The results under her guidance are far superior to other PT experiences I've had. After total knee replacement, Monique, and as well Mr. Ho, encouraged and marshaled the enormous confidence and motivation required to get off the walker and cane. In only four weeks they added 70 degrees range of motion to the knee, which led to crucial cancellation of an imminent second operation to remove scar tissue. His super knowledgable and does not recommend unnecessary tests, surgery, meds, etc. He will even go so far as to recommend physical therapy before advising on injections, surgery, etc. He also asks what you prefer and gives the options/possible outcomes with those options. He listens and gives his professional medical option after he hears what's going on with you. He also performed a rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. I always waited for between 30 and 90 minutes from my appointment time before being seen by him, and when he finally did come by the exam room I was waiting in, our interaction never lasted more than 5 minutes. I wouldn't go so far as to say that he seemed disinterested in treating me, but he certainly seemed rushed. The billing was generally confusing, and during one appointment I was charged an additional $200 to compensate for errors and omissions in the previous bills. At no point was I given any indication of how much various procedures or equipment would cost me out of pocket, and I had to go out of my way (requesting printouts of itemized bills) to even figure out what I was being charge for.

I was sent to get x-rays that only after 7 months, and several physical therapy sessions not treating the problem, did Dr. Kessous return my calls. While in the office for my one visit, I was billed $180 for night splints that were the wrong size, I do not use, and they would not accept a return (these can be purchased for $20-30 at your local pharmcy). I was also sold $45 off-the-shelf orthotics that actually worsened my plantar fascistis. I should also note that the x-rays were a separate bill ($70 out of pocket). Because I had not had any results from the x-rays or word from the doctor on either my bill or my physical therapy, I cancelled a follow-up appointment for which I was then billed another $40. The billing office was terrible and unresponsive but finally (8 months later) credited me those last $40. In the end, I received better advice and more attentive service from the salespeople at my local running store.
