Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, she stayed with us for at least another hour and a half to help my son find everything he needed. She sized him for a suit, helped us work through different fits and styles, and stayed with us as we selected a suit, at least six pairs of pants, four or five shirts, two ties, socks, and more. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind throughout the entire process. My son was becoming quite overwhelmed by all of the choices, and Brenda recognized that and made the experience manageable for him. Without her help, we genuinely would have struggled to get everything accomplished. Employees like Brenda are what make customers want to return to a store. Staying that long after her shift to make sure we were completely taken care of was far beyond anything we expected. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness and dedication, and I sincerely hope Macy's recognizes Brenda for going so far above and beyond for us. Thank you, Brenda. There was only one girl working, and as soon as my mom and I walked in, she greeted us warmly. She let us know about everything happening in the store, including a BOGO sale. My mom was interested in a skirt, and the clerk explained how she would style it (which my mom loved), even coming out from behind the counter to demonstrate. The level of hospitality she showed us was amazing - something that's hard to find these days, and we really appreciated it.

I've always been curious about PItaya in Broad Ripple, one of 15 Pitaya locations nationwide with an emphasis on the Midwest with a handful of spots as outliers in Georgia, Texas, and Arizona. Pitaya started in 1990 in Bloomington, Indiana. The Broad Ripple spot now serves as their corporate address. It's a shop for young women's fashion, though certainly all ages can wear their fashions. Pitaya-labeled clothes are sewn here in the US. I had a cousin who, for many years, swore by Pitaya. While I've always been curious, that curiosity never led me to enter the place until recently when a friend asked me to pick something up. So, off I went. The good news, of course, is that Pitaya is one of the businesses in this building that is accessible. Several stores in this strip have a step to get in (Metamorphosis, the bagel shop, etc.). Pitaya's pretty easy to get into, and the accessible parking is about a block away. I actually found what I was looking for, picked it up, and was treated surprisingly well considering it was painfully obvious it wasn't for me. The store was well organized, the employee I met was friendly and helpful, and it had a good energy. I've also always associated Pitaya with super thin, however, I did see some variation in sizing. I mean, not quite to my size but definitely some variation. Will I go back? If my friend asks, sure. To be honest, I felt way more awkward at Thieves than I did here. If you can make an older, unfashionable guy like me feel comfortable then you've kind of won me over.

They generally are known to have nice jeans/denim for good pricing. My husband found some gym shorts at reasonable prices. They have a fitting room in the back, but a man was there working and said they were closing it down. He directed me to the fitting room upfront. There was only one fitting room open up front (one was closed down), and a line started forming. I waited about 15 minutes for the fitting room, which was inconvenient. I decided to purchase 1 out of the 3 I tried on, and they were $15 which is cheap. The line to check out was fairly long too. One of the workers checking people out said she was taking her break, so it only left one lady at the register. Eventually someone else came to help her out and the line started to move a little faster. We stood in the checkout line about 20 minutes, definitely need to have patience when shopping. This location is connected to other business with shared parking, which can get crowded when busy.

What I realized is that for plus sizes you have to shop online to find stuff. However, I have found loads of plus size items on the clearance racks in store both in Avon and Plainfield. I will say some of the sizes are way bigger than typical so you're always guessing whether you need to size up, size down or buy true to size. I've bought my size, larger and smaller with varying results. The staff in store have always been nice and friendly and will always let you know if you have credits to use.

For Thanksgiving weekend they were running a 50% off storewide sale, and for every $50 you spent you got $25 Real Woman Dollars, which basically work like 50% off coupons. So in other words I scored $400 worth of clothes for $200 and I got coupons to get an additional $100 off a $200 purchase at a later date. The great thing about the Real Women Dollars is that you can combine them with other coupons. I currently have a $40 rewards check, so when I combine that with my RWD I'll be able to get $200 worth of clothes for $60. That being said, I wait to shop here until they are running a good sale, which seems to happen two or three times a year. The clothing can be expensive, and while it's worth it IMO, I simply don't have room in my budget to pay full price. This particular store is located in Greenwood Park Mall. I find it easiest to park near Dick's and Sears and enter the mall through one of those stores. They typically have a good selection in the clearance area and I've gotten some really great deals on blazers. The accessories section isn't huge but they have cute, trendy jewelry and scarves. They've added a shoe section as well, which makes me INCREDIBLY happy. It's hard to find knee high boots that fit my shapely calves and every pair I tried on here fit and I wanted them ALL. It was hard to control myself. The staff here are incredibly helpful and know the clothing lines very well. They let me know which items tend to shrink or stretch. The bras and jeans here fit me so well. I think it's genius that a plus-size clothing store had the brains to realize that not all curvy girls are curvy in the same way. So there are three different fits to their line of Right Fit jeans, and they are color coded: red, blue, or yellow. I love mine, I don't get that awful gap in the back of my pants anymore. I'd say about 75% of my clothing is from LB and I doubt I've paid full-price for any of it. The selection is ever changing and varied enough that both I (in my early 30's) and my mother-in-law (in her late 50's) can find things here we like.

Today, I wasn't able to find the size I needed. I prefer underwire bras because they offer more support. I take a 46DD but the items ran small (another confusing consideration as this is geared toward plus sized gals like myself.) I required a 48DD. They do not carry them in store (in underwire), but online. This is nonsensical in my opinion; shouldn't a customer be able to try the product on? I was able to get a deal on some comfy, wire-free pieces but it was not what I originally wanted. I will shop here in the future but not for bras.
