He was here for about an hour, didn't figure out what was wrong, didn't fix anything, didn't explain anything, and just left. No results, no answers, nothing. Later that same day, my uncle (who's a certified mechanic) came over and had the issue fixed in under 10 minutes. I reached out and asked for a partial refund since nothing was diagnosed or repaired, and his response was basically that "his time is valuable." That's ridiculous. So is charging people for doing absolutely nothing. Not someone I'd ever call again or recommend. Showed up late, didn't help, and refused to take any responsibility. Complete waste of time and money.

In November, Scott told me it would actually be $150, then $125 starting January. Then on November 25, they changed their mind again and said it would start in December instead of January. The Boatyard also admitted in writing that these electricity charges were only estimates and that there is no sub-meter or any real measurement of our actual usage. So these amounts are not based on real consumption at all, just numbers they choose. When we asked how they calculate electricity, instead of giving a clear explanation, we were told that if we're unhappy, we should leave. We still agreed to pay the $75 they announced. But after they accepted our full January rent, Michael told us to leave anyway and even threatened to put a lien on our boat. This is not transparent or fair business practice. Constantly changing prices, no real usage measurement, and pressure tactics after taking full rent. I would not recommend this marina.

CC Marine has provided me with great service on my Hunter 376 on three different occasions…read morerecently. The most recent was the replacement of a leaking fuel tank. While they had to subcontract out the fuel tank fabrication, which took a while (not their fault, I don't think), once they had the new tank, they very promptly installed it -- like the next day -- and got the boat back up and running. And I was truly impressed with how thorough and neat their work was. To remove the fuel tank required going through the aft cabin, removing the aft bulkhead, and lifting the tank out of the boat from down below. It was a big job. Once they installed the new tank, they very carefully reinstalled all the panels etc. that had been removed. They were very neat and tidy all the way through. Rodrigo and Manny were extremely courteous to deal with. Keep in mind these guys aren't cheap - in my view, they charge fair rates and give good value for those rates. Will gladly use them again.

Windward Yacht Center is the nicest boat repair business in Marina del Rey. It is a full service…read moreboat yard. They are family owned and have been in operation since 1969. We had the bottom of our boat painted here and a some major work done before going cruising. The workers did an amazing job. They took out and put back in our very heavy generator through a very narrow cockpit and out and above the boat without ever touching a side and laid it back down gently (not dropping it through the bottom of the boat as could have happened). They did this with two people-one looking below giving hand signals to the driver and controller who could not see any of this. These guys were pros. One of the nicest things was being able to live aboard while work was being done. Very important when you are a full time live aboard. We have been working with them to get a quote on a job to paint the hill of a boat. It's more difficult since they use an outside contractor to do the painting. Windward would charge for the haul out and days in the yard plus miscellaneous fees. I recommend Windward. I trust their work.
