I learned the hard way coming back from the Poconos that NJ farms don't really offer wine and cider like upstate NY farms do. But we were driving through NJ and had the autumn feels, so we stopped by here to get our fix. What they lacked in wine, they made up for with other fun experiences--and honestly, I had a much better time here sans alcohol than I did last year at the dreadful Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm. Things Donaldson Farms has: apple picking, berry picking (or some other fruit), pony and horse, hay rides, pop-up grill restaurant, axe-throwing, blankets for sale, kettlecorn, and a nice, spacious farm market with fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy, frozen treats, pasta, and baked goods. The apple cider donuts weren't in season yet when we went, but they should be out soon. The best part of the experience is probably that there is no charge to visit, and you pay for what you pick, with a small fee for the apple bag ($0.75) or the berry carton ($0.25). I picked berries, so I don't know what the apples cost, but my full carton only cost about $5.

Lunch was fabulous, the hosts were incredible and the sip and solve event was so fun!

Always having a family friendly event. We recently did the U-Pick raspberries. They had multiple vendors on site for a craft fair. While we picked our raspberries we were able to sample some of the local breweries newest beers. The kids like the new play set the farm has installed. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. It can be very crowded during the fall for the festivals they host. They have plenty of parking and the best sweet corn around.

Beautiful farm. They let you walk around and take pictures and enjoy the property. They have a lot of events and send out a weekly email with the events listed on the email. In the fall the sunflowers are beautiful. They have a produce stand. They are very accommodating and I have bough bulk plum tomatoes here for making fresh sauce. They were great and picked early in the morning. If you are in the area be sure to check it out and support a local farmer.

Their strawberry fields are amazing! It's a must visit for fresh and sweet strawberries! For pick your own I would advise to take your own basket, they sell some too but they dont allow plastic bags (kudos)! They have open playing space for kids and some baby goats in cages as well!

We went out of our way to visit this farm because one of the reviewers mentioned that their fruit is certified organic, which unfortunately isn't true. The prices of their pick your own fruits are $7.59 lb for berries, apples are $2.49 lb and Honey Crisp apples $3.99 lb. We asked if they were organic and were told NOT. For this price, you can purchase organic fruits at the supermarket. Will not be back here!

Awesome spot to bring your family for apple picking, pumpkins, raspberries or even to see some sun flowers! The farm is family run and everyone is super friendly and helpful! They offer many tours and will explain how farming works, very fun for the kids. The pricing is extremely decent as well compared to surrounding farms and competitors in the area. There is also a farmers market that offers all home made items directly from the farm making it easy to support your local farmers and get amazing fresh food. The various activities and pricing makes this place the perfect spot for your family, everyone is able to enjoy and have a great time without dipping to far into your wallet!

Much better than the high volume farms many from the city go to. A gem! Avoid the farms of exit 19

It's usually not fresh tasting and the flavors don't explode with fruits like you would expect from a farm stand.

It was such a beautiful night, my parents and I came and we each got our own pizza. Pizza came out in maybe 15 minutes, we sat and waited and just chilled. It was a beautiful night. I am so appreciative that Windy Brow has a vegan cheese option, so I could be included! I got the Margherita pizza and subbed vegan cheese. The crust and dough were incredible - so fluffy, perfectly crispy, amazing thick crust. The vegan cheese was also great, and the sauce too. Just a perfect pizza. My dad got a regular Margherita and loved it, and my mom got the fungi pizza with mushrooms and was raving about it. My boyfriend got the pig and fig and (of course) loved it as well. We all raved to each other about how amazing everything was. For a farm to do something like this when they don't need to, shows that they love what they do! You can really feel the love in the pizza. We then got ice cream after since the ice cream stand was still open. I got the vegan dark chocolate sea salt (literally incredible, perfect consistency, I love hard ice cream so this was amazing), my boyfriend got Madagascar vanilla and said it was a perfect classic vanilla, my dad said the cherry vanilla was the best he's ever had, and my mom who doesn't love ice cream got the lemon blueberry butter cake and was raving about it. Phenomenal job!!!!! So appreciative to live near a spot like this. Blessings!

I wanted to find a farm that…read morehad a pumpkin patch but still had apple picking, and Ort Farms had both - so it was perfect! It was about an hour drive from me, so it wasn't too bad. We came on the last Sunday of September, so the pumpkin patch and hayrides were already open (I believe they open mid-September) but they still had some late varieties of apples. They had some veggies available for picking too - tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. You just need to purchase a bag and you can use it for both. Admission was about $15 per adult, which you have to purchase online. Kids 3 and under are free. We did the 9:30 time slot but didn't get there until 10, which didn't seem to be an issue. It's definitely best to go early so you can avoid as much of the crowd as possible. We spent almost three hours there and it was crowded by the time we left. The good thing about going in September is that most people don't want to go until October, so you get to avoid that mess. But the bad thing is that it's still probably really hot and if you're picking fruits/veggies in hot weather, it's not the most fun. By the time we were done picking apples and veggies, we were all hot and tired by the time we got to the pumpkin patch. So I'd suggest doing all of your photo ops at the pumpkin patch first and then doing all the manual labor. They have a few food trucks in one area and the apple cider slush was nice and refreshing after picking fruit. They also have a farm store with your usual suspects - pies, apple cider donuts, pre-made salads/sandwiches, etc., but we didn't buy anything. I think I found our new go-to farm. It's nice that you can kill two birds with one stone. I saw they have U-cut Christmas trees in December so I'm interested to see if they're doing any Christmas events - I wouldn't mind making the drive back.
