My brother and I recently did an Autumn colors trip. Went to New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. On our way back from Maine, we stayed the night in Manchester, VT. Following day, we stopped into this Orvis "outlet" store. Outlet in quotes bc...yeah, not sure what prices are at a regular Orvis store, but prices here...are as you'd expect them to be. Not...outlet store prices lol. Does that take away from the fact that this store is FN INCREDIBLE?!? Not even close. Inside is like a warm cabin or ski lodge. It's so beautiful inside. The layout...perfect. Has an upstairs and downstairs. They have every kind of outdoor clothing you can imagine. Only think I bought tho....a pair of amazing wooly hiking socks haha! And a bag of organic treats for my dogs. OH! There's a sign outside that says all dogs are welcome. I'm telling you, even if I'm like iffy on a store, have mixed feelings or whatever...IF they are nice to dogs and welcome them and even have treats set out for them...to sample haha! The store will almost always get 5 stars from me. When stores like this recognize dogs as our legit family...how can anyone say anything bad about them? The staff was so friendly with my little Alfred too. He's very tiny. 6ish lbs. Made us happy to see a couple of golden retrievers in there at the same time. Dogs are family through and through. Alfred is my child. I don't have human kids. My dogs are my kids. Alfred is my heart and soul. So it truly makes me beyond happy to see stores like this basically encourage you to bring your dogs in. He loves the organic treats too. I probably should have gotten a few bags, but just in case he decided he didn't like them...yorkies can be super picky and weird with their food and treats lol...that's why I just got the one. The prices. Ok so they may be a little steep on most things. However, they have tons of stuff on sale. Good sale prices too for people looking for a deal. Oh! They have a section for dogs too. Clothes, beds, leash's, harnesses, etc. I'm so glad we stopped in here. I love stores like this back east. It has such that "east coast" feeling to it too. Manchester had a lot of skiing in the area. This is a great place to find some gear for that. You seriously can't go wrong here. Even if it's targeted to us tourists lol, I just know a lot of locals go here. Employees are SO friendly too! So welcoming. It's so weird to go to stores these days where employees are so nice bc as we all know...shopping in like 90% of retail stores these days hire ... *this* generation and most of them don't even make eye contact or say hello. So going to stores where they legit welcome you in from the second you walk in...very refreshing. Then checking out, the guy and I had a little conversation about paying our credit card bill haha! Basically, it's cool to have employees at stores that aren't dead in the eyes lol or absolutely robotic. Whoever does the hiring here knows exactly what they are doing. I don't think I ran into any miserable retail employees while in Manchester. Such a delightful little city. If you're in the area, ABSOLUTELY go here. If for anything, just to look around. We love the Orvis outlet, just a short drive from the flagship store. It showcases discounted Orvis clothing of all types along with an assortment of other products like fishing gear, jewelry, Vermont maple syrups, things for dogs, etc. We especially enjoy the off-season sales. Last month, for instance we found some really great deals on sweaters ($189 wool sweaters discounted to $74) and shirts. It's not a particularly large store (two levels), but it has a good assortment of clothing for men and women, and bear in mind that because it is an outlet not all sizes in everything will be available. The staff is very courteous and know the stock well. Looking back we have to say that we have never left a visit here without at least a couple of purchases. If you're in the area, do check out the flagship store, but don't forget to come by here as well. We are fans. read more

We are traveling from Pennsylvania to do some fly fishing, and we were excited to make the stop at the Orvis stores. The employees at the outlet were amazing. Visited while passing through Manchester, VT ... there were no real bargains to be had. Orvis isn't for the light walleted to begin with but unless you wanted to buy summery short sleeve button-ups in December for 50-60% retail prices, it's basically still pretty overpriced. The men's section is much larger than the ladies' and basically, its all clothing. Don't expect deals on rods, etc. The shoes were upstairs and I was pleased to find 4 pairs of Le Chameau boots which were obviously customer returns. However, the price of the boots in the outlet were higher than if you bought the boots brand new on Le Chameau's site with their current promotion. Most of the Orvis stuff was way out of season, uglier colors which probably didn't sell well and a couple of current season things at 20% off retail prices, which you could find on their website or a regular store for similar price by using a promo or sale. Again ... nothing special. We saw a Pendleton blanket we loved but again ... it was clearly removed from the package and was only 5% discounted than if you bought it brand new off Pendleton's website. I'd skip by this store unless you really love Orvis, or don't mind buying odds and ends from a psst season. I love outlet shopping but this was dissapointing. The staff was friendly and helpful ... maybe a touch overbearing. I wouldn't return. read more

This store is down the street from the flagship store and factory. We found so many cool things here. Don't forget to go upstairs for great deals. We will be back read more

Orvis is the capitol of fly-fishing. They have nearly an entire floor devoted to fly fishing lures. Floor 2 is devoted entirely to women's clothing and outdoor gear. Not to mention famous peanut brittle and Vermont maple syrup. There are maps of the back country, lakes and water regions where the best fishing can be found. Hand carved canoes imported from Canada dominate the store. Sales persons are friendly, knowing, and exceedingly helpful. There is a beautiful pool in back stocked with fresh trout which we watched for a while--restful and zen. Very Eastern, really. Such a wonderful store. We will be happy to be added to their catalogue list. read more

This used to be The Jelly Mill but it's closed down- disappointment. Despite this Orivis outlet, the prices are still high. We have an outlet in Norwalk Ct & the discounts offer a way less exspensive option than this retail spot. But they do offer a solid variety of pet beds etc. it's nicely done inside too. read more

I just purchased a cute toy moose for my dog and a pair of Khaki's. All for under $30.00, amazing. They had a 30% off sale. I needed help and quickly a found a nice salesman to help try to track down an additional item. While I was being helped a women came up to the counter and found a wallet that belonged to someone. Sales associate immediately phoned another dept. to report it.While exiting store I passed the women who lost her wallet. It was very cool to hear her say "Only at Orvis" would someone be this kind. We don't have a complaint with the products they sell, but with their customer service and catalog department. We have asked repeatedly over several months to be removed from their mailing list, yet we continue to receive their catalogs in the mail several times a month! read more

This review is for the Orvis Outlet store. The two floor building is large and so is the selection. Because I'm not a regular shopper I can't comment as to how "good" were the discounts. Orvis is considered high end retail so prices are reflective. The staff person was friendly and parking was ample. If pressed for time I would visit the next door Orvis flagship store as you see a more current product line and get a unique flagship store experience. read more
