids.. but if you want to go for apple picking you might have to go in September instead of October!! As for the food truck!! Their apple cider slushy is awesome!!! It's sooo good!!! Donut in my opinion is ok... the grilled corn is so good too!!! (This is all from one food truck) they also have other food truck like cheese steak, hamburger, hot dogs, etc!! We bought our ticket online, but the line for those who has ticket is longer than those who didn't get ticket.. kinda funny!! Everyone who works there are very nice and helpful!! Would definitely go back!!

We knew we were too late for apple picking. So we picked somewhere with pumpkins also. They actually grow their own pumpkins. There was only a little bit of apple left. The farm is not overwhelming big but has enough to keep everyone happy. There's plenty to do for the kids. We love their apple cider slushy. The roasted corn was so sweet. We bought some apple cider donuts, they were pretty good but we prefer the ones from cider mills. Overall, we had a wonderful time there.

Had a wonderful experience at Ort Farm with my dog, friends, and their dogs. We came during Halloween weekend and it was cute seeing other dogs costume. We got to pick out some pumpkins, we weren't able to pick out apples since they were cleaned up for this weekend. The apple cider I purchased tasted so good and fresh! I also purchased a strawberry roll cake and personally was not a fan of it. It was a bit too sweet for my liking and tasted like they used cupcake icing instead of cream. I also purchased apple butter and might try to make a quick and easy small apple pie pocket utilizing it. They had pony rides and farm animals you can check out and feed. I came pretty late, when I checked out the farm animals, they were all pretty full already. There were carrots surrounding the horses and goat and they were done eating for that day but I see that the kids still kept trying to feed and approach the animals, so if you want to give the kids that experience, come earlier when they aren't fed yet. I would also like to advice if you bring your dog, to put booties on them. There were a bunch of these small pointy balls on the ground that would randomly get stuck on my dogs fur (poodle mix) and taking them out of her was difficult since it got blend in with her fur. It was also a bit painful removing them. Overall a great experience!

I visited Ort Farms for the first time last year and had a great time but unfortunately this year when I returned I was left disappointed. From the parking lot, the path leads you to the ticket area to buy tickets for the PYO apples and corn maze as well as the market. Across the street there are the animals along with some food trucks and activities like pony rides, a children's cow train and the apple cannon which is what brought us to the farm. Last year you had to pay an admission fee to pick apples and do the corn maze but all other activities were separate and pay as you go so we were apple to access the apple cannon easily to only do that. This year however after we already paid $10 to do the just the apple cannon we were told we needed to also get a wrist band to even enter the area which was $13/person so we decided not to do it and got a refund. We did not want to pay almost $40 for two people to just do the apple cannon! We were frustrated because no one told us that before we bought the apple cannon tickets and it's a steep price for admission when you also have to pay to do the apple cannon. We do enjoy the ambiance and feeding the farm animals but unfortunately we probably won't return now

Honestly, we were lured in by the promise of their baked goods, not necessarily their activities. The blueberry doughnuts were an interesting change from the usual apple cider doughnuts I see and get. They were tasty, a tad bit dry but with a nice blueberry flavor. We also got a strawberry pie, blackberry pie, and a mini cherry pie. The cherry pie was fantastic, perfectly tart, and by far my favorite. The strawberry pie, on the other hand, was way too syrupy sweet, so I wasn't a fan. I'm not a big blackberry fan, but my friend loved this one the most. I regret that I didn't get any of their bread loaves. They had some interesting flavors like a bacon, egg, and cheese loaf, plus a few other yummy-sounding savory versions. There was also a blueberry lemonade slushee machine, and I'm kicking myself for not getting a cup to try. As for the non-food elements, we mainly saw a bunch of kid-friendly activities, so I'm not sure if child-free adults would have as much fun here, but it's worth stopping by!

We enjoyed the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and back to the apple orchard. We got to pick some apples, enjoyed the live music and shopped at farmstand. I bought a dahlia flower bouquet for $30 and beehive honey butter scented candle for $17.50. We also bought some food at the farm but it was a bit pricey. The chicken burger ($10) was good but I didn't like that was a little charred and it was small. My husband liked the bratwurst and apple cider sauerkraut ($10.50) but he also thought the bratwurst was small. I think they should let people know that you can pick the zinnias flowers ($1 per stem) as well. I didn't know that until we were leaving so I rushed back and picked some. Overall, we had fun.

We went on a Tuesday morning, and from the moment we pulled in, it was a great experience. When you arrive, they ask how many bags you want, give you big plastic bags, and then you're off to pick your own produce. We decided to pick collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and a few peppers. Some items were out of season, so we bought those inside the market instead. Inside, we grabbed garlic, tomatoes, scallions, apples, onions, and a bottle of peach cider which I highly recommend! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The workers were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You can drive around the farm, park your car to the side, and pick whatever you need. When you're done, you stop at the booth, unload your items to be weighed, and pay there. They accept both cash and all major credit cards. A few tips: wear old clothes and shoes, and definitely don't get your car washed before going because everything gets dusty! I also saw a few people using scissors or knives to cut their vegetables, which is a smart idea, though we picked ours by hand. After getting home, cleaning everything, and cooking up the greens for dinner, I have to say they were the best greens I've ever had in my life. Farm-to-table food truly hits different. The prices were very fair and much cheaper than the supermarket & the quality was unbeatable. I highly recommend visiting this farm for some fresh, nutritious produce to feed your family.

It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.
