Oscar resoled a pair of costly boots my hubby was not ready to part with. It was cheaper than a new pair, and so why not. When we picked up we were so surprised at the quality. Oscar's soles are better than the original. Hubs will enjoy his newly freshened favorite boots for many more years. I dare say that his work is of such a high quality that I will not need to pay his shop a repeat business anytime soon. I cannot say enough nice things about how great the work is, not to mention how welcoming and smiling Oscar is when he greets a customer. People don't realize that Oscar is a master craftsman, building custom boots, and belts. He showed me a pair of Osterige boots he built for a client in Raleigh that were amazing. The designwork on some belts he had built were beautiful. read more

Oscar's is an unassuming small building on the outskirts of town. And the interior is just as unassuming. However you quickly realize that Oscar turns out beautiful, very high-quality, even inspired boots. I have been into the shop several times and am working on a design to order a pair, and have seen 8 to 10 pairs of boots which Oscar has completed during my visits. The workmanship is consistent, the details are beautiful, and his commitment to quality is obvious. The cost for ordering a pair of custom boots from Oscar's is very reasonable, compared to any other establishments nationally. I believe him to be one of the few custom makers in our region. read more
