Shires Press is the first publishing house in the world to use the Espresso Book Machine…read morecommercially. This is the new way to publish books. One of the first novels to be published by them is Einstein's Rabbi: A Tale of Science and the Soul by Rabbi Michael M. Cohen. The following has been said abut the book: "Although I had no intention of doing so, I read Einstein's Rabbi in a single sitting. What made it so compelling was the believability of the three voices: narrator, rabbi, and Einstein. They sound like real human beings discussing profound subjects that really matter both to them and to all of us. It is a measure of their wisdom that what they say is as full of questions as it is of answers." ~ Rev. Frederick Buechner, Pulitzer Prize nominee "Einstein's Rabbi is fascinating, engaging and uniquely creative. It is more than the story of a young person's spiritual quest. It touches on many of the deep and fundamental issues that we face in our world today. Like a good teacher, Michael Cohen is able to convey the complicated clearly and simply, with his creative writing style. A series of Socratic conversations between young Joseph and Einstein's rabbi pull us into the story, while also inviting us to ask those very questions of our own lives." ~ Patrick J. Leahy, US Senator for Vermont "This book rescued me from myself. On a dark day it brought light into my life." ~ Mandy Patinkin, Tony Award® winning actor For more information go to: www.einsteinsrabbi.com

You can find anything…read morefrom vintage fur coats to cute, inexpensive gently used houseware, costume jewelry, bags, clothes, shoes, and more! I stopped in on 12/18/25 because I was in the area with time to kill. They were having a sale and on top of that all Christmas items were additionally marked down! I found enough plastic ornaments to make a holiday wreath I saw on Pinterest! They were ten cents each! I also scored beautiful cream wool placemats with the word Noel embroidered in silver metallic thread and surrounded by beads! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and happy! We came here once before to see if we could find six cocktail glasses and were rewarded with a big selection of sizes, styles, and price range! We will definitely be back the next time we need something! I grew up thrifting and now my daughter has grown up thrifting as well! Highly recommend Treasures Consignment Boutique!

This in comparison to a couple of other thrift stores I shopped that had a smaller selection and less well organized... at Treasures each jacket was marked with the size, a huge time saver. On impulse I also bought a spice rack organizer which leads to a cautionary tale about shopping at thrift shops. After a good amount of time trying to assemble it I realized that pieces were missing. Hopefully this was an inadvertent error on the part of the donor in gifting what was essentially a worthless item. Can't blame Treasures because they can't be expected to open and examine every $10 item. Still 5 stars in my book. Also: they have a Dutch auction system where certain things get markdowns on predetermined dates. So if you want to take your chances, you may get that desired item even cheaper.... or, it may be sold out from under you. But that's Saratoga for you.

Treasures Consignment Boutique & Thrift Shop - Way too expensive - probably twice as much as what the shirt was originally sold for

Treasures Consignment Boutique & Thrift Shop - Another incredibly overpriced piece. Need to do a better job at checking retails online (this was probably bought for $7)

What I didn't expect was a top-notch consignment store, but The Fashion Plate is just that! The interior is quirky as the store is in a historic colonial home, but that made the shopping experience all the more unique and fun. The prices are very reasonable and there is a wide-range from designer to accessible, every day pieces. There are also clothes and accessories for men, children, pets, and the home. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but they also gave me the space to browse without feeling pressured to buy, which for me is a major plus. I spent about 45 minutes browsing and trying on items so I would suggest giving yourself time to really explore the entire store--as one reviewer noted there is a lot to see (but I did not think this was an issue--more treasures to find!). My haul from the Fashion Plate included a vintage Chanel necklace, Chanel cashmere gloves (odd buy in July but winter is coming--haha), Lanvin ballet flats, deadstock Gucci blooms purse, Chanel wedges (I ended up wearing these to the wedding), a Henri Bendel backpack, a cool painting, and a pair of Chanel cambon ballet flats. They only stock authentic items (they explained their rigorous authentication process) and I appreciate that commitment to not selling replica goods. There was so much more to tempt me! I will certainly be back to shop this fun boutique.

Famous last words... "I'm just going to stop in Wilmington to get syrup."…read more Three dresses, two skirts, one top and $132 later ($135 if you count the $3 ATM fee from the liquor store across the street. Cash only folks)... turns out going to Wilmington for syrup is a lot like going to Target for toothpaste. Who knew such a fashion mecca could exist on the outskirts of a forest? Seriously, the owner's buying game is on point. I think I walked into the dressing room with at least 40 items. None of which would be useful for a weekend of camping. But all of which were great brands, new or basically new, ridiculously cute and so reasonably priced. But don't worry. I also got my syrup. Let's hope I don't spill it on all my new fashion finds.
