Pretty impressed. I took my daughters run over "doc martin" boots... they were able to resole them with a set of vibrum lug soles....looks very good...no it is not a direct replacement for the patented sole but it's definitely a quality alternative. Don't throw your favorite pair of shoes away...go see Ferguson! read more

Ferguson Shoe Repair was originally located in the shops at Hilton Village in Newport News. After Mr. Ferguson passed, the shop was taken over by the current owner who moved it to its current location. I have used Ferguson Shoe Repair exclusively for over forty years. I have never been disappointed at the results. One of the more complicated jobs required a redesign on a biker boot for my wife. She has severe RA and some deformity in her feet and ankles. Ferguson's redid the zipper so it would more readily fit her ankle replacement and built the sole up to make her walk more even. He even put the original sole with its thick treads on the bottom of the sole beneath the lift. I highly recommend you visit this cobbler for any of your shoe repair needs. read more

I've never gone to a shoe repair shop before, so I wasn't sure what rates to expect. I had a pair of nice patent leather teal Mary Janes where the bottom tips of the heels were well worn away, to the point where the metal structure of the shoe was exposed. He fixed it for $9, which seems reasonable. Cash only. I came on late on a Saturday and he said that they would be ready by Wednesday (closed Sunday). I have brought two items to this shop. A pair of knee high boots and a pair of pumps. Both had some heel damage from normal (rough) wear and tear. They were restored beautifully, for a very, very fair price, and in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend this shoe repair store. I think they could also do orthotic work, and repair purses. High quality service and quality. I took in a pair of deck shoes that needed some stitching done to secure the soles. Ferguson's originally charged me $10, but weren't able to restitch my soles. They used some adhesive compound, but refunded my $10 because they couldn't guaranty their work. read more

I got fast prompt service. I dropped off a pair of heels for some repair on the strap on Monday and they were ready by Wednesday. You have to pay a portion of the repair upfront. I don't remember if it is half or not but I paid $5.00 & the service was only $9.00 all together. They also repair purses. read more

During a simple repair, this shop managed to slice a part of my heels, making them completely unwearable. They then decided to deny they did it and claim "you sure someone didn't get mad at you?" My shoes stay in boxes. So no, that's not possible. Go somewhere else or plan on buying new shoes. read more

I needed new Velcro straps added to the shoe in my leg brace. He did a marvelous job and made my brace safe to wear. He charged a modest price and finished it on time, Medicare only pays for a replacement every six years so his efforts saved me, cheaply. He accepts cash only. read more
