Hoping for a '70's steel guitar, porno style entrance theme to pop up, she told me they (the campground) operated an oyster-only raw bar down the road. So with my tail between my legs, I sauntered on down and was quite delighted by the culinary, oral sensation these oysters provided. The area the surrounding oyster farm is nice as well. We made a reservation for dinner and were seated by the window with a view of the ocean. The waitstaff was very pleasant, and the food was divine! We had the spring salad, which had a medley of local greens (even some mint!) along with rhubarb, baby turnips, and a delicious dressing. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly rare--just how he likes it--and the accompaniments were steamed fresh asparagus and amazing mashed potatoes. I had the fresh halibut, reportedly right from the waters visible from our window--and definitely tasting as so--served with fresh asparagus, and roasted red potatoes and turnips. Dessert was lemon cheesecake with blueberry sauce drizzled over, and warm apple spice cake with homemade maple ice cream (to die for!). After dinner, we enjoyed a walk on the property's beach to watch the sunset, sitting in Adirondack style chairs. There was a spot for a fire, but we didn't have matches to light it with. Our room was one of the log rooms, which are 3 to a building--all facing the ocean, with large sliding glass doors and a small front porch. We were in the middle room, so the porch was private with walls on each side. The beds were incredibly comfortable, with fluffy pillows and crisp, fresh linens. The bathroom was spotless, with extra towels and toiletries. The one downfall to this room was the level of noise present from the other two rooms; we could hear the conversations from both sides. However, the view made up for the noise! A continental breakfast was included, and had a variety of homemade muffins, incredible bacon cheddar scones, and oat biscuits (my new favorite treat to go with my coffee!). There were also a few different cereals, as well as hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. I took a to-go coffee and sat on the bluff enjoying the morning sun. We only stayed one night, but should've stayed our whole vacation! We will definitely be back--we loved it!

My partner rented one for us for our anniversary, and I was expecting to rough it for the weekend. Oh nooooo.... not at all! Beautiful grounds, too if the line bbq equipment, everything but a stove! This place is luxury for its price point. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even offered to give a chunk of butter because we forgot to grab some for the corn! Also, there is a great restaurant across the way, and the liquor store next door. There is no fire pit, and this isn't exactly rustic. This is very much for people who love the outdoors, but also clean bathrooms. The room was so clean! Soooooo clean! Soooooooooooooo clean! Call me paranoid, but this is a thing for me. All in all, this place is worth every dollar! A lovely way to stay-cation. I still think about the meal! I highly recommend doing dinner at the cottage. Our seafood picnic for lunch was awesome. Lobster, shrimp, crab, lox, salad and a baguette. Yummy and very filling for our day of hiking. It also came packed in a backpack cooler so you could take it to go. The afternoon snack was also very tasty and a nice perk when coming back. Lynn and Rod were wonderful hosts. They are friendly, helpful and great people. They also went above and beyond. I only wish that we had more time to enjoy the cottage and property. I highly recommend staying here. When we come back to Cape Breton Island, I know that we will be staying here.

We booked a Wellness Retreat Weekend in January. I checked in throughout the pandemic to ask if it…read morewould continue or be cancelled, and was assured it was still going to run as planned. Less than a week before the retreat, the owners posted on Facebook that all retreats were now cancelled. They didn't call or email to notify us & provide information or options, I just got lucky that I checked their Facebook page. Of course at that point it was also nearly impossible to book elsewhere or schedule other activities as it was such short notice. They kept our reservation as a regular stay, but we felt it was very deceitful and that they did this intentionally to force people to have to stay with them for the weekend. The dome was beautiful & impeccably clean. Our view in Driftwood #4 was lovely, though the views from the back domes seem obstructed. There isn't a lot of privacy so if you want a secluded, romantic weekend this might not be the right spot. The hot tubs are nice but the chemicals are VERY strong and gave us both rashes. The amenities provided for over $200/night are minimal. There was one small packet of coffee and no filters for the coffee maker. No tea, creamers, etc. We got to have about half a cup of chunky coffee each and it wasn't restocked during the stay. The wifi worked for about one hour when we arrived on Friday and did not work for the rest of our stay, so I would strongly recommend that no one depend on it and assume you'll be fully off grid. Since the wifi doesn't work, you also have no way to call the number provided for the owners during your stay. While I don't regret staying here, I found it overpriced and would look elsewhere for my next stay.

You can hear the waves crashing on the beach from your living room. I fell in love with this place. It was bigger then my home and it came with beach front what else could anyone expect for 135 a night. Off season. A perfect vacation. They only have one moonbeamer so reserve it. The rest are all family units cost more have an extra bedroom minus the Jacuzzi.
