We went to Carburritos the other evening after a long day at the office. I have a great deal of responsibility assisting in managing a property with 360 apartments. With that being said, sometimes I don't want to make any decisions about anything at the end of the day. It's so nice to come in after a rough day have a seat at the bar and just say two tacos chef's choice please. I have done this several times and every single time the tacos are out of this world! The wait staff will generally ask. Is there anything that you don't like? I love everything but fresh cut jalapeños are just a little more than I can handle. I normally try to grab a seat at the bar. The employees typically know many customers by name and greet them before they can even grab a seat. It's really nice to be in a place where they remember your name and your drink of choice....not having to make decisions about what you're eating at the end of a crazy day is just a bonus! read more

Oh my gosh this Mexican restaurant was so delicious. It was our first time trying it and we will definitely be back. Everything was so flavorful and fresh and the staff was great. Never in my life have I had a watery tostada. I think the shell was on top of the beans but honestly couldn't tell because the water turned it to mush before my first bite. Great spot in Davidson. Went here twice in a week span and had an equally great experience both times. Clean, friendly staff, great food and drinks. I can't do spicy at all due to health reasons (not even mild), so I often struggle to find food at Mexican places but was able to do just fine here. The grilled shrimp quesadilla was delicious, not spicy, and a generous portion. The millionaire margarita is delicious and really hits the spot. The guacamole is spicy though, just a heads up for anyone that can't do heat. It looked fresh and great, but I couldn't do it. The chips were delicious, though. They have a fairly large offering of salsa and you can get as many as you'd like. Service is quick and very friendly. Both times we've had someone check by to see how everything is. This place has great reviews, so don't listen to me, especially since my favorite Mexican food is On the Border (HOT fajitas). I didn't have a great first impression at Carrburritos because they don't have pico, the steak is shredded (if that was steak), and the name of the place makes me think of a carburetor. Most importantly, though, is the dish return area. Customers and employees just toss their plates on top of what's already there, making for loud clanking noises throughout the meal. The chicken was kind of blah. Not dry, just blah, with no enjoyable aftertaste. The brownie was good but not amazing. There are two different kinds of chips in the bowl. One kind of chip is good (not great), the other is not good (imo). Yesterday I got the Baha Fish Tacos ! SO good! When I walked in I got nervous because I have a gluten allergy and I asked the girl behind the counter if they would be able to accommodate. This is also a spot where I know I going to leave full until dinner. I love the fun vibe of the restaurant. The floral printed tables are charming and the order numbers are printed on large playing cards. There's plenty of seating and a patio to sit on if you'd like. My absolute favorite part of Carrburritos is the chips and salsa. You must try a couple of them whenever you order. The chips that come included with the meal are stellar. You get the traditional tortilla and a flaky version that I think is to die for. I highly recommend the frutas salsa. It's so refreshing. I can't believe I've never reviewed Carrburritos! This place is so good. I get variations of the same thing every time because I enjoy it so much. Today I had a mejor burrito bowl with pollo asado. Comes with a side of chips. I'm always super full when I leave, which is great since we get two plus drinks for around $20. The food always tastes super fresh which is awesome for a local place. A great place that's owned by great people! The food is excellent and very fresh. The queso is not to be missed! I used to frequent the Carrboro location decades ago in college and I'm glad the food at the Davidson location isn't just a nostalgia trip for me, it's all really great! Some of the worst Mexican I've had. The burrito wraps are gummy and flavorless, the chips are the same as you'd buy at the grocery store...... you know the ones in that brown bag? Flavorless, cold. The taco shells are identical to the ones you buy in the store....you know the ones that are stacked inside each other? How much effort and cost would it be to give people warm, homemade chips? Then had to flag someone else down to ask them to make my burrito after about 10 more minutes of waiting.. My tostada carnitas had NO fried tortilla- just a few crumbled tortilla chips that were soggy from the un-drained can of un-seasoned black beans that were dumped on the bottom of the dish. Baja shrimp taco is my favorite. I have had the nachos with chorizo, which come layered to perfection and piled high with topping yumminess. I love their selection of salsas and make sure I get the frutas salsa almost every time. The basket of chips has a mix of flour and corn tortillas to dip into your salsa. Quesadillas are good. I was surprised to get the sweet potato mash in it one time and thought it was surprisingly great and messy. The bowls are a good option too. I haven't had anything I didn't like but I constantly go back to the baja shrimp tacos and the nachos but mix it up with different toppings each time. Cheese dip is good. Margaritas are better. They have a crazy selection of margaritas, a must if you go. They have good beer selection too. They have great outdoor patio seating & a decent amount of seating inside. Good location, fast service, and friendly staff. I enjoyed two chicken tacos, which were pretty good, a white sangria which was fantastic, and the queso and chips which were also pretty good. All in all, these weren't the best tacos I've ever had, but they were good. I could see myself coming back here for sure! read more
