Had a good Tuesday taco night at Osito's. They have yummy, hand crafted flavors that are unique and delicious. Restaurant is casual counter service. You order, pay, and they bring you your food and drinks. You choose your seats, booth, tables or the bar by the window. We have been here many times, but my go to is always the don titos. I love the shrimp and the sauce. Very tasty. We all got different tacos, so of course, everyone is happy. Tacos are very filling so we left satisfied. You can also go up to the counter for a drink refill. The staff is pleasant and they make suggestions if you're not sure what you want. All good, was pretty busy for the dinner rush on a Tuesday night. read more

First time, not last time! Took my daughter for lunch tacos. She loved the kids tacos said they had tons of flavor not too spicy and came with chips and queso. That option of chips and queso made her day. Most places charge extra. Her meal was like $7 with a drink. I had the triple taco platter with ranch bean and rice. All three tacos I had were excellent and I will be back to get the rest ( fried chicken, Al pastor, and fish). It was almost too much food. read more

I'd like to add more then one star. The food was good. And the service was good. However the head "chef" was screaming at the cashiers and belittling them in front of a packed restaurant. We read several reviews and this place was great. We ordered two orders of the nachos with chicken and the taco plate with fish tacos. Everything was great. The nachos were a meal by themselves. They were fresh, with a Southern spin. There were jalapeño's, and okra in them. The sauces were amazing, and the meat was fresh. The fish tacos were amazing as well. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. If you are in Cornelius, North Carolina, and near Davidson College, give this place a try, you wont be disappointed. read more

Sometimes it's the place that may look a bit older and nondescript on the outside that have the best food inside. Head just north of Cornelius and you will enjoy a great meal. Tacos, today's, quesadillas, and burritos with unique combinations. I ordered 2 specials - seared scallop taco and ribeye taco - which were great. In addition to great food they have a variety of beer in their cooler. Order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table in just a few minutes. I have been wanting to try Osito's for a while now and finally got the chance. I will say that I was satisfied! The All My Exes torta and fries were really good and the torta is a large size! Those fries have a kick too! LOL! The street corn (got it off the cob) was really good as well! Osito's is located on North Main St (Old Statesville) in Cornelius. It's in a quaint little row store/shopping center. There are both inside and some outside seating at the restaurant. Inside has a funky little vibe to it and is really cool. They have a pretty good menu selection with tortas, tacos, burritos, etc. They have adult drink beverages as well. The staff members were really nice - from welcoming us upon arrival, to taking our order and preparing it. Osito's also drops orders off to the D9 Brewery, if you decide to order food while you have a beer. So that's a great option as well! Definitely give Osito's a try! It's worth it! read more

Our favorite spot in Cornelius! Even after moving about 40 minutes away we still travel back just for Osito's. The Don Tito is on our order every time, so delicious. Customer service was lacking. This was our first time to eat here - based on the incredible Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was less than incredible. We ordered at the counter & paid. One of the items purchased was chips and queso. However, after we sat down - another employee came over to our table and let us know that the person who took our order only charged us for the queso - not the chips & if we wanted chips with our queso that would be an additional $2.75. For a mistake of your employee seems like you would eat the "cost" of the chips and just put them on our tray vs having us get back up and go back to counter and pay the $2.75. Tried this little local place hoping to find something more local. We like Velvet Taco in Southpark so that was are standard. Had the platter with A- Shorty, Don Toto and Mama Dukes. Don Tito hits! Mama Dukes just to find a breakfast style Taco. It's good but have the egg over medium to reduce mess. Mexican Pizza and Street Corn also worth it. Friendly staff. read more

We always have very positive experiences and excellent food when we choose Osito's. Most importantly Osito's has THE BEST FLAN! Literally I can not remember a time in the past decade when I had a better flan! It is perfect in texture, flavor and creaminess. Incredible and I HIGHLY recommend it! We always order the queso and I vary between tacos or salads. The flavors are always excellent and consistent. When I put special instructions in my order they always are exact and get it right the first time. The rest of our household orders tacos and they never disappoint. During COVID their pick ups even curbside are very seamless. You just call them and they pop out to your car in a flash. We've been here twice and both times it was spectacular. The service is awesome - you order at the counter and they bring it to you - and the flavor profiles are delightful. Two tacos is enough for me for dinner, but sometimes we go hard if there's a group of us. Honestly, tacos, nachos, fries, guacamole, queso... all delightful. I really don't think you can go wrong. Osito's Tacos and Tortas is OH SO CUTE and DELICIOUS! Normally, I pass by this sleepy strip mall on Main Street in Cornelius, but the name and concept sounded intriguing. I am happy to say that I was not let down. They sell a handful of tacos, tortas (Mexican style-sandwiches, a salad bowl, nachos, and some sides. Today we went in and tried the tacos. In terms of price, the tacos were $3.50 to $4.50 each, so pretty reasonably priced. I tried the Don Tito (shrimp and pickled okra) and the Miguel (black bean croquetas). My friend tried the Hoss (carnitas) and the Santo Lazarus (al Pastor). All of the tacos were loaded with stuffing, and I really liked the corn tortillas that they used. The flavors were really unique and tasty. By the end of my meal I was definitely full and happy. The staff was so friendly here! I had visited here for the first time, and the people at the register were more than happy to walk me through the menu and give me their recommendations. I visited during COVID, and I could tell that Osito's had taken precautions to make sure our dining experience was safe. All of the staff was wearing masks, and you could see that they were wiping down surfaces regularly. They have a few small tables for outside dining, for which I was thankful. On a recent trip to Cornelius, NC we were looking for a quick lunch but wanted to try a local favorite. Our visit did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly and the ordering process at the counter was simple. The employee answered all questions with a smile and helped steer us to our picks. So happy to finally try this place. We got here before the noon rush and everybody came out fast and piping hot. I ordered the pimento queso & chips (perfectly smooth, just the right amount of saltiness). Then I ordered 3 tacos (should've gone with two). The fish, chicken and pork. All of them were delicious. Everyone tasted different with different combinations of textures and flavors. My favorite was the masa fish, perfectly fried and seasoned. The orange pieces on the pork carnita was magic. Food and drink specials were helpful in narrowing down the options as I tend to get overwhelmed my first time at a new place. The Paloma was tasty and well made. We ordered the nacho with everything, the Cubans, and kids corn dog meal. Everything was fantastic but we probably ordered more than our stomachs could handle. It's safe to say we'll be back. After coming to Osito's several times, I typically really enjoy it but unfortunately they're pretty inconsistent. This time my quesadilla was spicy (but it never has been in the past), the margs were almost all ice, and the tacos were unusually saucy. Still enjoy coming here but it helps set expectations knowing it's not always consistent. However, the staff is consistently friendly and the place is always clean. Still worth going to. read more

My partner and I recently moved here from California and one of the things we miss the most is really good Mexican food. When we arrived, we accidentally parked in the curbside pick up spot while we looked at the menu. A kind woman walked out and asked if we had ordered curbside. We apologized, but she told us it was fine and offered to take our order inside or over the phone, saying "Whatever you are comfortable with." She was wearing a mask and social distanced and we really really appreciate that! A few moments later we called in and ordered tacos, quesadillas and a kids meal. I am ashamed to admit I made a few substitutions (no cheese on the a-shorty taco and okra salsa on the side for the other) but they were gracious and complied. A very short while later (maximum ten minutes), she came out with our order and it smelled HEAVENLY. We aren't familiar with the Cornelius/Davidson area and asked where we could eat our food lakeside and she gave us the BEST directions. When we got to a local park with our food and unwrapped it, I kid you not, I moaned just from the scent. My tacos were so juicy, flavorful and absolutely hit the spot. I was skeptical about okra salsa since I don't like okra, but it was PHENOMENAL. I am saving the extra salsa to eat with my next homemade taco in a couple days! I used some of it for the chips too. My spouse, a native and lifelong Californian until a few years ago took two bites and proclaimed his quesadilla "The best quesadilla I have ever had in my life." I took a bite and he was right. So good. My son can't articulate his feelings about food yet beyond "yucky" and "yummy" and he declared his quesadilla yummy. We can't wait to get back for another meal and I am looking forward to dining in once the pandemic is a bit more under control. Cannot say thank you enough. read more
