We live very close, and we can always go in with the kids and guarantee a fresh meal that is super quick- which is great when you have small kids with you! The complimentary chips and salsa are delicious! We also really like the cheese dip. They do not have alcoholic beverages, so just keep this in mind when you visit! It is a great family Mexican restaurant! They have specials every night- 8.99 for several different options! On Monday, they have buy one, get the second half off! So reasonable! We have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and never ate here. Tonight we stopped and ate. What a pleasant surprise. My wife had "New Mexican Steak" and I had "Camarones Bravos" which is spicy shrimp, however i swapped out the shrimp for spicy steak strips with beans, rice and tortillas. Our meals were excellent. The service was great and the price was reasonable. The parking stinks due to the surrounding restaurants and small parking lot but not there fault. I highly recommend this hidden gem.. read more

I am a mexican food snob growing up in San Diego and I recognize that tastes are different all over the US and Mexico. the chili relleno was unlike any I have ever had....pepper with cheese sauce and hamburger on top. We had originally planned to go to an Italian restaurant, but it was so crowded with a 20 minute wait. We noticed Mazatlan Mexican restaurant right nearby and decided to check it out. It was not crowded and the people working there were very friendly and welcoming. We decided to eat there and enjoyed a delicious Mexican meal. The food was fresh and tasty with just the right amount of salt. We were delighted with the service and the food. Our waitress went out of her way to help us with the various choices of Mexican food on the menu. Tried this restaurant based on its 4.7 review, ordered take out, 4 hard Tacos and 4 enchiladas 2 chicken and 2 beef for all. Food was terrible. Hamburger and Chicken had no flavor and no seasoning, the chicken was tough to the point it couldn't be chewed. Sauce was bland also, even the chips bad. Will not ever go back. Honestly, I've ordered food here a couple times and it is always "eh, it is ok". This time we got the "street tacos". They aren't "street tacos". Mazatlan advertises them as "meat (your choice) with cilantro and onions" I didn't have cilantro, onions, or anything else. It was meat covered in cheese and iceberg lettuce. The hard shell taco we ordered was soft by the time it got to the house (5 mins, we live in the neighborhood behind the restaurant). Just a bad experience. Margaritas is and additional 5 mins, and infinitely better. Never doing this again. If they want to improve, please, at LEAST put the stuff you say is included on the menu, on the ACTUAL food you serve. read more

Delicious & fresh Mexican food. I have been only there for lunch and daily specials are always available. Menu items are offered at great prices. Dishes served with very generous portions. The staff always make you feel welcome and are courteous. The lunch fajitas are amazingly good! (highly recommended) From the outside and as you walk into the podium it doesn't give you 100% confidence of the goodness of the place. This restaurant is one of the cheapest places compared to others and for the price the food is delicious. I don't normally write reviews but I've seen a couple bad ones for this place and I just had to. The service is quick, waiters are friendly and there is an inviting atmosphere here. Sometimes the service isn't the best but it's understandable when the place is packed (especially for taco Tuesday). I would like to say that there are a few changes I personally would make but overall this is a really great option for anyone who wants a quick meal and I mean quick. By the time we order, the food is out in about 10-15 minutes. I will always be coming here in the years to come. I truly love this restaurant and how much it's grown in the 20+ years it's been open. sopa de pollo is my go to in any mexican restaurant. here the sopa is one of the best, but the serving is fun-size. i could eat three bowls before feeling satisfied (after binging on the free chips and salsa). service was fair, everyone had a good attitude. we often use "attractions" coupons to compliment our dining as a way to get out and explore other areas, the waiter gave three different reasons why we could not use a $5 off coupon and none of the three were incredibly convincing , but not worth pushing any further (we get it). read more

This place is awesome! First off, the staff is very very friendly, respectful and efficient. The food is great, I don't think I have ever got a dish I did not enjoy. Within a few seconds of sitting down your greeted and served chips and salsa. The menu is a little hard to take in at first, they have a lot of selections to choose from. The prices are pretty good for the quality of food and the great service. They do have specials and daily deals that are nice. The atmosphere is great, the inside is nice and clean, the music is good, it has a relaxed feel. The parking lot is about the only downside. During peak hours from the other businesses , it can be a challenge to find a spot. But the fight for parking is worth the food. Overal, if you have never been, go! we love this place. the food is really great. the service is better than any place we've ever visited. the work ethic is incredible. you don't have "a" server you have the entire staff serving you. there is no such thing as "your table or my table" all the servers pitch in. someone checks in with you often but at the same time they don't hover so you feel like like you can't carry on a private conversation. no server walks by without noticing that you need a refill of soda or chips or leaving dirty dishes on your table. too bad other restaurants don't emulate this phylosphy. read more
