I've gone to their small Kioskin in the parking lot before they moved to their new location and then been to them twice since, and they are really so helpful. This last time, they changed my deadbolt, only to find that they couldn't do my knob with the same key because the number of pins on my special key was not the same size and my Primus lock is only authorized by a different locksmith. They changed it back and did not charge me. Now that I have an issue with other locks, I'm calling them! People worth supporting. read more

Oscar saved my day! Had an old re-called Schlage lock that had the key stuck in it. Had called around and everyone wanted way too much to get it out. Oscar had moved and I didn't realize he was still in business and I'm forever thankful he is. Pulled out the entire lock, Oscar suggested I take to to Home Depot and ask for a new one. Best locksmith ever!! When I went by the little shop by McDonald's , and saw they were gone, I had a little panic attack, to my relief I saw that they had only moved to the next shopping center over. My boyfriend has done business with Oscar's for 20 years. He has saved our butts numerous times! In particular was.the loss of a customers key (boyfriend is a mechanic). While i was frantically looking on ebay for a replacement lock, my boyfriend removed the lock & took it to Oscar. He returned and said it would be ready in the morning for the unheard of price of $36.00! He has done a key for my Bronco when i bought a used tailgate from Pick a Part, keys for parts bin on a truck. Right now he's researching about a lock for a motorcycle key a friend needs. He doesn't charge you more for doing that & if he did you'd still save money. He's in a little kiosk behind MacDonalds, off Brookhurst & Garfield. You've probably driven by 100 times thinking he copies keys but he is expert at much more. It will be a sad day when he retires. I called last week to see if they could match some existing locks in our office for five new doors we just installed. We needed our existing keys to work with the locks. Oscar came in and evaluated what he would need, took some copies of our keys, and then came back a couple days later and installed all of the locks within an hour or so. Oscar's Lock in Fountain Valley, CA, is the BEST, most HONEST, HELPFUL business among any home repair/improvement company! When I had a problem with a lock, after others had charged significant fees just to take a look though they couldn't fix it, and no one, even Amerimax Building Products (the manufacturer) had been able to successfully resolve the issue, Oscar came out and examined the problem without charge, tried several innovative solutions, ordered a part to attempt to solve the problem, and returned with the part. When this part wouldn't fit, he didn't even charge me a dime! In addition, when I asked him about installing a better deadbolt on another door, he informed me that the one I had was excellent and I wouldn't even need that service (when he could have easily deceived me just to get the work.) My son bent our only remaining Subaru key while trying to unlock the car. Oscar was able to make two copies very quickly while I waited. Five minutes and done! Works perfectly and was very inexpensive. He also suggested I use the copies, as the manufacturer's key is made of steel, and the copies are a softer brass.
